We do not have time slots. We leave the port 45 minutes after your ship docks. Please disembark as quickly as possible and be at the pick-up location no more than 45 minutes after your ship docks. We can pick you up in: Amber Cove, Taino Bay, and within the Puerto Plata city, ours service included all hotel of the zone. Amber Cove: the pick up will be outside of the port, after the principal gate, left side of the avenue. About 10 to 12 minutes walk. Taino Bay: the pick up will be at the main entrance, at the right side of the taxi station, outside of the door. About 10 minutes walk.

If you’ve got extra time and want to spend some money then this excursion is fine. The ride isn’t particularly scenic and you arrive at a beach with overpriced beverages and too much litter. I may be spoiled because the day before I did the waterfall experience which is thrilling beyond words (and cheaper!). If you’re choosing between the two then do the waterfalls and it you have a day to kill then this is okay but ultimately forgettable.

This is a rip off. We actual rode the quads for a total of 42 minutes through a small town and on asphalt and dirt roads. The rest of our total 1 hr and 20 min was spent sitting at a beach where we got to spend $5 for a beer. If the ride is actually a total of 42 minutes then say 45 min not 3 hrs.

Only 3 stars instead of 5… we were on the trail having a great time on the ATVs when one of the guides drove to the back where my husband and kids were and told him to stop. My husband abruptly stopped and someone hit the back of him and he hit someone else in front. His back light was broken. At the end of the tour we were held hostage until we paid 45$ plus tax and card fees for the light. And we tipped beforehand!! Also when you stop at the beach for 30 min you just get haggled to buy things. It’s not even enjoyable. The food/fish is $20. I had fun on this tour except for this!!! I wish I could’ve given it 5 stars.

The tour was okay. There were some things that nature made not great, like the path was very flooded, so we were not able to go the original path, so I will not hold that against the tour guide. There were 8 of us 2 adults and 6 kids aging from 16-21. They loved the actual riding of the ATV and our guide was good. However, we arrived by 9 from the port and were done by 10:45. Not sure when 3 hour minimum was a thing. The beach stop was not relaxing and no drinks were offered to buy. We did not ride the ATVs on the beach, most of the trip was spent riding on blacktop. There was a very scary moment of crossing a busy road, where the drivers of the cars were not willing to stop, very risky moment. When we returned there was no ride waiting for us, we waited 45 minutes and luckily another big group was dropped off so we were able to take their cab back. All would have been fine but there was no offer for drinks or snacks while we waited which would’ve made it better. The guide, I think his name was Omar and the gentleman taking photos, he made the trip much safer for us in the return by helping the ATVs in the back stay safe in traffic. It was nice to see the town and countryside of DR but it was not like advertised. The 3 hours included the cab rides. The long wait for a return cab was not good, especially when it is a short port day. I want to support the Super Buggies business but they should look at offering drinks/snacks for after and Edwin transfer tour needs to make sure the transportation is arranged both ways and that the customers are truly getting 3 hours of riding. It was an experience that we will remember but for $760 plus tip I would have liked to have ride for 3 hours and had a cold beer or water while we waited for our ride.

The tour took us through the town and into the jungle. 45 minutes each way, so lots of time to drive the ATV. My boys are 8 and 12 and they had a blast.

The ATV tour was fantastic. Everyone was so nice and made the adventure so fun! I can’t recommend this enough. Edwin was so responsive and made it so easy for our family. We had our 17 and 19 year old with us and they had a blast driving their own ATV! A great way to see the beauty of the Dominican Republic!

About 10-15 minutes walk out of port to your left they will pick you up in a unique open truck, then they will drive for about 40 mins. to where you will meet with the ATVs; they will give a quick training in how to operate the ATV which is really easy. You will ride along main roads for about 5 mins, then off road, I didn’t get too dirty with mud because I avoid it, but you can get very muddy. Guide was very attentive, always looking for us, making sure everyone was following each other. There are another guys in another ATV which will block the traffic for us to cross the main roads and taking pictures of you running the ATV along the way, which he offered for $40. They will take you to a beautiful beach, which is undeveloped; so no full sanitary services, changing or shower facilities. They will give you around 15-30 mins. They will offer fresh fried fish or octopus with plantains and salad for $20. They also have local beer. The whole trip took about 2 1/2 hours. Edwin was very attentive, he went to meet us before the tour and sent us a thank you note at the end.

This ATV tour is not to be missed! Very good value for money and the ATVs are good quality reliable quad bikes that are automatic and easy to ride and manouvere. We were picked up off our cruise ship at Amber Cove port by a guy who squeezed our group of 4 into a mid size SUV. It takes about 40 minutes to get to the ATV place where our guide introduced himself and we signed waivers, were fitted for helmets etc. The tour itself lasts around 2.5 hours, starting off on the main local roads through small townships, progressing to off road tracks and then on to a small beach where you get a 20 minute break and can enjoy a local beer. Be prepared to be invaded by the usual street sellers peddling their trinkets, bottle openers, wood carvings etc! The route back in takes you through a wooded area and then back on a muddy track before driving back through local townships via a small river which was pretty cool. Overall a great experience and a superb way to spend a morning exploring the real sites of Puerto Plata.

Al comienzo de hacer la busqueda de este trip llame a Viator para confirmar unos detalles para mi grupo y ellos se comunicaron directamente Edwin el encargado de Super Buggies. El cual siempre respondio muy hablamente y claro. El dia de la excursion tienes que salir caminanado del area del puerto que son como 10 minutos. Y afuera encontraras muchas otras agencias esperando a turistas, entre ellos encontraras a Edwin o otro respresentante el cual te llevara a la camioneta sin cristales tipo todo terreno. Alli nos espero Ramon nuestro agente,rapido nos ofrecio una botella de agua y podiamos coger mas. Nos dio una calida bienvenida al igual que Edwin. El nos hablo en ingles y espanol muchos detalles de Santo Domingo incluyendo historia, deporte y poblacion. El fue exelente guia!. Tardamos como 30 munitos desde que nos montamos en la camioneta hasta que llegamos al lugar de los 4 track. Fue divertido por el camino pues ves parte de la cultura de Santo Domingo. Una vez que llegamos al lugar donde cogeriamos los vehiculos alli fueron muy amables, respetuosos y cuidadosos con nosotros, que eramos 12 personas en la excursion unos en 4 track y otros en buggies. Nos dieron los cascos limpios y los 4 track tambien estaban limpios, nuevos y en excelentes condiciones. Si llevas un bulto muy grande tendras que dejarlo alli a cargo de ellos y no hay locker. Yo en mi caso lleve un bulto pequeno y liviano de espalda y no hubo problemas. Ellos explicaron todo de como funcionaban los equipos y la seguridad por el camino. En el camino atravesamos en fila por las carreteras de por Puerto Plata para llegar a nuestro destino en tierra todo el tiempo escoltado por ellos. Todo el personal que fueron varios estuvieron muy respetuosos, muy pendiente de nosotros, muy dispuestos a yudar y protegiendonos por toda la travesia. Luego de 15 minutos entramos al area de tierra lo cual es muy divertida es seca y boscosa. Luego llegamos al area del mar y alli habian vendedores de recuerdos. Habia ademas una casita donde vendian pezcado, pulpo y carrucho fresco, ademas de ensalada, tostones y refrigerios bien frios. Alli estuvimos como 30 minutos o un poco mas. Fue perfecto llegar alli y disfrutar de buena comida, musica, buen ambiente, una vista espectacular y aunque no me meti al agua, te da tiempo de banarte en la playa. Luego al regresar por el mismo camino nos recibieron con una bebida deliciosa cultural dominicana para saciar la sed. Estamos muy satisfechos con el trip y recomendamos este trip por ser seguro, atentos, puntuales, respetuosos, divertido y el precio esta razonable para todo lo que hicimos.
