Trip of a lifetime & what a fantastic experience! Going to the Maasai Mara National Park was amazing; seeing so many animals in their natural habitat with all the freedom they enjoy was wonderful. Our guide Ritchie was truly outstanding & we feel we saw so many animals we would have missed if it wasn’t for him, including the elusive leopard, baby hippo with its parents & two majestic male lions walking towards us plus so much more. I loved the grace & elegance of the giraffes & the adorable elephants crossing the savannah. Thank you Ritchie & thank you Jockey Safaris.

It was not a great start....

It was not a great start. I had to call the operator multiple times in order to be picked up - had I not reached out, I don't think I would've been picked up - that took 30-45 minutes from scheduled pick-up time - I even received a notification a day in advance of their pick-up time. Upon reaching the departure point, I was brought to their office - and then brought back down to the departure point as they just realised I booked through Viator. We waited for about 30 minutes before departure as they were waiting for the car to be full. I was second to the last and when I spoke to the others, they were waiting longer than me. It was a long drive to Masai Mara and we reach about 3PM - we had late lunch (food was okay) and then went for a game drive - we did not see much. For the second day, I was moved to a different group which was a shame because I enjoyed the company of the first group. It was an early start of the day, we saw a couple of lions but I felt underwhelmed as I did Serengeti before - I should've manage my expectations. For the third day, we visited a Masai Village and then drove back to Nairobi. We were transferred to a van, which wasn't really as comfortable as the other car and we had to wait for other tourists to arrive before we continued driving back to Nairobi.

We had a fabulous time on this safari and certainly got our money's worth. Our guide Khalifa was hilarious and SO knowledgeable about Kenya, the animals, the fauna, and the various cultures that we encountered. Khalifa also made sure that we saw every animal that we wanted. Do yourself a favor: INSIST on Khalifa when taking this tour, then sit back and enjoy!
