Disappointing tour

Very disappointing tour guide. He gave us very little to none information about the sites we visited. He just left us at the sites to “look around”. He took us to a diamond jewellery shop which wasn’t even on the itinerary and was of no interest to us. The Big Buddha site was closed for renovations and we were not able to enter it. The driver was very good and helpful. Overall, it felt like a wasted day as we didn’t learn about Phuket or its history.

As explained in the itinerary, guides provide general assistance and timing at each stop, while guests explore the sites on their own. Regarding the Big Buddha, it is currently closed by authrities, and visits are limited to the outside viewpoint only. This situation is beyond our control and is noted in the tour information. The stop you mentioned is a souvenir shop, which is a standard part of many shared city tours and is commonly included in the program. For guests who would like in-depth explanations, historical details, and a flexible schedule, we highly recommend booking a private full-day city tour, which allows for a more personalized experience. Don’t waste your time or money

Save your money and book a private driver to take you to these places. We spent more time in the vehicle taking other passengers to activities that weren’t part of this tour than at our activities. The tour guide was useless and said no more than 3 sentences at each location and then went off and did her own thing. One of the most disappointing tours of our trip. If I could have give no stars I would have.

Half day old town visit

This trip was good although would have liked to spend slightly longer at each stop. That being said, we did do 2 extra activities that were not advertised in the brochure. These were stopping to see the elephants with a baby that you could pay extra to feed and stopping at the tiger sanctuary where we paid extra to go in the enclosure to stroke a couple of tigers! Our tour guide Jack was really good, giving information about each part of the trip and timings to each one. It was worth the money as it was a packed afternoon exploring and experiencing some of the attractions Phuket has to offer in the comfort of an air conditioned minibus, with only 7 of us on board.

Good Excursion...a little touristy

This tour offered hotel pick up in Patong. We visited several sites. Wish we had more time in Old Town Phuket. Other stops included Cashew Factory, Bee Farm (loved the banana chips there), gem store (could have done without this stop), Wat Chalong and a stop at the base of Big Buddha. There was a landslide around Big Buddha so you can't get to it, but close enough to grab a photo from the side. Jack, our tour guide, was friendly and offered to take photos of us at multiple stops. Nice was to see a few highlights of Phuket at a reasonable price!

Nice day out

There was lots to see with 6 stops along the way and our tour guide Jack was very nice. Could have been a bit more info, didn't get to learn much about any of the sights or the stops along the way. For example we visited a cashew factory but didn't learn a single thing about how cashews are processed.

Beware of extra post-booking charges

As already reported to Viator, we canceled this tour when the operator added a large charge after we had already booked. So did not take tour--the only good thing was that the operator offered a full refund since we could not pay the extra charge.

A quick snap shot of the tourist musts. Communication was good, the trip was well organised and includes a tour guide. There was sufficient time at each stop EXCEPT for Old Phuket town. 30 minutes was not enough time to enjoy the architecture and shop.

Phuket half day great tour

We went on afternoon tour which included the city market. The tour was fantastic. We saw so much and the night market was so much fun. Our tour guide Nick, was fantastic. The nicest tour guide I’ve ever had. He was so accommodating and even went back to a sight to retrieve a lost pair of sunglasses. Could not be happier with the tour and most especially, Nick.

Big Budha

All the stops were great, however the Big Budha stood out the most. I suppose it was just the marvel of it all and the view of the rest if phuket. I would say please skip over the GEM Jewlery shop. I don't believe it was necessary and it felt like a hustle.

Not Really a City Tour as Such

The most memorable part was big Budha and the night market in old Phuket. It would have been a much better tour without stopping at the baby elephant. There are plenty of elephant tours in Thailand which are kinder and protect the elephant. This time could have been much better spent giving us a longer time at the night market 1 hour was not enough.
