The tour did not meet my expectations. For the price, I expected an authentic cultural experience. What we received was a poster board with pictures and words on the wall like we were in elementary school. The dancer was the tour guide who changed into a costume and requested participation instead of a show. This felt put together and not an experience they should be selling. The good part of the tour was cooking with the chef but when they charged for water that threw me off too. Not to mention it was disorganized as they added us to another tour and we had to wait in the heat for them to finish. We were suppsed to be done at 1:30 and got back at 5:30. I DO NOT RECOMMEND, and wish the reviews would have more accurately reflected the experience as this was not a cultural experience.

Most informative and authentic trip ever! I learned so much about their culture and history of the Jamaican community and lifestyle. My mom and I were very entertained and relaxed.

Jamaica had been hit by hurricane Beryl and the tour was impeded by the destruction; however, Eve still made sure we had a great time. We went from the mountains to the market, then off to waters over the course of two days. She was very knowledgeable and familiar with the locals. As our personal Guinep (MUST TRY) guide, she made sure we had a healthy bag full when we returned back to the resort. Although nature happened, it was a gift to have deviated from the schedule as I know we would not have been able to experience nearly half of what we did had the schedule not been interrupted. Will be in contact when we return :-D

This was one of the best tours that I have ever been on! Mama T and Eve were awesome! We really got to see the real Jamaica. The culture, the food and the views. We would definitely do this tour again.

Ms. Eve!!!! Enough can’t be said about her and her love and knowledge for Jamaica. Myself and my son learned so much and the lunch in the country side was amazing to taste an authentic Jamaican dish! We had an amazing time and would highly recommended

As someone who travels a lot, I’ve done a lot of excursions and had a lot of experiences. This was BY FAR one of the BEST excursions I’ve ever been on. From the moment we were picked up from our hotel, Eve (the host) was absolutely amazing. Not only was she very welcoming and friendly, she was also very knowledgeable about her country and she was excited to share that with us. Jas and Jamon were fantastic too! All 3 of them went out of their way and exceeded all expectations. We try to get the most authentic cultural experience in every country we visit, and we definitely feel like true honorary Jamaicans now. From visiting a local market where we got to try exotic fruits, to learning Patois and dancing the day away while singing along to Harry Belafonte, there was never a dull moment. Anyone traveling to Montego Bay and looking to get a REAL cultural experience, you’ve found the right tour. My family would do it again in a heartbeat.

This experience was AMAZAING! The Ride to/from was very informative, the food we made with the Chef was delicious. Actually his was 1 of the best festivals I had while there. His family secret ingredients made a big difference. The drums, culture, dance…everything was more than I expected. Since you will be going into a more rural area, were pants and bring bug spray

5/26/23: This tour was amazing! Authentic, very culturally informative, and the food we made was *chef’s kiss* SOOOOO GOOD!! We saw wild life, met and loved on a 98 year old woman , whose was moving better then me!!! It’s really a truly great authentic Jamaican tour!! every person we met was genuinely happy to educate us and help us.

We started at a market and was then transported to a location where a delicious lunch was prepared and a lot of history was presented. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and amicable. We got a snippet of daily rural life in Jamaica which I appreciated. Got to try a couple of new fruits.
However, the market experience was a bit chaotic- and not because of the market itself.
The tour overall was a bit elementary and didn’t seem to match the value of the tour. Great selection for beginner travelers.

I had an amazing experience and I highlyyy recommend the Wah Gwaan Culture Tour. You definitely get to see parts of Jamaica that you wouldn't get to see on a normal tour. The tour guide and Chef were amazing, and the food was sooo good.

Eve was our guide and she was very knowledgeable. She went out of her way to pick fresh mango,jack fruit for us to try and even stopped for fresh Jamaican patties at our request. It was one of my favorite things about my trip to Jamaica. Highly recommend.

My husband and I had a fun day with the Wah Gwaan team. We stopped at the local flea market and got to taste local fruit and enjoy the atmosphere of the weekly event. We then went to Miss Lilly's and cooked and danced the afternoon away. Good tour for the family.

This tour was wonderful! Our tour guide was very flexible about stopping at places that weren't necessarily on the tour like a library we passed on the road. We also had a stop at a little house where we got the best patties that we had of the entire trip! Chef Jammin' was awesome and the food was authentic, some of the best food we had while we were on our trip and we made it! It was not a cooking demonstration we were actually Hands-On, which the young ones really enjoyed. There is a lot of history in Jamaica that they talked to us about after the cooking class which was also wonderful to learn. We had a large family group and we fit comfortably into their tour van. The only feedback I have to give them is that there needs to be a way to cut down the time. The tour could have been 2 hours shorter and I would still have paid the same amount with no issue. We were out from 845 to at least 545 . We were so far out and there were no sightseeing spots on the ride back. Maybe a little less scenic route to the cooking class to leave some history to discuss on the way back to the resort? I consider this money well spent either way.

Faye was our tour guide. This tour was the best part of our vacation to Jamaica. I recommend everyone going on this tour. It was absolutely amazing to get a deep dive into seeing different homes of Jamaica. Going to the farmers market and eating fresh Jamaican fruit was great. Getting a close look at one of the oldest churches in the area. Then cooking a traditional Jamaican dinner, was awesome very delicious. Being able to see the outside of the school that Usain Bolt went to and learning the history of Jamaica was also great. Learning traditional Jamaican dances was also very fun. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TOUR!!!

This tour experience deserves 10 STARS!!! Every single moment was exceptional. I learned so much about Jamaica's History, Culture,Dance and FOOD! I'm still drooling over Chef Faye's Mackerel Run Down. Even the gift shop is wonderful. Great prices and selections including handmade crafts from local residents. I'm definitely going again when I return to the beautiful island of Jamaica. Their "Rastafari Tour" may be ready when I return. Absolutely perfect. We loved this tour! Some of my favorite parts were making and eating the festival dumpling, having the Jamaican national anthem sung to us, and seeing true interactions between Jamaicans as we stopped to say hi to people on the way up into the hills. My daughter said one of her favorite parts of the day was riding in the van with Fayon, our guide. She is so friendly and knowledgeable, and the countryside is beautiful.
Don’t get me wrong, we’re also looking forward to snorkeling today. But I can snorkel in the US. What I can’t do in the US is spend a day in the life of a typical Jamaican, which is what we did today. I HIGHLY recommend this trip!
