Anouar was a gracious host. He and his family have a very warm and welcoming home. The meal was outstanding (less of a cooking class and more of a demonstration- you get to do a couple of things but his mother and sister in law do much of the cooking). You get to see how proper Moroccan tea is made (2 different herbs). In addition to what is listed as part of the experience, they shared their own meal with us so that we could taste extra dishes as it was our first night in Morocco!
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Dear Seth, Thanks so much for your kind review and the helpful feedback. We’re really glad you enjoyed the food, the tea, and the warm welcome from our family.
I totally get what you mean about the hands-on part. With some traditions, like baking Amazigh bread in the clay oven, we’re extra careful because the oven gets very hot. We always give the option to get involved safely, but we also want everyone to feel comfortable. Your note is helpful, and we’ll make sure to keep encouraging guests to jump in where they feel ready.
Really happy we could share some extra dishes with you too, thanks again for spending time with us!
Hope the rest of your trip was wonderful.
All the best,
Anouar, Mama & the whole family

Wonderful afternoon with a local family watching them cook Tagine and bread and perform an extended tea making process. Everything was delicious, everyone was friendly. Could not recommend more highly.

Dear Carl, Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re so glad you enjoyed your afternoon with us watching the tagine and bread come together, sharing the tea ritual, and feeling the warmth of our home.
It was a pleasure hosting you, and we’re delighted everything was delicious and welcoming. We hope the rest of your time in Rabat was just as wonderful!
You’re always welcome back.
Warmly,
Anouar & Family

During our stay in Rabat we decided to dedicate half a day to an experience that we highly recommend if you want to immerse yourself in the Moroccan atmosphere.
In the morning, before meeting, we were asked what we wanted to cook as a main course. We chose vegetarian couscous and they were very willing to accommodate our request.
During the afternoon, Anouar and his family welcomed us warmly in their house and made us feel as if we were a part of their family.
First, we prepared the Amlou cream using the typical Amazigh tool. Then the father taught us all the secrets to prepare the perfect Moroccan tea and the mother gave us all the tricks to make the best couscous. We were also very lucky to see how the Amazigh bread is prepared and cooked on a wood-fired oven. At the end of the dinner we were also able to try the typical Amazigh clothes. It was all delicious and it was really nice to spend an afternoon in their company drinking tea (and also coffee 😂), exchanging recipes of Italian and Moroccan cuisine and chatting a bit about the various cultural specialties.
Anouar and his friend who run the service are really nice and kind, they are able to involve you and make you feel at ease.
I absolutely recommend you to do this experience with them, it is worth it and the price is also very convenient.

Dear Federica, What a joy to read your review, thank you for taking the time to share your experience in such detail. We loved welcoming you into our home and are so glad you felt like part of the family.
It was a pleasure preparing vegetarian couscous together, grinding amlou with the traditional tools, and sharing tea and bread-making secrets with you. We also really enjoyed our cultural exchange chatting about Italian and Moroccan cuisines made the afternoon even more special for us, too!
Your kind words mean the world to us. We hope your travels bring you back to Morocco one day our kitchen will always be open to you.
