The Canadian War Museum offers a moving and immersive journey through history. Exhibits are beautifully curated, blending powerful artifacts, tanks, and firsthand stories from many eras. Interactive displays and thoughtful memorial spaces make the experience both educational and emotional—a must-visit that truly brings the past to life in real time.

The driver and guide were awesome! Lots of info and of course opportunities to stop and take photos!! So happy I booked. Visiting from Whitehorse, Yukon. I lived in Ottawa for 6 years and for some reason have never done this fantastic bus tour. Thanks so much

Dry east to read and learn the history. Great pictures to help you learn. My daughter loved reading the information could have spent the who day there. Great gift shop

The story of HOPE as expressed in the architecture and the life story of the Canadian-Japaneze architect. The tour guide told the story in a manner that was emotive and evoked introspection.

As I arrived too late for the tour--Google Map not being updated on all the construction in and around downtown Ottawa, I missed the tour by a wide margin. This pointed-out one of the flaws in an on-line or app. ticket, namely-- un-foreseen circumstances. Also, although I originally booked my tour on my laptop, after doing so, I needed to have the ticket transferred to my cell ( no access to a printer ), but couldn't manage that. I took a photo of the confirmed booking, yet once I had downloaded the Viator app. to my phone, there was nothing listed on " My Bookings". Possibly someone who is more " tech.-savvy" could have resolved this problem, but that wouldn't have helped with the matter of arriving late. Henceforth, I will only buy one ticket for such a museum tour, as I had to anyway. You never know what problems can arise , on holiday. So, I doubt I will use your service in future,

I loved the thoughtful presentation of Canadian history from multiple perspectives. My video-game obsessed teenager loved seeing real weapons, tanks etc up close and personal. A win-win really! Could spend several hours there, we only allowed 2.5 and there’s a lot we missed.

Our grandson is a war history buff and he couldn’t have a bigger smile on his face which reflected how happy he was to be there. Totally worth the entrance fee.

CDN W M was excellent....... organized, staff courteous and helpful....
Printing off of tickets was a nuisance........no confirmation that the printing was complete.....and since my printer is on another floor it became an issue of whether the ticket printout had happened.

Got tickets for 3pm. The ones for 4pm weren’t available. Viator states this is a 3 hour tour. Got half way round then the place shut and we were abruptly ushered out of the building.

All the little details to uniforms worn by different ranking soldiers and detailed medals, weapons etc. I like seeing the surgical equipment that was available to the medical team during the wars.

Seeing Hitler's car, the battle-damaged equipment, and the warehouse full of tanks were all very memorable

Really well done, lots too see but still digestible. Plenty of nice places to rest after a long day of walking. Wish we’d had more time, didn’t realize it closed at 4 but we got to see the majority of it.

I feel peace ☮️ during my visit — my first time at this museum in Ottawa — that’s why I took the membership…

We had a guided tour. Our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. The trenches and the headstone of the unknown soldier was heart wrenching. So happy we made the trip to Ottawa

Great morning. Kids loved it. Workers were so helpful. Takes about 3 hours to really absorb info available

I went with my 10yo it was great to see him engaged with every article you had exposed in the museum. Learning about the different wars but I think his favourite part were the actual vehicles in LeBreton gallery

Great history of the conflicts that have shaped Canada. Special exhibit brought to light human toll of conflict on Canadian lives. Good to remember those who sacrificed so much for our Canada today.

Really interesting ,was a great experience..fun for the whole family. Very friendly staff, and clean.

Terrible to see how people oppress others or try to, and the human cost of war. There has always been fighting amongst rival communities, countries, religions and everything that separates because of differences. Rather than learning from each other, people resist furiously.
Dupe_O, Jul 2022
Everything there is memorable for me because I appreciate those who laid their lives for the freedom we are enjoying today.

My grandson's face when he show the tanks. He love walking around taking pictures of all the different kinds of tanks and guns
Noah_S, Jul 2022
Seeing all the Story’s about all the wars and seeing the bullet holes and and damage cause by the wars and seeing all the artifacts collected

Each section had clearly written information explaining the improtance and impact on Canadian history
Patrice_F, Apr 2022
It was great to see how much money and efforts humans can invest into armful objects to destroy each other. And that, is since... forever... and much more nowadays and even more in the future. Anyhow, the tanks are masterful.
A.Hitler's car parade is a convertible Mercedes Benz, I feel so petite and small beside it. Ok, I am petite.

My kids really liked to see the tanks and aircraft on the first floor; also the materials regarding the plains of Abraham.
Viktoriya_Z, Sep 2021
We were not given enough time to see everything in the museum. The sight doesn’t let us know that there are at least 2 hours needed for walk around. Please be aware if you are interested in reading and listening to exhibited items Take more than 2 hours. There are two floors and the upset floor is much more informative about Canada history the lowest floor is about recent armoured equipment like tanks ship, vehicles
Linda_G, Sep 2021
We went and read most of the information and watched some video shorts.
This will take 3 hours or so.
Historical war section was very interesting.
Margarita_K, Sep 2021
The displays were well presented and interesting. I also thought that having different sections was easier to walk through and learn more.

WW2 and war of 1812. We like the RCAF part in the women’s role in the war and away from the war.Lineups for a world war two part three but we missed the room with the vehicles and there was no signage that we saw directing us to the front of the building for that tour. Otherwise it was great
Gordon_H, Sep 2021
We took our two grandsons and they were enthralled with the whole experience. One of the best war/military museums i have ever visited. Personally it was my third visit and I still found lots of new things to explore.
