Incredible experience at a great price, Brendon was an absolutely amazing guide who made us feel safe at all times while encouraging us to have some fun and live up the moment. He knew the good spots to eat at in Luquillo Beach and had connections to get discounts on the Jet Ski rentals there. A Must Do Activity.

Super fun!! Angel was the best. True local. Lots of walking and being outside so time of year is important due to weather. Bring a change of clothes and SOCKS FOR THE FOREST!
Triska_A, Aug 2026
Bus was extremely hot-NO AIR. Bus ride was hour and half picking up other. We filled the bus with 24 people, which made it very very hot. Everyone was sweating. We were not informed of no air or the long drive to the forest. It’s NOT BEGINER LEVEL. We had people they didn’t know how to swim and no one was there to help you cross over from first slide. Terrain was so unlevel and dangerous, it was very hard on our knees. With no air most of us couldn’t and paid high uber fees to leave from the area of 50 bars and restaurants! By the time we picked everyone up we only had a little over an hour to shop eat and drink. No time for the beach located directly behind the strip of restaurants. They charged us $30 per person for transportation and one only ended up using one way transportation instead of round trip! This needs to be better planned and the BUS NEEDS AIR!! TEMPERATURES WERE IN THE 90’s. Bus was was great! Music perfect and keep apologizing for the air but when we arrived all busses had windows down so I believe they were trying to fix the air in any of the buses from this company. He told me they do trips 7 days a week. The air is a problem and needs to be fixed & addressed. I’m asking for a refund for the one way trip coming back for five people because there was no way we could sit another hour and a half with no air!! $15 per person=$75!!

Great experience! Not much walking, just a quick path to the waterslide and then to the beach afterwards. Israel was a great guide, ensuring we all had fun and made the most of the experience. You should definitely wear a bathing suit and get water shoes are well.

TRANSPORTATION BY THE BUS WAS THE BIGGEST LETDOWN.
When you are travelling about 4 hours out of 9 hrs for about 80 miles or so , bus condition matters
Deeply disappointed by the transport experience in particular
#There was, for most part of the journey, a strong smell of PETROL inside the vehicle causing a bitter odour. We mentioned this to Ryan at the Las Frutas halt ( or wherever we halted after leaving San juan and before the water fall)
# The drivers cabin doesnt have effective air conditioning in the bus we were travelling causing Ryan to keep the driver's window open there by reducing the effect of the air conditioning. Effectively we were in an non - AC vehicle throughout. We mentioned this to Ryan who mentioned that we needed to bring it your notice plus that of service partner as well. He couldn't do much about it any ways.. Like for the petrol smell
Aircon was A BIG LET DOWN
# An audio / Mike system would help Ryan or any guide who is talking/ shouting and driving at the top of his voice due to ambient road and inside noises. We were in the front rows and were having problems hearing what he was saying. I wonder what the rear seaters could hear
# Since the day trip involves nearly 4 hours of travelling, a poor vehicle translates to an even poorer experience
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We appreciate your notes regarding the vehicle and comfort during transit, though we do want to clarify that the drive to El Yunque is about an hour each way. While managing tropical heat and road noise can be a balancing act, our team works hard to keep equipment running properly and ensure everyone stays informed. We'll certainly review your comments on bus conditions and audio with our operations team, and are happy to hear about Ryan's efforts to deliver a safe, clear, and energetic tour.

The tour was so much fun. Great communication with pick up and drop off, which made it less stressful for me, going on this trek solo. Our tour guide was super nice and patient and made everyone’s safety a priority. But most of all it was a beautiful, super fun afternoon in the rainforest and the mountains.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Thank you for the glowing review! We’re so glad our clear communication made solo travel stress-free, and that your guide prioritized safety while keeping the afternoon super fun. Hope to guide you again!

This is for those who are adventurous and who are in good physical shape. The hike had steep hills and rocks so be sure to watch your step. Wear the socks with traction. Our guide Anthony was great and he took good care of us The water was exhilarating. My entire family did the 1st slide but only my oldest son did the bigger slide.
I could've stayed at the beach all day. The water was beautiful and calm. There are plenty of restaurants and we had enough time to enjoy the beach.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Thank you for sharing your experience and the great advice for future guests! We’re glad Anthony took such good care of your group during the hike and that you enjoyed the invigorating water activities. Hope to see your family again!

Socks are better to wear to the rainforest than water shoes! Water slides rocks can be Very slippery and water shoes didn’t grip
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Thank you for the fantastic review and helpful pro-tip! Socks definitely make navigating the smooth rainforest rocks much easier. We appreciate you sharing this tip with future travelers!

Jeannette_D, Aug 2026
Mediocre at best. Picked us up at frutería Flores in a hot vehicle and took us to one spot in el yunque. Took 4 minutes to arrive at the slide and a water hole to jump off a rock. Could have done this completely on our own.
Dropped us off at Luquillo. What a joke. There’s no need for this part of the tour. Seemed so silly as we had a rental and should have drove ourselves instead of being dropped off in the hot bus. Dont waste your money unless you don’t have your own vehicle.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the transportation comfort and tour pacing did not meet your expectations. We aim to provide seamless service and an engaging guided experience, so we will be sharing your comments with our operations team to review our vehicle standards and tour routing.

Great experience in El Yunque. Most of the rainforest is still not open to the public due to Hurricane Maria years ago.
Things of note. It has a little hiking. Nothing crazy if you are somewhat in shape. If you don’t workout at all. You will feel it. Two, bring a pair of socks you don’t mind throwing out after. It will be muddy. Third, shoes. It will be muddy. Wear a pair of shoes you don’t mind getting destroyed from the mud. Weather it be regular sneakers, crocs or water shoes.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re so glad you had a great time visiting El Yunque and taking in the sights. We appreciate your recommendation and hope to guide you again!
Mary_M, Aug 2026
The water slides were a lot of fun and the guides were helpful in keeping everyone safe and together. The only thing missing was I would have loved to learn about the rainforest on the way. Luqiuillo was beautiful and had a variety of things to do.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Thank you for the helpful feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed Luquillo Beach and had a blast on the water slides. We appreciate your note regarding rainforest history and culture, and we’ll share this with our guides to incorporate more educational details along the way.
Rachel_S, Jul 2026
The experience overall was very fun. The rainforest was beautiful and I enjoyed the waterfalls, you will have fun on this trip. I will say the beach is not that pretty - not sure if because I am from Florida but the area seemed a bit dirty, and the physical shoreline was almost no existent. I was disappointed in that as I was expecting to be taken to one of the best beaches and it was nothing special. The shops we stop at were fine - but nothing special, I would have rather gone to a beautiful beach and all went to a recommended lunch spot. Our guides were fine - but they didn’t seem like true professionals, more like local guys. Overall I had fun but I wouldn’t say I’d go again.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad you enjoyed the rainforest and the waterfalls, but we appreciate your feedback about the beach area and shoreline. We strive to provide memorable excursions, and we hope to welcome you back for another adventure in the future!

I brought my daughter, my sister and a friend of ours for their first trip to Puerto Rico. I found this tour through Viator while planning what to do and it was very easy to book. We opted to meet up at Frontera Flores instead of getting picked up because we wanted the option to leave early just in case. Our tour guide was Tony. He was absolutely amazing! He was entertaining, funny, and very helpful throughout the tour. This was definitely worth the time and money.
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re so glad you, your daughter, sister, and friends had such an easy booking experience and enjoyed your trip into the rainforest. Hope to host your family again soon!

Overall the experience was a once in a lifetime must do at least one time. It took a hour to get to waterslides in el Yunque Rainforest. Remember to bring socks for grip and long shorts and sleeves to protect from the rocks. The life jackets were outdated and they ran out of life jackets for one person but they could swim. We stopped at the frutería store on the way there to use the restroom and buy water. You can wear tennis shoes or water shoes to get in the water. The bus A/C did not work and the guide was 30mins late to pick up at Luquillo beach but we had a good time. The group we had was cool, we got to hang out at the Luquillo beach for 2hours but mainly just walked and grabbed food. No time for jet ski’s. We stayed in the water for 20mins. I recommend going to the spot with the hot dogs, mini pancakes, and drinks. We liked our guide Israel for sharing instructions and facts about the rainforest. The slides were really fun but I wouldn’t recommend jumping off the last cliffs because some areas were not deep and when I jumped I hit the bottom too fast and hurt my ankle on the rocks. Luckily I wore two socks, and leggings to protect from the sun and rocks. I would rate 6/10 I survived but did not like how late the van was when going back home and no A/C so we had the windows down. Everyone passed out on the way back. Bring your water pouch to take videos and pictures at the rainforest. I felt safe to leave my stuff on the bus but you can bring it with you and leave on the rocks with a partner. The hike is slippery so make sure to look down always. Take your time but the group will leave you behind if you don’t make it to your pick up early. I think it was overpriced for this tour but it was fine because of the guide and group.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and advice for future guests. We appreciate your notes regarding life jackets and gear, and we are actively reviewing our equipment with our team to ensure everything is updated and fully stocked. We’re glad you got to experience the rainforest!

PapiChulo PapiChulo, PapiChulo! If your tour guide is not named PapiChulo, you have failed and should probably cancel your tour and schedule with him. This tour was so much fun, but the guide is what makes the difference. We saw plenty of other tours happening at the same time and none of them were having a better time than we were having. If you’re worried about the hike/slides, etc, like I was don’t be. I say that with the warning that if you do not feel like you can keep your balance on slippery rocks, you need to think about that. Personally, I think you’re better off wearing no shoes, as you will have more grip when walking around.
All of the stops along the tour are the perfect amount of time to let you enjoy the area without feeling like you are being rushed or just sitting around waiting. Papi Chulo will make you feel so welcomed from the moment the doors open on the tour bus! What a fun time!
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Wepa! 🇵🇷 Thank you for the awesome review! We’re so glad Ryan’s energy and guiding style made such a memorable difference in your trip. We truly appreciate the love, and hope to see you again soon!
Leslie_M, Jul 2026
I’ve been on tours like this multiple times but this was by far the worst. My guide papi chulo, a nickname he gave himself, (forgot his real name but I think it’s Ryan, he did say there’s two people with his name) was so uncomfortable to be around. I’m a 25 year old girl who had a birthmark on her neck. We went to the first stop to get food and drinks and Papi Chulo walked around giving us samples of food. He got my attention by saying “here hickey try this”. It’s something I’m very uncomfortable with and it’s something I’m sensitive about. I took a food sample and said “please don’t call me that I really don’t like it”. He laughed it off and was joking with other guests. Later in the day when jumping of the Clift in el yunque, my friend was recording me and as I jumped he said “hickey hickey hickey”. I got upset and yelled at him saying that I already asked nicely to stop saying that. It was incredibly humiliating and he said “I like to give out nicknames”. He called people “mamasita” and “ bonita” but I got “hickey”. It was humiliating and ruined the entire trip for me. I kept trying to have fun but he made me so uncomfortable and people kept trying to see my birthmark. I was clearly upset and later he told me I needed to take a joke. He’s rude. He ruined the day for me. In what world would anyone in my situation feel comfortable with that. I put up a boundary, asked nicely for him to respect it, and he made it a point to embarrass me in front of the rest of our group and all the other people who were in our area. I even heard other people in my group say “she should have covered it up that’s embarrassing” because they thought he was serious about it being a hickey. I wish I could have my money back. And he had the nerve to ask for a tip at the end. My friend even told him my name and said seriously don’t call her that and he kept doing it. How many times do I have to ask nicely before I need to yell at someone to respect me.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are deeply concerned by your comments, as providing a comfortable, safe, and respectful environment for every guest is our top priority. We take feedback like this very seriously and will be investigating this with our team immediately. Please reach out to us directly so we can speak with you further.
