I brought my mom with me. I didn’t realize it was a raft boat. So people will get all wet along the way to the spot. The guide should have instructed us what we should be totally aware as observers before he is allowed to set the boat. We brought some sea sick medicine, but it was locked at the case. We brought raincoat, but he did not remind us to wear it. The raft is very bumpy. It was not possible to wear it at the boat. He probably didn’t know there was an accident 18 people died in a heavy rain within 15 minutes. The ocean is very windy. It can blow away the heat very quickly. People can swim wearing the life vets, while people don’t know how to swim don’t have life jackets. That is not expected when we traveled in Thailand or Bali.

      Maybe lucky next time

We went on the end of the season for whale watching We have been out looking to find some whales most of the trip. We only saw some whales in the far distance. Our captain and tour guide was very good and shared a lot off information with us. We were hoping to see more whales and maybe a bit closer would be great

      Response from Host, Oct 2026

Dear Janet, Thank you for your feedback. Indeed, your tour was at the end of the season and there is less chances to be able to see the whales. Nevertheless, I would like to take the time to remind that our tour operates in open ocean and humpbacks whales are wild animals. Even during the season and in the peak of the season, we can never guarantee to observe them, neither from the boat, neither in the water. Our tour is an adventure during which we let the ocean gives us what he wants to give us.

      The whale watching was...

The whale watching was fine but the description on Viator was not complete. We didn’t know we were going to be the only 2 people on the boat that were “observers” instead of snorkelers. We were also told to get there 15 minutes after everyone else so we missed a lot of the intro being given. After the fact, I went onto the actual tour operators website and found the full description. I’m not sure we would’ve taken this tour if we had known how it was set up. Each boat takes eight passengers and only six can go in the water. It just changed the whole vibe of the trip for us. I’m also not sure that we would’ve sat so long in certain places if the snorkels weren’t going in the water.

**A great experience with the whales**

We had a wonderful experience and were actually lucky enough to see two whales! The staff was very friendly and helpful, which made the excursion even more pleasant. The only problem was the booking process. When booking, there were apparently two options: either to stay on the boat and watch the whales or to swim with the whales. Unfortunately, for some reason, I could not choose between these two options when booking. That was a bit confusing. It would be helpful if the different options were clearly explained during booking and one could select the desired option directly. Overall it was a great experience, and seeing the two whales was definitely a highlight of our trip. I can recommend the excursion, but hope that the booking process is improved in the future so that the available options are clearly visible to all travelers.
