Our tour guide Lee was very knowledgeable and did a great tour. We enjoyed the changing of the guards, local stories of Terry Fox and indigenous people. We would highly recommend the walk

There is a lot of Canadian history provided along with explanation of a number of monuments. Parliament Hill was a bit of a letdown as much is significantly under construction. We did not make it to ByWard Market

When we booked this walking tour, we were very excited to learn more about Ottawa. We love visiting Canada's capital because there is always something new to discover, and we expected the same enriching experience from this tour.
Unfortunately, we were thoroughly disappointed. While our tour guide was friendly and personable, it became evident that he was not sufficiently knowledgeable about Canadian history and facts. At one point, both another tour participant and I had to correct information he provided. On a few other occasions, he needed to look up facts during the tour to verify their accuracy.
At the beginning of the tour, the guide also stated that the expected gratuity was $30 per person. While the website mentioned that gratuities were welcomed and that guides relied on them as part of their compensation, it did not indicate a suggested amount of $30. Since there were two of us, this would have amounted to $60 for a tour that did not meet our expectations and certainly did not provide value commensurate with that amount.
Overall, we were disappointed with the experience. Based on the positive reviews from others who have taken this same tour, we believe our experience may have been largely due to the particular guide assigned to us. We had expected a much higher standard of knowledge and presentation, especially for a tour focused on the history and significance of Canada's capital.

Our tour guide was not well versed in history of the city or sites they were presenting to us. And on top of that also was not engaging. She mainly made observational comments about what we all saw instead of providing any onsite or expert information. Often was not able to answer questions from the group. At some stops gave incorrect information about several sites in terms of dates, people or facts. This was truly disappointing. Participants started getting and sharing info from the Wikipedia as we were walking and that was more interesting. This was one of the absolutely worst tours we have taken.

Had a lovely tour this morning in Ottawa with Lee. He was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the different historical sites in downtown. A few of his novice colleagues joined as well and it was a larger group of people, about 14 I think. We’ve done the free walking tours before as well in other cities and countries, it’s always a good time walking 3ish hours getting to know the place. Highly recommended!

It was an amazing experience. Lee, my tour guide was so knowledgeable and kept on telling bits and pieces of the history of this beautiful place, Ottawa.
The best part was that he not only focused on the monuments and parks and installations on our tour, but really got us to know the person and the reason behind their existence... I loved my tour and would recommend it to people new to the city or even to those who live here.

Lucky for me I was the only participant during my tour, so I got to ask a lot of questions and learn about Ottawa and Canada! Tro was a great guide - he told me a lot of history about Ottawa and the locations we went through. I liked how he pointed out his personal favourites (murals and sculptures) during the tour. We booked this tour sorting our short visit to Ottawa. We had hard time finding the meeting place and I tried to contact the tour operator for help. 20 min later someone called and told me they will contact the tour guide and will call us back. Nobody called us anymore. We walked to all places listed in the itinerary and we didn’t see anyone. We lost our money but more important our time since this was our first visit to Ottawa and we were only visiting for the weekend.
