What an amazing experience!! Another must do without having to travel very far away. Our Tour guide was Mwose and our driver was Chris-they were a great duo team! Mwose is full of knowledge and he makes the information exciting to listen to. One would never know the amazing history of Kenya from an inside source without a great guide like Mwose. The boat ride to the island and back was awesome and our guide and boat driver were very considerate to keep the boat moving slowly to above us getting wet; it was a bit windy in the way to the island. Right at the start we saw zebras so close and wow!! I was amazed because it was my first time seeing a live zebra in its habitat. Then there were the Giraffes, gazelles, hippos, ostrich, and wilderbeasts. There is also a restaurant on the island you can eat before you head back to the boat.

The tour was fantastic and exactly what we hoped for—a seamless transfer to Lake Naivasha followed by a visit to Crescent Island. Our guide, Tim, was very knowledgeable, and the private transfer vehicle made the experience even better since it was just the two of us. Overall, it was a wonderful day trip from Nairobi.

This was the most incredible experience. Tim the guide was wonderful. He explained a lot about life in Kenya as we drove and the visit to the island was one of those one in a lifetime pinch me moments. Tim was also kind enough to stop at a supermarket so I could buy a phone charger as mine had stopped working. Today was a dream come true and a must for any visitors to the area!

This is one we're still talking about! We spent the day with Mwose, who was a personable and knowledgeable guide. FYI, pick-up in Westlands at 7am, and drop-off at about 5:30pm. The visit to the island itself was incredible. Egrets, ibises, and numerous other birds. We walked up to Massai giraffes, and came quite close to zebras, wildebeest, gazelles, impalas. There were hippos in the water just off island. And so much more. On the way back to shore, the motorboat stopped so that we could watch fisherman cast by hand from old tree stumps in the middle of the lake. And lunch, around 2pm, was quite good--at Camp Carnelly's. In all, the island was a truly unforgettable experience, which we have recommended to others. Only 2 downsides: the drive to and from Naivasha, by whichever route, is filled with exhaust-belching trucks, which got to be quite unpleasant; and the bait that the skipper used to get the fish eagles to dive near us in the water had Styrofoam in it, which meant it has been dispersed into the environment. Otherwise, only positive things to say.
