A great tour with a passionate and knowledgeable guide. You learn about the history of Valetta and Malta, as well as seeing some amazing places. Valetta is beautiful and our guide, Karl ,was captivating.

Unreserved 5 stars! Our guide Karl is just aces!! Rarely do you get such an enthusiastic guide who is so passionate about his tour and resonates with so many different guests! So much so that he gave up another career to pursue this interest. His sense of humor really added to the experience and he could masterfully field questions, comments, and jokes on the fly. I really got the best sense of the Malta's history through this tour, despite it being hotter than two hells.
If you really want to understand the history of Malta, don't miss this tour with Karl! Would definitely recommend and even do the tour again, plus the value is excellent!

We met Karl at Triton’s fountain - the instructions were very easy to follow and he was instantly recognizable. We always book a walking tour when we arrive in a new city as they help us to get the lie of the land and sign post areas for further exploration. This was without a doubt the best we’ve ever done! Karl was so knowledgable and informative and had the most endearing manner and sense of humour! We learnt so much! We highly recommend this tour and if you’re lucky enough to get Karl you’re in for a real treat!!

While I appreciate the guide’s efforts, this tour did not meet my expectations. The meeting point was somewhat difficult to find. I circled the Triton Fountain several times before locating the guide, as the tourist information center referenced in the instructions was not clearly marked.
I chose this walking tour because I was hoping to learn more about the rich history of Valletta and Malta. Instead, a significant portion of the tour focused on recommendations for restaurants, coffee shops, and chocolate stores. Those suggestions may be helpful for some visitors, but I was looking for a more in-depth historical experience.
Having taken many walking tours throughout Europe, I found this one to be lighter on historical content than I expected. In the end, I felt I would have learned more about Valletta’s history by exploring independently or selecting a tour with a stronger historical focus.
This tour may appeal to travelers looking for general orientation and local recommendations, but if your primary interest is Malta’s history and heritage, you may want to consider another option.

We're pleased to hear that you appreciated the efforts of your guide, although we're naturally disappointed that the experience did not meet your expectations and the star reviewing sounds like you did not get any service at all when you did get a 2.5 hour tour from a local very well versed guide in a small group of just 10 people.
We're sorry you found the meeting point difficult to locate. It is situated in front of the Tourist Information Office at Triton Fountain, which has served as our meeting point for many years. The Tourist Information Office is marked with the usual ℹ️ sign high up above the trees and the same ℹ️ sign is also very clearly visible on the glass facade of the same building. Our guide holds a Best Tours Malta flag sign 10 minutes prior to the tour start time. We also called you 5 minutes prior to tour start time after receiving a message from your end saying you could not find the meeting point and by then you had already located the guide. We will nevertheless review our joining instructions to see if they can be made even clearer for future guests.
Regarding the content of the tour, we respectfully feel that your experience may not reflect the tour as it is normally delivered. Our Valletta Walking Tour is primarily a historical and cultural tour, exploring the city's remarkable history, architecture, the Knights of St. John, and Malta's heritage. Recommendations for family-run cafés, museums to visit and local businesses are included only briefly and are used to help guests experience Valletta beyond its monuments, not as the main focus of the tour. We do understand not liking a guide but this does take it to extremes with a 1 star review to a guide who consistently gets 5 star reviews.
We also note that hundreds of reviews from guests who have taken this tour consistently highlight its historical depth and storytelling, which is precisely what we aim to provide.
That said, we understand that every traveller has different expectations and interests, and we're genuinely sorry that this particular experience did not resonate with you. We appreciate your feedback and wish you many enjoyable travels in the future.

Our walking tour guide Steven was one of the best we have ever had in all the walking tours we’ve ever done. It’s probably because he spent time in Canada and being Canadian. We are very diplomatic and very well spoken and easy to understand. He was very knowledgable and experienced for his age. I would recommend that you want to keep this guide as one of your top going forward. I am Todd Ellison of Sunlife one of the top holistic, financial planners and all of Western Canada and I would hire him any day of the week.

Walking tour was a bit lackluster. Guide was very difficult to hear. We were a group of mixed ages and backgrounds and none of us could hear her very well (one couple left the tour because they couldn't hear her). She also walked very far ahead of everyone.

Some streets are very steep! However, the fascinating history more than makes up for this. The small group was much appreciated as we could easily ask questions.
Lots of information to make you want to explore further and we are staying for a week so will be able to visit a lot of important sites. Our guide, Jose, so proud of her heritage, was magnificent. Everyone learned so much about the history of Malta, with lots of anecdotes too. We always love tours which have you looking up, down and all around. Thoroughly recommended!

This tour was REALLY not worth the cost! It was poorly organized, a bit boring, and lacked thoughtful planning. We didn’t move around much, and the guide pretty much said she adjusted the day’s schedule based on her mood.
A major disappointment was being taken to the Barrakka Gardens at 3:30 pm when the cannons are scheduled to fire at 4:00 pm. We were told that seeing the cannons fire is a highlight, yet the guide then gave us a 15-minute break right before, ensuring we would miss it—despite multiple people in the group wanting to see it. If we weren’t going to see the cannons, it would have been much better not to be there around that time, as it was far more crowded.
Overall, the timing was inconsiderate, the organization was poor, and the experience felt careless rather than curated.

Our Valletta Walking Tour is designed as a cultural and historical walking experience, led by fully licensed guides who tailor their storytelling to the pace and interests of the group while covering Valletta’s key areas in a relaxed manner. The guide who led your tour is one of our most experienced and consistently highly rated guides, and we take any feedback about organisation or delivery very seriously.
Regarding the Upper Barrakka Gardens and the Saluting Battery, the cannon firing takes place twice daily and is not the primary focus of the tour. During high season, witnessing the firing requires arriving well in advance to secure a viewing position along the balcony, which would significantly disrupt the overall flow and timing of a walking tour. For this reason, we do not structure the itinerary around waiting for the firing, as guests are free to return independently at another time if they wish to see it.
Valletta is a compact city, and our tour focuses on depth, context, and storytelling rather than constant movement, with time allowed for guests to pause, absorb their surroundings, and enjoy the atmosphere of the city.
