    Couldn't have been better

    Susan_N, Jul 2026
Dean kept us enthralled for two hours ( longer than advertised ) with stories of everyone from notorious criminals to social reformers in this desperately poor district of 19th century Manchester, as we discovered what remains of the past there amid the smart new buildings of the present-day city. One of our number had a personal connection to Angel Meadow, and he drew their tale into the mix, as well as telling us about others he'd met over the years - and his own local family story as well. It wasn't an arduous walk; though there were a few flights of steps and slopes, and Dean was solicitous that the older ones among us were managing all right. Altogether an excellent experience, and I'm now looking forward to reading his book.

    Informative and fun

    Merv_M, Jul 2025
Dean is very knowledgeable and knows the subject matter well. He is also a nice guy and made the tour feel very relaxed with lots of opportunities for questions. Sadly not much of the area remains today due to redevelopment. However Dean painted a vivid image of what it used to be like during the Industrial Revolution.
