Wonderful tour whether you're a casual viewer of the movies or an in-depth aficionado. The tour was part in-depth visits to LOTR movie locations, and part wonderful scenic tour of the greater Queenstown area. Benjy was informative and accommodating and made the tour a delight. We went so many places in a relatively short amount of time.

We had a great experience with Benji today! He was super knowledgeable about The Lord of the Rings original films from 25 years ago. He knew about the actors, the director, the scenes and so much vast knowledge about behind the scenes little stories. After today we can’t wait to watch all of the movies again!

Eby was our guide and he was very enthusiastic and knowledgable. We got to get out of the van to experience locations. I’d watched the how they made the movies dvds years ago but I still learnt some new things. My son is a big fan of the movies and he was not disappointed. Handling some swords was cool. Queenstown is amazing.

Excellent way to spend an afternoon. Our family has both hardcore LotR fans and not, yet everyone had a great time. Krieg was an awesome tour guide. He really knows how to engage everyone on the tour, was knowledgeable about surrounding areas and movies, and had pictures to help us non-fans really visualize things. Plus the region is just plain beautiful. This is a good one, definitely a highlight of our trip.

We had such a fantastic time on the Half Day in Middle-earth – Lord of the Rings Tour. We joined this tour in March as a group, and it was an unforgettable adventure from start to finish.
It was a real pleasure to meet such a super knowledgeable and passionate (in the best way!) team. Their love for The Lord of the Rings truly shines through, and they made the experience both informative and incredibly fun. We spent half a day exploring the magical locations where the movies were filmed, learning fascinating behind-the-scenes stories and details that only true fans could share.
Being able to interact with props and fully immerse ourselves in the experience made us feel like we were truly stepping into Middle-earth. It was engaging, well-organized, and filled with moments that made us smile the entire time.
We absolutely recommend this tour to any LOTR fan — it’s a must-do experience and makes you feel like part of a real Fellowship.

Our guide Eby was nothing short of legendary. Knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the world of Tolkien, they led us through Queenstown’s stunning LOTR filming locations with the ease of seasoned Rangers, even if we started the tour with a bit of a bad weather. Every stop came with stories, behind-the-scenes gems, and plenty of laughs.
The landscapes were magical, the atmosphere unforgettable, and the whole experience felt like an adventure fit for the Fellowship.
If you’re in Queenstown and even remotely a fan of LOTR (or just breathtaking scenery), this tour is truly one tour to rule them all. Highly recommended!

Shane did a great job going over where multiple scenes were shot in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. He’s detailed and very Nerdy. Have fun with the costumes and enjoy the tour. It’s well worth it.

This was the most amazing way to get around Queenstown and see the most beautiful sites! The views were stunning, transportation was excellent, and the tour itself is perfectly curated for the LotR nerds! I was blown away by the quality of service and attention to detail on this tour. This tour was a great way to not only explore the surrounding areas of Queenstown, but also to visit some of the places where The Lord of the Rings was filmed at. Our tour guide, Ben, was very engaging throughout, and helped take great pictures from the various stopping points. This was a fun tour to take, especially if you’re a Lord of the Rings fan, but even if you aren’t too familiar with the series, there were beautiful places that we explored that are worth checking out in this tour.

Shane was incredible! 10 out of 10. Shane customized for the experience for the group and made sure everyone had a good time, regardless of their level of Lord of the rings knowledge. If you are not an avid Lord of the Rings fan this tour still has good value. It was fun, interesting, and took us to some beautiful places that we would not have otherwise enjoyed. Annie was our guide and really enjoyed telling about the Lord of the Rings. She made the tour fun even though we were not knowledgeable fans.

Excellent experience! Loved all the sites we saw where our tour guide had pictures from the movies so you could see the comparison. The best part was playing with actual replica swords and props. It was fun to review the movie scripts as well. You will LOVE this tour. Well worth it.

An absolutely fantastic tour with our friendly, knowledgeable guide Francesco. Great for LOTR nerds with lots of extras to supplement the views, but even my husband who has zero interest in LOTR thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Definitely a highlight of our trip to NZ.
