The listing and photos implied a couples’ sidecar experience—one of us on the motorcycle and the other in the sidecar. Upon arrival, we learned my husband would actually sit behind the guide while I rode in the sidecar. This seating arrangement was not clear in the listing, and had it been, we would not have booked.
We chose not to participate, were denied a refund, and unfortunately found the operator’s response to our concern very dismissive.

Dear Danelle, following our exchanges when you arrived, you told me in a rather severe tone that you absolutely wanted to drive, that your husband was a professional pilot and that, if he could not drive, you wanted to cancel immediately. I did do so by telling you that the activity was cancelled but that there would be no refund, because our pilot had moved to welcome you. On the other hand, it is clearly stated, both in the photos and in the description, that it is a tourist activity for walking and excursion with a guide (if you had read the reviews, you would have noticed it), and not a sidecar rental. You say you're a travel agency; if you did, you would have contacted me directly so you wouldn't book on TripAdvisor, because if you were a travel agency, you would know that fares are much more expensive. I'm sorry you didn't understand the description which is, I think, relatively clear, and you're the only one in 10 years who believes that you're booking a sidecar rental and you're going to drive.
This is a great way to see Marseille and have fun while doing so! It was a one of kind experience and good for all ages! Antoine was so kind and made me feel comfortable zipping around Marseilles…we had a blast
Kevin was our guide and he was fantastic. Very funny and knowledgeable and we felt safe the entire time. It was a great tour in such a unique way!
This was a great way to see all of Marseille in a couple of hours and hear the details from a local. We had Antoine and he was a great driver and made it super fun. Truly an unforgettable experience.
We had come in on a cruise ship and walked only a block to the pick up point from where our cruise ship bus dropped off in town.
Thibault was a fantastic tour guide. We really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and historic tidbits along the way. We had limited time in port on a Celebrity cruise and this was a great way to see a lot of the coast line within a couple of hours. He was even able to bring us directly back to the ship so we didn’t have to take the shuttle back to the ship. He was such a welcoming, warm and all around nice guy and made my wife and I feel safe on the motorcycle. We even had time to stop for some ice cream on the way back and he took nice pictures of us at each stop. Highly recommend!
Great way to see the highlights. Our guides were really fun…we would definitely do it again! It was a very hot day so it was great to be moving.
enjoyed being in sidecar, but my friend had to be on the back of motorcycle. she was uncomfortable and felt unsafe. when they advertise “side car” - both should be able to ride in a SIDECAR.

Hello. Thank you for coming back. It is absolutely not stated that the two people were driving in the basket on the side, but that the price was for two people, one person in the rear of the driver and another on the side.

We had a great time with Eric and Kevin! Coming in for a cruise stop they provided great communication of meeting point. Riding on the bikes and in the side car was great fun and an amazing way to see the city. Highly recommend this experience!!
The meeting point was a little confusing for me but we found it. The tour guide who drove us was very kind and knowledgeable, he had poncho, blanket, very prepared. He also was a gentleman with helping us get in and out of the sidecar. He gave us a great little off road tour and took us where we wanted to go/see. He also took our photos and WHATSAPP messaged us! Worth the two hours and I would definitely recommend!
So fun! Definitely worth it! We covered a lot of area in a short time. Saw a Birds Eye view of the city, went to the southern most point of Marsille, had a little wine and where the Olympics were held along with history of the area. The only sad part is that there was no time to spend in town before we had to go back to the cruise ship. Kevin was an awesome tour guide. Would definitely do this again if we ever pass this way again.
This was a great way to see the city of Marseille and some of the beautiful sites. The sidecar was perfect for my Mom even with her limited mobility. Eric was an excellent guide and driver and we were well taken care of. We were dropped back at our ship after the tour too. Highly recommended!

Our sidecar tour of Marseille was completely amazing. I am so glad that we took advantage of this activity on our first day in the city. We went from the Old Port to a city overlook at the Notre-Dame de la Garde to the Parc national des Calanques. Eric and Kevin were incredibly friendly, shared photos and a great amount of insight through wonderful stories. I am in awe of the ground we covered in such a short time!
Our sidecar tour with Eric from La Belle Echappee far exceeded our expectations. Eric was a great guide who not only took us to wonderful places in Marseille but gave us time to explore certain areas as well. It was a wonderful day, one of the highlights of our vacation.
Eric was an incredible host. Full of knowledge and took us to some great views of the city, a lot of places were away from the hussle of the city. I highly recommend this private unique experience

It was an interesting and unique day in Marseilles. We appreciated the driver's unique insight. Anyone can see the sights in a bus or taxi but the experience hits differently on a motorcycle.
My husband and I took our 20+ year old granddaughters. We rode In sidecars and they rode behind drivers. It was so much fun and ttruely an adventure. We were able to see across the entire city and it was very beautiful and interesting.
Riding around Marseille with our drivers Eric & Roger was an absolutely amazing experience. As a party of four we collectively agreed that the sidecar adventure was a once in a lifetime adventure and we had a blast ! Thrilled we chose this excursion and would do it again

Wonderful experience. We saw sooo much of Marseille that we could not have seen any other way. The “open-air” experience was most refreshing and our guide, Eric, was most accommodating, even waiting for our delayed arrival while others in the group went ahead with the tour. We senior citizens got many stares and thumbs up as my husband rode in the side car and I in the seat behind the driver. What fun!
This was an amazing experience that exceeded our expectations. Kevin provided a very professional, safe and personal tour in a very comfortable motorcycle with sidecar.
We would have never seen this part of the world in the same way without this tour.

If you are looking for the perfect tour and guide Eric is the one to choose. During our 14 day Mediterranean cruise this was by far our very favorite! He was so fun, knowledgeable, and knew the perfect places to see. Eric’s sidecar adventure was absolutely amazing !
Fantastic and wonderful experience with our guide , Kevin. A beautiful clear blue sky day but bitterly cold made no difference to our experience. All cruise ships ( yes you too MSC) should offer this as a shore excursion.
It was great to see a wide variety of diverse areas in one tour. Particularly enjoyed the time allowed to go inside the Basilica.
We had great experience, a unique way to see Marseilles on a vintage sidecar, got some great photos. Maybe a few more stops would have been good, we rode straight past some points of interest. Otherwise, well worth doing!

The bike ride was a nice experience! However, I paid the full price for 4 people and booked that 4 bikes would be available, not 2, so that 2 people sat behind the driver and not in the sidecar. This made the price paid disproportionate!!!
Very unfortunate and should be noted for other bookings!!!
