What a great experience with just a couple of things to be aware of!
We booked for a family of 4 so we were allocated a 4 seater buggy. That was perfect for us, but if you want two separate buggies you would need to specify on your booking. It also doesn’t mention on the booking, but you have to have a drivers license. I would also add to that, you need to be a confident driver! These things are so much fun to drive but they are not the easiest things to handle and the terrain is rough, bumpy and dusty!
It’s branded as a tour but I would say it’s more of an experience. They don’t really tell you much on the stops but we were happy to just hop out and take some pictures.
We did the two hour tour and that was definitely enough for us. It was blazing hot and they do not provide and refreshments so make sure you pack water!
Wear clothes you don’t care about as you will return orange!
The experience was only marred slightly by a couple of incidents, with a buggy defect and the tour guide crashing his quad. There was no real communication as to what was going on so we were just sat in the middle of the desert for an hour.
Other than that it was one of the best experiences I’ve done!

Pick up was on time and right outside our accommodation, taken to the base where we signed forms and got a basic briefing. It’s not mentioned in booking but you MUST have driving licence with you or at least a photograph of it.
Tour it’s was fun however very slow paced mainly due to a slow person in our group we had to wait for.
Places visited were interesting but be warned there are hidden extra charges not mentioned in booking that you will need cash for. At shark bay you are charged €3 per person to simply enter water, regardless if you borrow shoes or not and at Piscinas de Sal it’s €6 per person to enter.
Tour guides were good and knowledgeable but didn’t ever give information about cost of the places we visited.
Overall tour would have been more enjoyable if all costs were known and we didn’t have to go so slow or wait for the last person.

Very fun afternoon, let down due to the time it took for a wheel to be changed after getting a puncture (the base was 10 minutes from where we were on the main road, however took 1.5 hours to await someone to turn up, who didn’t turn up with the equipment needed to change the tire.
Ensure you take water as none is provided

Great fun and really enjoyable out in vast area of Sal. The team are friendly, knowledgeable and patient. You get to see some stunning scenery and visit the lemon sharks and the salt flats. Basically all out good fun
I was very grateful for the hotel pick up as the instructions on how to get to the meeting point where wrong. It might have been me but when I used the app it took me to another destination. BIG TIP. Get hotel pick up
Also where massive amount of sun protection as the heat is brutal.

Fabulous off road way to see Sal with great informative guides. Definitely would recommend the company used by Viator for this activity

A fantastic overall experience. Together with my partner, we booked the 4h buggy tour, in which we visited a small salt mine, Serra Negra & The Zip Line (not included to take a ride), Lemon Shark Bay (3 euro / person to visit with crocks incl. but no towels & 1 euro for toilet), Pedra de Lume Salina & a kite surfing beach. The roads are rough and you definitely need a face protection / bandana which are not incl., you can get one for 2.5 euros or bring from home. All the stops were perfectly timed, we did not waste any time and we had enough to enjoy the stops and take pictures. We visited in the end of February, when it is very windy, so proper clothing (long sleeves and a hoodie) is recommended alongisde off-roading gear.
It was a great way to visit the island in an andrenaline fueled way, full of adventure (not for the feint hearted). Our guide, Hamilton (Sorry if I got the name wrong, I was too hyped for the driver) was very friendly and helpful along the way. The buggies were very easy to drive, all of them are automatic.

Fantastic buggy tour of Sal - a mix of off-road adventure and
sightseeing.
Pick up from hotel was on time and without problem. Staff and guides were very friendly and took great care to make sure you were safe and enjoying the tour.
Recommend that you take a face covering and goggles as it is very dusty and sandy, which is just part of the fun of the day.
Visited the salt flats and the lemon sharks as part of this tour. Enjoyed standing in the water and the sharks were swimming round your legs.
We looked at several different tour operators offering similar tours.
We're glad that we chose this one.
It's worth buying the photos that Alex takes as you journey round.
They're cheap and you get some good shots.
Great afternoon out.

A bandana or some sort of face mask is a must as very dusty and don't expect to come back clean lol. The visit to shark bay was amazing and the salt pool was the ok but well worth it for the buggy and shark experience

Superb organised trip, picked up from our hotel and went to our buggy’s, had a guide and instructions on how to use the buggy’s and off we go, superb off roading experience and excitement, went passed the salt fields, to the zip wire with views then on to shark bay. €3 each to go in with the sharks and hire of the footwear(well worth it) what a experience to have all these lemon sharks swimming around your legs. Then back across the sand to base. Absolutely a superb trip a must for anyone coming to Cape Verde Sal. Very friendly staff who meet and greet you and take you all the way on this experience so even if it’s your 1st time they will help you along all the way and back…. SUPEB

We chose the full day buggy tour (7:30) and it was really an amazing experience. I loved the fact that we were in a small group: initially we were 4 buggies + 1 quad , then the groups split according to the chosen circuit. As a result, for the complete tour we ended up with only 2 buggies with our guide — making the experience even more enjoyable and personalized.
The stops were varied and well paced, short but enough to enjoy without wasting too much time:
• Serra Negra: beautiful volcanic landscapes and panoramic views.
• Shark Bay: impressive to see lemon sharks so close (3 €/pers, fangs lent to walk on the rocks).
• Salinas: very nice moment, we literally float in salt water (6 € / person, shower available 1 € to rinse).
• Blue Eye: very touristy and less spectacular, but the view of the cove remains pretty (3 €/pers).
• And many other stops along the way: Kite Beach, Pedra de Lume, Terra Boa, Palmeira, Murdeira, Ponta Preta... each has its charm, between beaches, mirages, villages and coves.
I found the perfect timing: no endless stops, just what it takes to discover, take photos and leave. It’s a complete tour, you can see a lot in one day, and the buggy makes the adventure even more fun.
Special mention for the guide who was super nice, and there is a photographer who accompanied us at the beginning to take pictures, you can pick them up then but we did not test.
In short, I recommend 100% this excursion if you want to go around the island in an original and well organized way!
