This is a great trail to...

We arrived at Shebikeshebikes and were greeted by friendly staff, we were given our bikes for a test ride before loading up and being driven from Clyde to Cromwell to start our ride. Our driver was great and gave us some history on the way. This is a great trail to ride, it is well maintained but is not a sealed track. It is two way traffic, but we did not encouter any issues as everyone is well spread out along the trail. Take plenty of water and sunblock as there is no shade along the trail. For most part the trail is easy to ride if you are confident on a bike. The hill climb can be a little more challenging for a novice due to some of the sharp turns. We did encounter some riders on non e-bikes pushing on the steeper up hill sections.

Bikes were excellent, service was excellent, highly recommended. The Lake Dunstan trail itself exceeded all expectations, coffee at Carrick and lunch at the boat were both fantastic.

Wow, what a great review! So pleased you enjoyed yourselves. The Lake Dunstan Trail certainly is world class complemented by Carrick Winery and Coffee and Burger Afloat. Later this year the region will have the Kawarau Gorge Trail and the Roxburgh Gorge Trail will be able to be cycled the whole way (currently you need a jetboat trip for the centre section).

We loved this bike ride. The views were incredible and the water was a beautiful sapphire blue the whole day. We thought about using regular bikes but are thankful we used the ebike option because some of the elevation would have been pretty challenging. We highly recommend doing this.

Thanks for taking the time to review us. I can only agree that the Lake Dunstan Trail can take your breath away with it's vista's.... and it's ascents. The E-Bike option certainly helps with being able to take it all in rather than concentrating on being able to make it to the end.
