It was a wonderful day. First of all, our guide Peter communicated with me the evening before and the morning of, so there were no questions about connecting with him for the day. He picked us up in a nice, clean, comfortable luxury van at the appointed time. He managed the day perfectly, avoiding the crush of crowds at the major sites. The Ocean Road is an amazing drive filled with awe inspiring views and overlooks. He also took us to a beautiful rain forest gully. He found a wonderful lunch spot for us, and he helped us find koalas in the wild and kangaroos! His knowledge of Australia, the road and the region added greatly to our day. It was a full day of amazing experiences. We highly recommend!

If I could have rated this experience 10 Stars I would have! Peter was our tour guide and driver for the day. He was incredibly knowledgeable. Any question we asked he knew the answer to and gave us a full background of the history of Melbourne and The local fauna Flora and attractions. He is extremely personable and easy to talk to. He's a careful, safe driver and made excellent restaurant recommendations for when we were in Apollo Bay. This was an incredible experience as it was just the four of us. Much more personalized than a giant tour bus full of people. Highly recommended!

This tour was super awesome to do privately as we were on a cruise ship. Our driver was very flexible and made it a great day. The sights were incredible but maybe bring some bug spray as the flies are intense.

Our driver was kind and knowledgeable. This is such an incredible location, I feel like I have the best photos because our driver knew the best locations! He spotted wild koalas in the trees and pulled over for us to see them and get great pics.

Peter is an excellent tour guide for the Great Ocean Road. He ensured a punctual pick-up right at the hotel entrance and demonstrated a strong knowledge of Melbourne’s history throughout the journey. His explanations were engaging, especially his interesting descriptions of local animals such as Friesian cows, Jersey cows, camels, and rabbits. The tour included memorable koala and kangaroo sightings, and Peter’s deep knowledge of the Great Ocean Road added great value to the experience. He was consistently polite, friendly, and accommodating, making the tour both informative and enjoyable.

Amazing tour. You cannot miss this one if you are visiting Melbourne. The scenery is incredible, with the ocean road and rock formations being particularly impressive. Seeing koalas and kangaroos in the wild was the most unique experience. All accompanied by the knowledgeable descriptions of Peter, who was the perfect guide.

While our tour guide Melvin is super professional and nice, unfortunately Viator business ethics is very much otherwise. Your online booking agent Emmanuel Elliois failed to inform us that you charge US$ in a website for an Australian Private Tour on your webpage. There is no mention at any point that the charges is in US$ on your webpage, neither did Emmanuel mention about it in the chat. Although your agent later did apologize about the failure on their part to inform the customer, you did nothing about trying to correct the wrongs. I have the complete recording of your agent admitting to the failure on their part which I have to now pay. I have checked with other companies offering similar tour for $995 and $999. Naturally when I see your website offering a discount for 88 Luxury Tour at $772, I thought it was great deal. Emmanuel also will keep pressurizing you to 'lock in' the deal and quickly do the payment. US$772 is about AU$1285 which is almost AU$300 more expensive than the other tour agency. As mentioned our tour guide Melvin has been nothing but an AMAZING driver and person, we would give Melvin 5 stars but this booking platform has kind of make our first experience with Viator an unpleasant one and we will be cautious in recommending anybody to using Viator in future.

You cannot do the Great Ocean Road if you are on a cruise ship unless it leaves at night. Before booking, I confirmed that we were on a cruise and that we had to be back on by 4. I was assured that this tour is done by cruise passengers frequently. All we saw was a couple overlooks and a stop at one beach but we did very little of the Great Ocean road. What we saw was not close to the description of the tour. It was not worth the long trip down and back. Our driver was good although he could have given the group more comments instead of having a private concentration with one passenger.

We had an amazing time doing The Great Ocean Road full-day, private tour. We were able to see a good number of the must-see sites (Twelve Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge, Razorback, Gibson Steps, Apollo Bay). We were able to customize the trip according to our schedule. The coordination with the tour operator was smooth. The van was roomy and clean. Our guide, Ross, was very knowledgeable. We highly recommend this tour!

Melvin and Ross were incredibly accommodating with our schedule. We needed to board our cruise ship at 3pm, so we started our day with a pick up at our hotel at 5am! Went to the 12 Apostles, drive the Great Ocean Road, and stopped in small towns. Lots of pictures, time to stretch out legs and arrived in plenty of time at the ship! Thanks for a great day!

Such an amazing day! Chris our guide was local and grew up in the area. He shared his knowledge, insights and enthusiasm.. We were able to fine-tune the itinerary to our needs and see the sites that were the most important to us. The day was just wonderful! The lunch of fish and chips was great and all the sites were really worth seeing!

Unfortunately the weather was atrocious and accessibility to many of the scheduled viewing stops was not possible. Visibility was poor due to heavy rain and mist. Our driver Ange tried to make the trip as enjoyable as possible but under the circumstances and the weather forecast we think the trip should have been cancelled by the company. On contacting them (88 Luxury Tours) at the end of the day I made this comment. The reply was that we could have cancelled ourselves that morning but the Viator site had specified that 24 hours notice was required. The trip cost $1150 for the three of us and was definitely not worth it under the conditions. The weather is out of anyone's control but I think that we should have been notified that we could have cancelled without penalty as the weather forecast that morning was unequivocal and forecast heavy rain and storms. We just managed to view the 12 Apostles but little else. It was a long expensive day and the driver was concerned at times that roads may have been cut off by flash flooding and the fog made driving difficult. I would have thought that the company would have had the decency at least to offer a reduced fee as we were not able to see many of the scheduled attractions.

Hi Susan, As discussed after the tour, we do not cancel the tour unless there is a warning from the Met department to avoid all travel. While a thunderstorm was forecasted, no one anticipated that it would last that long. We do not cancel because for most people, this is their last day and only chance and in most cases, the weather clears up. This was unfortunately a Black Swan event however we promise to provide what we promise, luxury travel, knowledgeable Guides and safe travel.
You however asked for a refund after the tour which would not be possible and we offered to take you back on another date at a heavily reduced rate otherwise you would have received everything for free, no company or business offers that. My recommendation is that you ask any questions before travel as we are always at hand to answer any questions rather than request a refund after you have participated. Melbourne is known for unpredictable weather and if we offered refunds for bad weather after all tours we would not exist. As you know our guide was very good, as mentioned, you are welcome to contact us and book with a high discount as you will want to do this again.

The entire trip was well worth it. Communication with Viator & our tour guide was excellent. We were late getting off the cruise ship and I was in contact with Ange, our guide to let him know. Ange is an excellent guide, told us many facts as we drove out to the 12 Apostles, kept us on track so we wouldn’t miss seeing a thing. He suggested different options as we went along. He picked up that we liked to hike, so he stopped at Maits Rest Rainforest and we had a great hike. Definitely would do this again.
