Great small-group tour covering a mixture of culture, history, scenery - and a nice lunch with local beer!

Visiting the history of the area. Small groups are always better. The location of the missionary house was stunning. We enjoyed the garden, and the restaurant was just right.

Hi, many thanks for your review. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Haruru and Rainbow Falls were picturesque. Glad we saw them. The description was misleading as it indicated it would be a guided tour at the mission house and it was not. Tour guide was nice and informative as we were going from place to place.

Hi,
Many thanks for your review. My apologies in terms of expecting a guided tour through the Mission Station. I will amend the description to more accurately reflect what actually happens in practice.

The stone house and lunch near the river were amazing. The waterfalls were so beautiful, if I had more time I would have loved to jump in.

Hi Susan,
Many thanks for your review, your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Rainbow Falls were good as well as the Stone Store and Kemp House being the oldest building in NZ. Derek, our guide, was very good. The lunch was under average with one piece of fish and chips and the chocolate factory was quite small. The four hour tour was good but definitely not worth the $185.

Hi,
Many thanks for taking the time to give us a review. I will discuss your comments about lunch with the outlet involved.

This tour was probably the best of our tours in NZ. The area was beautiful and Bill our tour guide very informative which resulted in a very enjoyable experience. Would have been nice to also spend some time in Piahia but we ran out of time, this because of the ship schedule and not the tour provider. We had to be back on board our Princess cruise by 4pm which seemed very early

Hi Iain,
Thank you very much for your review and feedback. I will pass on your feedback to Bill. I hope you enjoy the rest of your cruise.

Great time with Graham. Despite the rain we were on the bus so stayed out of most of it. Loved seeing the glow worms!
Response from Host, Oct 2019
Many thanks for your review. It was a pleasure taking you to see the Glow Worms and the other attractions in Kerikeri.

Our driver Ken was excellent. He was very informative. We had a van for 6 of us. We visited a Glow Worm Caves, Chocolate Factory and stopped at some water fall. Walked through a small rain forest. Ken was a wealth of knowledge. Enjoyed this tour.

We took this tour from our cruise ship Solstice on Jan 18 2019, we were a group of 6 adults, and we were met by our guide Ken, who provided an excellent tour which was very informative, and he was very personable and the tour included the Haruru falls, & Glow worm caves which were our favorites. We also stopped by a chocolate factory, and visited the Kerikeri mission and Puketi Kauri forest area. If was a full tour day and we were back to our ship pier location on time, and happy with our very educated tour. Thanks Ken!

We ther thoroughly enjoyed the excusion with the driver/owner Ken. We compared experiences with another couple on our cruise and concluded the our excursion was better than the Celebrity-sponsored outing they took becuase we saw more places, had a smaller group/more personalized experience and less waiting for stragglers. Ken was knowledgeable, gentile and accommodating.

Had a great day Ken was a great guide :) he even made a special coffee stop for me :) glow worms were amazing lovely scenery in bay of islands

The locations were beautiful but the transport between locations was uncomfortable and too small for 8 people. We were in an 8 seater car with 5 taller, larger framed people. Every time we went over a pot hole, speed hump or dip in the road the back of the car would bump heavily and scrape on the road. Very uncomfortable travelling between the destinations. Please review the transport used on this excursion. The transport used should be suitable for all.
