Breathtaking experience on the Surin Islands

Our 2 days / 1 night tent stay on the Surin Islands was an absolutely breathtaking experience from start to finish. The scenery is stunning, the island feels untouched and peaceful, and the snorkelling and wildlife were incredible - some of the best we’ve ever experienced, with crystal-clear water and vibrant marine life. In the water we saw all manner of marine life, including puffer fish, turtles and rays (sadly no sharks this time!), which made every snorkelling stop exciting and memorable. On land we were just as amazed, spotting monkeys, water monitors, flying squirrels, and even huge hermit crabs around the campsite and forest areas. Sleeping in a tent on such a beautiful, remote island really added to the adventure, and waking up surrounded by nature was unforgettable. The food was fairly average, but it didn’t take anything away from what was an overall amazing couple of days on a truly beautiful island. Pros: Super organized two day trip to the most beautiful snorkel spots. Several great and friendly companions, all top! Cons: The times stated in the itinerary have not been observed at all, I usually estimate about half as long as stated. In addition, many hundreds of tourists are driven simultaneously with several speedboads. Everybody's there at the same time. Snorkeling in the water: the sea littered with orange life jackets, totally crowded. Then overnight on the island: felt hundreds of tents, one next to the other. Dinner: hundreds of people at a time. Actually, I felt bad about being one of those locusts that together with hindered, grazed and destroyed thousands of this beautiful island... I understand that you want to make as much sales as possible; but it was just too much - and for about 500 dollars (2 people) I didn't expect this mass tourism :-(
