Quick trip from west part of Belize. Active archaeological site , neat history and structures. Knowledgeable guide.
A fascinating place and Maya Walk organized a great trip. Our guide was knowledgeable. Everything, including the border crossing, went smoothly.
We had an amazing day at Tikal. Our guide Phillip was knowledgeable and accommodating. The experience was seamless from pickup to drop off.
It was an amazing tour! The team was great and really helpful! The hike was very beautiful and the lunch was really good.
William was an exceptional tour guide. His depth of knowledge on everything from the natural world to Guatemalen history to politics, and of course to the Tikal site was incredible. It was a great tour
Seamless transition from pick up to drop off in Guatemala to head to Tikal. Tikal itself was amazing. Probably the best Mayan ruins I’ve ever seen. It’s incredible how you can climb a bunch of the structures to this day. I loved seeing temples above the trees from the tops of other temples or pyramids.
Whole experience was well worth the cost. The guide and drivers were fantastic and helpful through all stages. Our guide Regge was super knowledgeable about Mayan culture and nature around Tikal. Lunch was also top notch
The Tourguide was very informative and helpfull. Always ready to answer all questions. We were lucky with the weather.
It is quite demanding adventure, lasting about 12 hours. However, for me, it was well organized and led by experienced and helpful guide. This trip fulfilled my expectations. However, I wish we sight a bit more the Maya pyramids in Tikal.
Excellent trip, albeit a long one from San Ignacio. We were taking to the border and to cross to meet tour guide on the other side, a little bit daunting not being accompanied but was easy enough. Long car journey to get to Tikal but well worth it. Guide spoke great English and was very knowledgeable. Border crossing on the way back was the same, but we had to wait around 30 minutes for pickup due to unexpected traffic - a little scary but all good in the end.
Our tour guide - Regge - was great! He is so knowledgeable about the history and culture of Tikal. He was patient with all our questions (there were many), and when he saw that I was excited about certain topics, he went further in-depth on those. The location itself is wonderful. This is not to be missed!
It was cool crossing the border to Guatemala. I got to get another passport stamp. Our guide was very knowledgeable and I really enjoyed climbing the ruins.
Our tour with Mayawalk was great! The group was small (6 people), the transport vans were very nice, the lunch was tasty, and most importantly our guide was knowledgeable and engaging.
Jesus Antonio was an amazing guide!! Educated, scholarly, and passionate about his the history, the people, and education, he was super friendly and very high energy. He should seriously write a book. Blessed!
Tikal was a great experience - not crowded, easy transportation, beautiful site, wildlife, and a yummy lunch - that I would recommend to anyone.
This is a great way to make a quick trip from Belize to Tikal and back to Belize in one day. The tour operations is a well oiled machine and everything went smoothly.
Due to heat and time limits at Tikal, while enroute do not accept the stop on the way for breakfast and minimize the (mandatory?) bathroom/driver rest stop. Our driver and tour guide had a coffee and some food at our bathroom stop. Only to arrive later and hot due to mid-day sun. Just note there is a hard time to leave Tikal, 3:00 pm due to how the tickets are set up. If you want to stay after 3:00 you must purchase another 'sunset' ticket. So, any delay starting Tikal tour will reduce your time to see all expansive complex. Also on the way back we did not have a restroom stop and the driver drove faster and less smoothly.
Note all the tour guides and companies work together so we picked up two extra people to transport back to Belize. This incurred a 30+ minute delay leaving Tikal and a 15+ minute at the boarder, since they did not have a 'day pass' and were entering Belize from Guatemala for the first time.
Also, bring extra water (3+ liters) or be prepared to purchase water.
Tikal tour is awesome and do climb as many temples as possible the view is spectacular. We saw some spider monkeys and toucans. Included lunch was ok.
Between the Gran Plaza and the High Temple an entire clan (roughly 60) of Coati came through the jungle floor directly at us and swarmed around while they scavenged and foraged for food.
Very special close encounter.
