A gorgeous experience in Santa Maria, with a lovely crew and capitan. The boat is beautiful, the food provided is great, and the service on board is 10/10. Bring your own snorkelling goggles & make sure you have a bag that doesn’t get too wet, because you have to take a small boat to get to the catamaran, and your stuff might get wet.

Make sure to text them with your pick up location, sounded like they might not have been checking the app.
Good solid tour, average. Nice boat, free drinks. Small snacks. 5 minutes of water time. Not a party boat. Toilet aboard. No real destination or things to see. Vague acknowledgement we might see animals but no staff were actively looking for them.

We completely agree that it is very important for us to know where our guests are staying so we can confirm the correct meeting point and pick-up time, and organize our transfers accordingly.
We always reach out to our guests before their trip, preferably via WhatsApp, as it is the easiest way to confirm all the details. However, sometimes we are unable to reach guests due to incorrect contact information or because the accommodation selected during the booking is not where they are actually staying. As mentioned in the booking confirmation, we kindly ask all guests to contact us after booking to confirm their accommodation so we can arrange everything correctly.
We’re happy to hear you enjoyed the boat, the drinks, and the relaxed atmosphere. Our trips are designed to offer a peaceful sailing experience along the beautiful southwest coast of the island rather than being a party or snorkeling excursion. Depending on the wind and ocean conditions, our captain adjusts the route to ensure the best and safest sailing experience.
Regarding wildlife, our captain and crew are always keeping an eye out and do their very best to spot dolphins, turtles, whales (seasonal), or other marine life. As these are wild animals in their natural habitat, sightings can never be guaranteed, but we always keep our fingers crossed!

This is a fantastic afternoon out.
Be prepared for a hot bus trip to the boat if you're not local to the launch point, but even that was relaxed and well organised.
The boat trip itself was amazing. The crew couod not do enough for us, plenty of water, soft drinks, beer and wine with snacks at the start and finish. We saw dolphins playing and leaping all round the boat, humpback whales breaching in the distance and flying fish too. Even if we had seen nothing, the 3 hours on the catamaran were the perfect way to spend an afternoon. Plenty of shade when needed and glorious sunshine too. Highly recommend!

The actual sailing experience was excellent - boat was good with plenty of space and crew were entertaining. A couple of rounds of drinks, nuts and cakes included which all went down well. Snorkeling was available for those brave enough to venture into the chilly water !
What was poor, was the communication regarding where to meet.
Original instructions were to meet at Santa Maria pier, but since this has been washed away, this was not possible. No updated instructions were provided by the operator or Viator; we asked around and sought out the meeting place ourselves, which was at a minibus on the edge of the beach by the new Barcelo building site. We were fine as we are fairly fit, but the revised arrangements for getting to the catamaran involved a minibus ride to another beach, a walk across the sand to then get into a dinghy (tricky as the sea was slightly rough) and then getting from the dinghy onto the boat, with the same in reverse when we departed. Anyone with any even mild infirmity would have struggled to achieve this.
These are arrangements are presumably going to remain until the pier is completed (some time yet) so should be communicated to guests before they book.

Regarding the meeting point and arrangements: due to the ongoing pier construction in Santa Maria, departures can change, and we currently operate from two different points. We do contact all guests in advance (directly or via the booking platform) to share the correct, updated information, but we understand that in your case this wasn’t as clear as it should have been.
Your feedback is helpful, and we’ll make sure to double-check that all departure details are communicated even more clearly going forward.

I booked this boat trip a day in advance, and while the date was later changed, the company tried to make up for it by offering a bottle of champagne, although unfortunately this was not received.
The transfer from the coast to the catamaran was quite long, and the snorkelling portion was much shorter than expected at around 5 minutes, despite being advertised as part of the experience.
That said, the crew were absolutely fantastic — extremely friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring. They created a very welcoming atmosphere and did everything they could to ensure I enjoyed the trip. Also excellent multilingual skills.
With a few organisational improvements and clearer communication, this could be a really lovely experience.

We would like to add a few clarifications for future guests reading this review.
On this trip, the group did in fact encounter pilot whales, which is an extremely rare and special sighting that cannot be guaranteed and is often considered a highlight of a lifetime at sea.
Regarding the sparkling wine: this was communicated internally as a goodwill gesture due to the date change. If it was missed on board, we sincerely apologise, this was not intentional. In such situations, our crew would have happily resolved it immediately if informed.
The dinghy transfer and the short snorkelling stop are both clearly explained in the activity description. This experience is not a snorkelling tour, but a relaxed sailing trip with a brief swim/snorkel break when conditions allow.
We do appreciate your very kind words about our crew, their care, attention, and multilingual skills are something we take great pride in.
Considering the overall experience, the exceptional wildlife encounter, and the service provided, we feel the rating does not fully reflect the quality of the trip delivered.

My wife and our friend were unable to go because we.were not aware that the trip included a dingy transfer from the beach to the catamaran. When my husband booked the trip he mentioned that some of the party had walking sticks. Obviously my wife and her friend were not able to safely transfer in a dinghy as there was no life jackets to fit either bigger than a large size This was very annoying and a waste of money, Which I hope that you will refund the two persons who couldn't go on the trip. I myself sustained a cut leg during transfer from catamaran to the dingy. I have had to visit the pharmacy to get some dressings to cover and protect the two cuts.

Thank you for your feedback. We would like to clarify several points, as the review does not accurately reflect what happened.
1. The dinghy transfer is clearly stated in our tour description and is the only possible way to reach the catamaran from the beach. This information is provided upfront precisely so guests with mobility limitations can make an informed decision before booking.
2. We carry life jackets in multiple sizes, up to XL. The statement that “no size bigger than large exists” is incorrect. All safety equipment was available, and our crew followed standard maritime procedures at all times.
3. Our team immediately offered assistance and first aid regarding your minor cut. That help was declined. It is therefore misleading to imply that no support was provided.
4. Your refund was processed exactly as requested.
Although the late cancellation meant we lost two seats that could have been sold to other guests, we still refunded the full amount for both passengers who chose not to board. We never force participation, guest comfort and safety always come first.
It is disappointing to receive a negative review under these circumstances, especially after the refund was issued promptly and our team acted correctly and professionally throughout.
We are always committed to fairness, but it is important that reviews reflect the actual experience and not assumptions or misunderstandings.

Good communication so we knew where to meet the tour, we were looked after from start to finish by Welsey and Alex, I felt sea sick but they looked after me. We were lucky enough to see dolphins, drinks on tap and snacks. Then went snorkeling to see the Jesus statue, they put food in so all the fish came to use. Great experience, plenty of places for shade too

Good way to chill and watch the island of Sal drift by. Unfortunately we saw no wildlife on our trip, but it's a big expanse of water so nothing can be guaranteed. The crew were all friendly and looked after us well. You need to take note that you're ferried out to the Catamaran via a dinghy so getting off that and onto the main boat can be "interesting" but the crew give you plenty of instructions, help and encouragement. All-in-all a very pleasant afternoon.

This was a wonderful experience and the highlight of our trip. We were met by the team and took a dinghy to the catamaran. Here we chose a spot to sit and enjoy the journey. We were provided with drinks and snacks, which included nuts and pastries.
We were fortunate to spot flying fish and many dolphins. There was an option to swim off the back of the boat, chill on board or go snorkeling in the bay to see the underwater statue.
The crew and captain really went out of their way to make this a really enjoyable trip. We highly recommend it!

Half day catamaran trip with free drinks and snacks, well small bowl of nuts 😆. Staff really friendly and knew what they were doing, made for a good trip, pity we didn’t see any dolphins, whales or sharks but not their fault. Bit of snorkelling at the end was a bit of a disappointment as it was by the harbour we docked in.

Our catamaran cruise off the coast of Sal, Cape Verde was simply exquisite and breathtaking—an unforgettable wedding anniversary getaway. Wesley and the entire crew were the perfect hosts, ensuring our mimosas, favorite beverages, and delicious snacks were continuously served with a smile. As we relaxed on the open sea, we were treated to the most natural and healing chromotherapy and thalassotherapy imaginable. The sun, sea, and vibrant blues created a dreamlike atmosphere that soothed the soul. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, making this experience nothing short of magical. Pure bliss on water—we couldn’t have asked for a better celebration.

A nice half day trip idea surrounded by the sea. The catamaran is cozy with drinks/snacks and a toilet. Daniel was very friendly and helped us with everything. We got drinks and snacks served which was great. There is swimming/snorkeling option at the end and we saw fish in the water. Unfortunately no dolphin/turtle siting - but that's fine. The catamaran has three spots- the netting and surrounding, and spot on the top. The spots below were taken before we reached but the spot on the top wasn't too bad either. There were 12 people on our catamaran. The pickup/dropoff included most of resorts including Melia Dunas, Tui Blue, Hilton etc.
Carry swimsuit and towel, and be prepared for the small boat ride to/from catamaran.

Had a great day on the boat, the staff were brilliant and super friendly! We had the added bonus of seeing dolphins and a turtle which the staff were great and finding and pointing out for everyone. A highlight was snorkelling at the end near an underwater Jesus statue with plenty of fish to see. I would definitely recommend
