An absolutely fantastic day from start to finish!! The trail was just beautiful and just a wonderful way to see NZ.
As a family activity I would highly recommend it. The staff were terrific to deal with. Both on the day and beforehand. I would highly recommend this activity.

We loved it! Pedal assist from the ebikes was perfect - scenery beautiful and it was challenging but fun
We did manage to get lost at one point but that was user error

Third year in a row that I’ve gone with these guys. Fantastic as always and the ride back to Queenstown is amazing.

GReat outdoor activity. Very easy trails and some difficult ones as the tour guide explais taking you up to Arrow town.
Plan on a fun day. We actually took a wrong turn but got back on another trail and enjoyed the ride. Everything is marked but if youre not looking for the arrows and signs you might miss your turn but dont worry...very easy to get to Queenstown. Enjoy

Having booked the 12 o'clock tour it was only when we arrived at the drop off point we were told that we only had time to do one route back to Queenstown. This was very disappointing as the literature/maps made it sound that you could choose a number of different ways back via vineyards etc. We also wanted to do the return route along the side of the lake but was told this had been blocked off for months. We were told we had to get going immediately from Arrowtown, so we were unable to look around the town. They even wanted us to drop our bikes at their headquarters and walk back into town rather than finishing at Queenstown gardens as advertised.

What a beautiful day we had. Brittany was a delight to drive us and pick us up. She was so helpful anytime we called her on the way for more directions. Highly recommend doing this amazing activity.

Nice ride!
Discuss route options with the experienced shuttle driver. We had excellent route (and places to stop) suggestions from Brittany. There are several possible routes which vary in length, climbing, and on trail vs. some on road/bike lane.

The track is difficult in parts even with an e bike. Ascents are sometimes short but impossibly steep. The route is well marked but if you are on your own there are a number of ambiguous turnings. I missed one and had to retrace my way some distance! The bikes are VERY HEAVY
Victor_G, Oct 2025
Excellent trip. Would do it again. eBike was a good choice as there were some hills to conquer. Trail was easy to follow.
Catherine_W, Oct 2025
It was beautiful. However we should have packed snacks as there was not any obvious food points until we were 10km from finish. The bikes were excellent. Our instructor was extremely enthusiastic and helpful! Thank you Lamce!

For all ages and levels of fitness. Fun to do with friends in a safe environment. Close to nature and away from the traffic. Seeing what you can not see in a car. Ability to stop when you want and at your own pace.

I did the ride to riches track today. Even in the wintertime it is absolutely breathtaking. The scenery, kindness of staff, and care from the team at Going Blue makes this well worth doing!
The equipment is top notch, modern (This was a Bosch Powerfly e-bike) which made the trip much easier and allowed me to take time to stop throughout this journey at my leisure to take photos and rest.
The instructions are clear and help us on hand when it is needed. If I could a higher rating than 5/5 I definitely would!

Best Day!! What an awesome way to see beautiful South Island. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a great day out. So much fun

Awesome day, heaps of fun, even for my wife who hasn't ridden a bike for 30 years.
The communication was great from booking, during and after our ride.
Our bikes were top quality Trek bikes. We passed others with e-bikes and I'd be surprised if they made it home 😁
We got dropped off at Arrowtown at 10am and left there about 11:30. Lance was excellent and ensured we understood the bikes and the trails. We did the Ride to Riches trail. We stopped for lots of photos as the scenery was stunning. The weather was cold on June 6th, but we both wore thermals, good gloves and beanies and were warm enough. The ebikes mean you don't raise a sweat if you don't want to. My wife used turbo mode the whole way and had heaps of battery life left.
We stopped at the Boat Shed Cafe close to Queenstown and had the best brownie ever plus a delicious biscoff oatmilk latte.
We made it ba k to the drop off point by 3:30, so there's definitely time to stop for lunch or spend more time in Arrowtown.
We both highly recommend this activity and Going Blue Queenstown.

Enjoyable experience. Everything is explained well, and were provided google map locations for pick up and drop off. Pick up was on time, and we were provided maps and explanations of what to do. I enjoyed taking in the sites at my own pace, without a group. I would recommend this outing.

Fun day with some amazing scenery thrown in. Good bikes to ride and great places to stop.Only issue we had was locating the drop off spot
Response from Host, Feb 2025
Hi Eddie,
Thanks for your review! We're glad you had a great day and enjoyed the bikes and scenery.
Regarding the drop-off spot, we do our best to make it as clear as possible by sending a Google Maps link via email and WhatsApp, as well as providing a map with detailed instructions during the briefing. The drop-off is at 16 Park Street, right by the Queenstown Gardens entrance, and we’re always available by phone if you need assistance.
We’ll continue to refine our process to ensure it’s as smooth as possible for everyone. Thanks again for joining us, and we hope to see you on another adventure!
Cheers,
Jay 🚴♂️

Overall, we had a great time (one reason for the four stars instead of five was that it rained nearly all day). Tour guide Petra was very professional and did her best to assist us whenever we got lost. The blue-green river, ravines and bridges of Allentown and the surrounding region were dazzling. Witnessed some very entertaining bungee jumping activity! After the bike trek, we visited a cozy winery that served scrumptious, locally made cheeses.
Response from Host, Feb 2025
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! We're so glad to hear that, despite the rain, you had a great time exploring the dazzling scenery, crossing the bridges, and even catching some entertaining bungy jumping action! 🌧️🌉
Petra will be thrilled to hear your kind words about her professionalism and assistance—she’s a gem on our team. 😊 And we agree, wrapping up the day with scrumptious cheeses at the cozy winery is always a treat!
We’d love to welcome you back for another adventure (hopefully with better weather next time!).
Cheers,
Jay

Concept, operator and experience were all first class, the local councils or govt who put in the bike paths also need a wrap, scenery you pass along the way is amazing
Response from Host, Feb 2025
Thank you so much for your amazing review! We're thrilled to hear you had a first-class experience with us. 🚴♂️ Big shoutout to the Queenstown Trail Trust for their incredible work on the bike paths—they’ve truly created something special with those scenic trails!
We’d love to have you back for another adventure. Thanks again for your kind words!
Cheers,
Jay

At first I was a little apprehensive as it was a rainy day but the tour guide said it would be fine and the rest of the group planned on doing the ride too. I’m so glad I ended up joining the activity as it was some of the best views of Queenstown’s surrounding area. Highly recommend the E bikes as they were so much fun! Awesome day
Response from Host, Jan 2025
Thank you so much Susanne! Hope to see you back for more adventure. All the best from the team at Going Blue.

The views on this bike tour were incredible: riding across many bridges and a large suspension bridge was amazing. We rented the E-bikes- first timers. The company and guide were great and gave us wonderful instructions: this full ride to Queenstown was quite far for 2 of us (who are not bikers). Total ride was about 21.5 miles. My husband who is a road biker and former triathlete was completely fine- daughter (21 and very fit) and I (56 medium fitness level) really struggled to get to the end. We took a short cut and reduced by a few miles: would have been perfect to end at the lunch spot: 11th street cafe was lovely: it was a bit rough to finish after that break. Would recommend this to any bikers who are used to being in the saddle for about 4 hours. Some of the most gorgeous scenery you will see. The bikes are as described- top notch. Bike path is really well maintained and you are only off it for a short time. Loved seeing the alpacas and sheep.
Response from Host, Jan 2025
Thank you so much for this detailed review, Michelle. We're so glad you enjoyed the experience. Sounds like you really made the most of it! All the best and hope to have you back for another adventure soon.

We had the most wonderful time e-cycling from Arrowtown to Queenstown. The shuttle driver that drove us to our starting point was brilliant and full of information on the area. The route from Arrowtown to QT is mostly downhill with very few uphill grades and those are made easier by the e-bike’s power. Any downhill grades that are a little steeper can be managed by feathering your brakes. We had time to have lunch at Frank’s 11th Avenue Cafe and still make it back to QT well before the 4.30pm bike drop off time.
Response from Host, Jan 2025
Awesome! Thanks so much for the review, Mark. It means a lot to us. Your tips are very helpful too. We hope for the chance to have you back for more adventures!

This is a great experience! The scenery is great. You get a good variety environment - some hills, some shades and open land. This is our first time riding ebikes and it is pretty easy to pick up... Highly recommend this tour.
Response from Host, Jan 2025
Thanks Simon! Really appreciate your review and so glad you enjoyed the experience. Hopefully see you again next time! Take care.
Cloe_R, Dec 2024
This is an excellent experience - so much fun for everyone. Make sure you stop at 11th avenue for lunch. The pizza is out of this world!
Response from Host, Jan 2025
Thanks Cloe 🙏🏼 We agree, the food there is unreal! So glad you had a great time. All the best from the team at Going Blue
Jamie_G, Dec 2024
Great cycle adventure - first time with an ebike, making it so much easier on the hills. Travelling at own pace was also good as could stop whenever/wherever. Great briefing and trip to arrowtown
Response from Host, Jan 2025
Thank you Jamie. Glad you enjoyed the freedom of exploring at your own pace. Looking forward to seeing you back for more adventures!

This was a great adventure. Fantastic bikes. Beautiful country and sights. Bums were sore but well worth it!
Response from Host, Nov 2024

We’re thrilled you felt it was well worth it and hope to see you again for another great ride soon!

Awesome experience riding from Arrowtown! Easy riding on the e-bike and the trails are well marked. Plenty of scenic photo opportunities. Gloves are a must in winter as the shaded parts of the valley can be cold.
Response from Host, Aug 2024
Hey! Thank you so much for this review. We agree, gloves are an absolute must! So glad you enjoyed the experience. All the best from the team at Going Blue.
Rosarina_T, Apr 2024
From the moment we hopped on to the shuttle bus to hopping on our bikes, we knew it would be an awesome experience! We road from Arrowtown to Queenstown, exploring the sites and scenery along the way. We also stopped for lunch at 11th Avenue by Franks in Lake Hayes, then continued on our way. Our two teenage boys had a blast and so did we! Highly recommend this experience!
Response from Host, May 2024
Thank you for sharing your fantastic experience! Reviews like yours honestly mean the world to us and keep us thriving. We really can't thank you enough. We look forward to hosting you again if we ever get the opportunity. All the best from the team at Going Blue.
Danika_H, Feb 2024
Amazing trail, beautiful views. Would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys biking/scenic views visiting the areas. Only improvement would be to provide rain guards on the bike tires since it was down-pour rain on our ride and we couldn’t cancel. Otherwise great ride!
Response from Host, Feb 2024
Thanks for the review Danika! Thank you for your fantastic feedback! We're thrilled to hear that you found the trail amazing with beautiful views. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we're glad you enjoyed the ride despite the weather.
We appreciate your suggestion about rain guards on the bike tires, and we'll certainly take that into consideration for future improvements. Thanks for choosing Going Blue, and we hope to welcome you back for more biking adventures!
Jessica_B, Jan 2024
Beautiful bike ride and super fun with the E bike. You still do a little peddling so I recommend the E bike as well as that the tour guide will also pick you up if needed. Amazing service and tour guides also!
Response from Host, Jan 2024
Thanks, Jessica! We're glad you enjoyed the ride. Your review means a lot to us. Looking forward to hosting you again 🙌🏽

Good bike paths to follow, great scenery to enjoy. Information provided was limited, was told of a few food venues to stop but first two venues were closed, couldn’t locate the next two and the fifth was about to close when I arrived.
Response from Host, Dec 2023
Dear Emily_R,
Thank you for taking the time to review our eBike Adventure from Arrowtown to Queenstown. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the bike paths and the stunning scenery along your journey.
We're sorry to learn about the issues you faced regarding the information on food venues. Providing detailed maps and recommendations is part of our commitment to enhancing your experience. However, given the dynamic nature of business hours for the 25 restaurants and bars we suggest, it can be challenging for us to keep track of their current opening times.
This is precisely why we have our contact numbers prominently displayed on both the maps and the bikes. We encourage our guests to call us for real-time assistance. Our team is always ready to provide updated information, alternative options, and any support you might need during your adventure. It’s important for us that you feel supported at every step of your journey, and we regret this wasn't clear in your case.
Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve our communication and services. We hope to welcome you again and provide a smoother, more informed experience.
Merry Xmas,
Jay
