A Taste of the Medina

Our Taste of the Medina tour was amazing! We tasted a wide variety of traditional Moroccan foods and our guide, Omar provided information and commentary on each item. Omar was very knowledgeable and engaging, and his English was easy to understand. All the foods we sampled were found in the Marrakesh Medina. We started with red, green and black olives with a variety of traditional marinades. We sampled Moroccan sweets and nuts with a variety of coatings, and dates. Omar introduced us to Moroccan staples, such as lentils and flatbreads with fillings. After a visit to the herbalist to learn about Moroccan oils, we finished the evening with a complete traditional Moroccan meal. We definitely got our money’s worth and were very full and satisfied at the end of the evening.
