This was a great tour and Andy was a fabulous guide! We knew nothing about Nassau or the Bahamas in general. Andy answered any questions we had and showed us historic places on our tour. Would highly recommend this tour and guide to request.

Our guide Chenille was very knowledgeable about the area, sharing interesting facts. We had plenty of time at a few stops to enjoy the free samples and make purchases. Very enjoyable experience.

Not impressed

Timothy_W, Mar 2026
I showed up on time and waited for an hour. The tour guides only had one person sore up so she canceled my tour. She did put me on another tour for the same places. I could have done a lot with the lost time.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

We are so sorry that you was the only person booked the tour for that day. We really tried to accommodate you but as with any business it’s really hard to operate with just one person. As for the future we will eliminate just one person being able to book the tour because it makes our tour Impossible to operate with only one guest

Amazing!

Disappointing and Underwhelming Tour Experience

Lashandrea_Y, Nov 2025
Our group of 29 adults, 5 children, and 1 infant booked this tour by phone specifically as a private group experience. We paid in advance with the expectation of seeing Nassau’s city highlights and immersing ourselves in Bahamian culture. Unfortunately, the tour fell far short of what was promised. • Private Tour Not Honored: Upon arrival, we were told we would be split into two buses and that additional passengers would be added to one bus. Only after I insisted did the operator agree to keep our group private, though they claimed no knowledge of this arrangement. • Crowded, Rushed Stops:• Rum Cake Factory felt like an assembly line with minimal samples and pressure to purchase. • Atlantis stop was only 30 minutes, with the bus parked away from the site, forcing us to rush for photos. • Queen’s Staircase was the highlight, but even here the experience was limited to a quick walk and a small rum sample. • Shopping Overload: Multiple stops (wine, chocolate, tea, Johnny Watlins) felt more like a prearranged shopping trip than a cultural tour. Samples were tiny, and there was little to no guiding or storytelling. • Lack of Cultural Immersion: Beyond Tasty Tea’s presentation, there was no meaningful explanation of Bahamian history, traditions, or daily life. At $75 per person, this tour was absolutely not worth the price. The value felt closer to $40, and many in our group expressed disappointment. We booked expecting a private, elevated experience that showcased the city and culture, but instead received a rushed, underwhelming itinerary focused on shops and sales. We hope the operator takes this feedback seriously and improves future tours by honoring private bookings, providing knowledgeable guides, and focusing on authentic cultural experiences rather than shopping stops.

Response from Host, Nov 2025

Thank you so much for taking our tour and leaving your feedback. Let me first apologize that we did not live up to your expectations as to what you were expecting. I think before anyone goes ahead and book this tour the need to READ. Our tours deliver whatever we promised and what is listed and you complain about what was expected that does not align with what is promised. If your tour is booked for 3 hours and you have six different stops how much time do you think you have at each stop. All these stops that are listed tea factory, rum cake, wine do you really think these persons are going to give you FREE samples and try not get you to buy. That’s not Buissnes in my book and we hide nothing. Even the time that you are at each stop. Please the tour is three hours. Viator this platform allowed you to book a group experience. There is no bus that hold 35 persons. We honored everything that was promised. We have no control over the Atlantis and thier pick up and drop off and we gave your group extra time. Your tour group started at 9:30 and ended at 1:45. Please this is for you and anyone who will book in the future. Our tours deliver whatever is (3) hours and we have about (6) different stops and yes the people will try to get you to purchase

Nice tour of several island spots. Doesn't venture too far from downtown though. Does stop at a number of sales stops, but no time to really buy. A quick around town tour.

All the hotspots in one

Tiara_C, Oct 2025
We had a great time. Shonel was our guide and she was very accommodating and super knowledgeable. We got to hit up pretty much all the hotspots for the brief time our boat was docked in Nassau. Shonel offered water and a shot of rum, and was willing to take photos for us. Highly recommend and would do it again.

Underwhelming.

Shawn_W, Oct 2025
The guide couldn't remember the historical speech he began to give and just gave up. We didn't have enough time at any stop. The guide was not very enthusiastic.

Misleading "Shopping Tour" - Buyer Beware

Nubia_M, Sep 2025
I'll start this review by saying it wasn't terrible, but I believe the tour title is quite misleading. This was, primarily, a glorified shopping tour. Almost all stops were places that sold products that could easily be purchased at the port without the constant pressure of a sales pitch. Overall, I'd rate this as average for the price; $75 per person seems steep for the value provided. Issues with Logistics and Guide :: Arrival: When we arrived at the meeting place, there was no formal introduction. Someone simply approached us, stated they were our guide, and told us to follow them. We had to stop him and request that he verify the Viator details to ensure we were getting into a car with the correct person. Sightseeing Stops :: Water Tower & Fort Fincastle: Both attractions were unavailable. The Water Tower was covered for renovations, and Fort Fincastle was closed. While these issues are understandable, they contributed significantly to the disappointment. Queen's Staircase (Highlight): This was the highlight of the "tour." The local guide we encountered here (who was not part of the group this was purchased from) was excellent and very knowledgeable. He took great photos and knew all the best angles. We truly enjoyed our time with him and wish we had remembered his name. Commercial Stops and Sales Pitches The Rum Cake Factory: This was nothing like a factory. We entered a retail shop with several workers immediately pitching various cake bundles. The samples were good, and we did purchase some cake, but the experience was lacking—no history of the rum cake or explanation of its local prevalence was provided. Tasty Teas: This felt very much like a "snake oil" sales pitch. We were aggressively told about the healing properties of the teas, including claims that they cure cancer and other ailments. The entire stop felt pushy. Atlantis Casino: We were allowed to walk around the Casino and the shops, which was interesting to see, but be warned: this is as far as you can go. You only see the retail areas. Bahama Barrels (Wine Tasting): This was simply a wine shop. There was no tour or history, just a quick tasting, which was disappointing. John Watling's Distillery (Recommended): This stop was enjoyable. The small tour still provided valuable history, and the staff we spoke to were nice and answered questions. Crucially, we did not feel pressured to purchase anything here. Omissions :: Conch Fritters: We did not receive the promised conch fritters. While we didn't "cry about it," it's worth noting the omission as advertised. Final Conclusion :: The premise of visiting "local vendors" gives the impression that the shops are authentic local spots, not tourist traps designed for hard sales. If the tour claims to offer "local cuisine," it should take the group to an actual local spot rather than a shop focused on pushing a sales pitch. The sightseeing was hampered by closures, and the bulk of the time was spent in commercial establishments.

Response from Host, Oct 2025

Thank you so much for taking the time out to give your feedback on our tour. Let me first apologize that we did not meet your expectations on what you had anticipated our tour to be and also apologize for not providing the conch fritters promised. With that being said everything else in the tour pretty much went as planned and promised. The water tower has not been in operation for the last 20 years or more. It’s just there for viewing from the outside and we would usually tell you the reason for it being there. As far as sales pitch and shopping. While you may not be interested in taking local items back with you, Many people appreciate the fact that while on tour they are able to purchased locally made items to take back with them and also learn about our culture at the same time. So while your interest is not to shop, I would just simply learn about the local history and appreciate the locally made items. We all have a choice whether we want to buy or not. My suggestion is that next time you book a private tour where you can have a driver cater to your specific needs and you can inform your driver that you don’t want to do any shopping and they can take you to a rum cake factory that actually looks like a factory. With a group setting we accept the fact that we are not able to please everyone, but we will not allow it to take away a beautiful experience from others

Thanks Mr. Peter! Great little tour.

Brittany_R, Aug 2025

Not a food tour

Melissa_T, Jul 2025
We have been on “food tours” during other vacations and the tours included stops at local restaurants to sample various local cuisine and learn about the history and culture of the area. Instead, we stopped at a rum cake factory, a winery, a tea shop and was offered a brewery for “samples” designed to encourage us to purchase full size products. After several stops, we asked our tour guide about local eateries and he had not been briefed that this was to be a culinary tour. We were not expecting a meal by any means, but for $75/pp we thought we would experience more than a morsel to entice us to buy. Our local guide was very nice and actually stopped and purchased an order of conch fritters for us to eat (which was part of the tour title.). This was a decent tour, just not at all what we expected, a majority of the stops were sales pitches and there was no communication with our guide. We also did not receive an email about our meeting spot until 6:30 am the day of the tour. We unplug (and do not pay for wifi on a cruise) so we did not receive this communication.

Response from Host, Jul 2025

This is not a Culinary tour and culinary is no where in the description of this tour. You went to every place listed on the tour and if you were not interested in going to the rum cake factory, tea factory or winery and receive the samples that were offered because once again these are the stops listed on the tour then you should not have booked it. No where in the advertisement of this tour is misleading. Every place listed as promised was fulfilled. Thank you for booking and as for you not having WiFi and your phone being unplugged is beyond my control. Also the meeting spot is listed in the description as well. The message is just in case you didn’t read everything including the meeting spot

Very good tour and guide

Danielle_P, Jun 2025
The tour was very good and the guide was wonderful. She offered to take pictures for us at many locations which we really appreciated. We liked that there were multiple stops that were not more than 30 minutes or so at each. I would have liked a van that was a little taller or had taller windows so I could have seen outside better, but that is just a personal preference.

Response from Host, Jul 2025

The city tour had...

Latoya_B, Jun 2025
The city tour had potential, but overall it fell short of expectations. Pick-up was a bit chaotic—we had to call to figure out where our guide was, which delayed the start. While she was friendly and shared some facts while driving, there wasn’t much guidance once we arrived at each stop. We were mostly left to explore on our own with little context or direction. The “wine, conch, and liquor tasting” wasn’t an organized experience—it was more like the guide personally buying items to share with the group. It felt a bit improvised. She’s nice, but based on the overall lack of structure and value, I wouldn’t recommend this tour.
