It was a lovely day trip. Ferry is on time, the crews are very helpful, polite too. When we got to the shore, the island is amazing. We are going back soon and this time, we will stay the night. Food at the bistro is beautiful too.

It was good, a ferry across to the island, we were given some snorkel gear and you could rent other items (cabana, kayaks etc). After that we were left to ourself found a nice spot on the island before coming back for abit of lunch and the ferry back.

Wonderful day the only fault was air con was not turned on or working downstairs on crowded boat back to yeppoon so very hot trip. Otherwise staff were wonderful. Staff should really be the last to board and last to find seats. Having worked on an island resort previously my boss was a stickler for crew go last and give up their seats for paying guests.

It was awesome and got looked after.
Just a pity we weren’t there long enough to explore the coral reef and fish. Heaps of stingrays and coral fish with gaint travelleys aswell

Excellent experience and definitely worth visiting. It's a great place to snorkel or just relax by the beach. We hiked and saw the super quiet side of Keppel Island so that was nice.

Went across on the ferry with my wife as part of a deal. Return ferry/ lunch and a drink and snorkeling ( if wanted.) All up 7 hours. (Bit long for us) enjoyed the beach and sand and also the lunch. Needs some TLC. Looks to be a little rundown. Booked an earlier ferry ( were there for around 5 hours, which was enough for us. Rang up and changed our ferry return time to 2 hours earlier. They neglected to tell us the drop off point may not be the pickup point due to tidal changes and the ferry’s access to the beach. Need to keep an eye out for that. Great day anyway.

We had a great time over at Great Keppel Island with our 2 children. It’s a beautiful spot! I highly recommend the experience.
We were really impressed with the lunch provided over at the island.

Horrible experience! Day started off terribly. Viator meeting instructions were incorrect. Stated to meet at the green shed-there is NO green shed.l-Viator see photo attached and update your instructions!! Turns out it has been painted bright yellow!!! Absolutely NO signage as other reviewers have indicated. Very stressful start to the day trying to find the place due to incorrect instructions. The island resort is very run down and tired. Lots of construction work going on. Most of the island except for the small area around hideaways looks abandoned and is all locked up behind chain link fencing. Bush walking tracks are very poorly maintained and the signage is non existent! On the trails I did there were lost people everywhere asking for directions. Most trail entrances have signs stating the track is dangerous-very off putting. Most people seemed to turn around and not complete as they were afraid of getting lost. Food was average-husband had to return his burger as the bacon on it was literally raw-chef came out and apologised and replaced it. If the weather isn’t beach weather-and you are not an experienced bush walker this island isn’t for you-there is NOTHING else to do. All the day trip people sat around the restaurant most of the time looking very bored-overheard lots of disappointed day trippers. I’ve used Viator a lot over the years but this is the second awful tour I’ve done with them in a row-the incorrect meeting instructions is the final straw for me-I will just book direct with providers from now on-these third party booking agencies offer no value. Only saving grace was we were allowed to catch the early ferry home and lots of other day trippers took this option. Only go to this island on a sunny day-dont book ahead-there are ferries you can book the morning of-that way you won’t get stuck on this run down disappointment of an island unless it’s a nice day.

The works you saw are part of a major upgrade, including the building of new guest cabins to enhance future stays. While these improvements will bring new life to the island, we understand that the current works can feel disruptive, and we’ll work on better communicating this in advance to visitors.
Your feedback about the bushwalking trails, safety signage, and limited options has been shared with our operations team so we can improve maintenance, wayfinding, and activity variety.
Regarding your dining experience, we sincerely apologize for the undercooked bacon and are glad our chef replaced the meal promptly, but we recognize this should not have happened at all.

Easy to book. Easy to check in. Beautiful and quick navigation to great keppel island. Inside the ferry or outside on the deck. Getting your snorkel gear or a canoe or wetsuits, etc is easy and quick as well. Really nice staff on the boat and on the island. We did the bush walks to long beach and monkey beach. Beautiful. Then snorkeled at monkey beach. Saw a reef shark, 2 turtles, a stingray and some fish but water was a bit cold. Then we had lunch included in the tour. It was very good. Beware of the seagulls! Very good day on GKI. Don’t forget your sunscreen.

The whole day was amazing. Beaches are gorgeous, staff were friendly and accomadating. Snorkelling brilliant. Lunch was fantastic and overlooking the beach was amazing

The tour is really just a boat transfer with snorkeling gear and lunch included.
Staff were very friendly and boat was comfortable.
We did the tour with our two young daughters. Had to wait 30 minutes to get the snorkelling gear. Then had to walk about 40 minutes over a mountain to find a snorkelling spot. This was fun but challenging with carrying all the gear and ensuring the kids ween’t injured.
The island is beautiful and worth the trip. Reef was average for the effort.
Then we had the queue again 30 minutes to order our included lunch.
Overall we all enjoyed the trip. Just didn’t feel it was value for money.

Easy boat ride for kids aged 6-15. Great adventure to the snorkeling beach - they could snorkel off the beach and see reef, turtles, sting rays. Gear all worked well and the people were friendly and gave great advice. Good mobility is necessary for the hike over! The lunch place on the island was also great.

The beaches and water clarity. Disappointing food experience. We ordered burgers and they came to us in about 3-4 minutes wrapped in foil which I thought a little strange but concluded they had to have been precooked. Upon unwrapping and lifting the burger I noticed that the bun was very cold as if it had come out of a refrigerator. I returned the burger the young server apologised and said she would have the attended to????. 3 minutes later the burger was returned and the bun at best was mildly lukewarm at least not cold. Very disappointing given the rest of the day.

Service from the ferry crew was friendly and excellent. We were entitled to free snorkel gear or an hours paddle boarding or an hours kayaking.. As there were 2 of us, they allowed us to use a combination. So we shared snorkeling and SUPing. The young man at the kiosk even offered to help carry the heavy board. The lunch was delicious too!

The walking tracks to remote beaches. Perhaps state govenment could put in some cash to upgrade the walking tracks, there is potential to snap an ankle. Several paths are steep and slippery. For families this needs attention. Despite this the experience was memorable and I would go back.

Had a great time snorkelling got to see some turtles. Lunch was delicious and the coffee was great. All the staff are friendly and the dive shop staff are fantastic.
