What To Expect

This lunch or dinner experience at Nairobi’s the Carnivore Restaurant begins with hotel pickup from your accommodation in the city.

Once you arrive at the restaurant, walk inside its garden-like setting to its medieval-like banquet hall and sit at your zebra-inspired chair. All the meat is roasted on traditional Maasai swords over a huge charcoal pit, so it’s quite a sight to see.

Sit at your table, and enjoy your experience, which includes a full meal of popular picks, as well as exotic options such as ostrich, zebra, and crocodile. Plus, the experience starts as soon as you sit with starters such as soup and bread and butter.

Afterward, carvers come and carve an unlimited supply of meat for your plate, accompanied by veggies and side dishes, too. Dessert is served last, and when you’re all done, enjoy a stress-free ride back to your Nairobi hotel.

Driver was great. She picked us up and dropped us off. We enjoyed the dinner experience and only paid for our drinks. It is a must try restaurant when in Nairobi.

If you are ever in Nairobi we highly highly recommended! Try their signature drink called the Dawa. All the staff were so friendly and we even met the owner! What a wonderful experience

We traveled to Kenya from the US. I really wanted my husband to experience the Carnivore restaurant that I had visited on a previous trip. We looked forward to it all day and arrived at the hotel lobby early and happy. No one showed up to get us. This is the second no show with Viator. We should have learned our lesson. I would strongly advise anyone they should NOT book with Viator.

Our driver picked us up from the hotel right on time, and he was very nice and we had a good conversation while sitting in traffic on the way to the restaurant. We were seated right away and ordered our drinks - they took a little while to come, but we weren't in any hurry so it was no big deal. The soup was brought out, and it was delicious. Then the meat started - everything was great except the crocodile very small pieces with a lot of fat/gristle, although we were a bit disappointed that they did not have camel that night. Once we surrendered they brought out desert - somehow we found room for it, and it was also delicious. Overall I'm not sure it was worth the price, but it was a good meal and I would recommend trying it out if you are into trying out different types of meat.
