What To Expect
At your chosen departure time, find your way to Hulhumale Jetty in Malé or opt for hotel pickup. Meet your captain and crew, then board a speedboat bound for some of the Maldives' best snorkeling spots. The day's sites will be chosen with consideration for weather and ocean conditions.
During the trip, enjoy the scenery and get fitted with a mask, fins, and snorkel. Buoyancy aids are also available, but snorkeling is only appropriate for those who can swim unassisted. Once you arrive at the first site, listen to an orientation on responsible, respectful snorkeling, then hop into the Indian Ocean with your guide and group and start exploring. As you float around, keep watch for rays, reef sharks, and sea turtles. Your guide will remain with the group to ensure your comfort and safety.
End your tour back at your original departure point.

- We do provide snorkeling equipment on all our tours but please feel free to bring along your own mask and snorkel. Not only will you be assured your mask fits your face properly and is comfortable and less likely to have leakage, it will also lower any health associated risks. We find that peace of mind goes a long way.

We do recommend furture guests to let us know at the time of booking if you are unable to swim or are not confident in the water. This allows us to ensure a sufficient number of tour leaders are available, especially on shared tours, as 1:1 guidance is required in these circumstances to keep everyone safe.

Absolutely beautiful under the water light and dark and different colored sea life that doesn't seem afraid of humans. Aquatic way I haven't seen anywhere else.

We had a fabulous snorkeling experience with Secret Paradise Maldives. Our very nice and friendly tourleader and snorkeling guide Kamei picked us up at the cruise jetty on time. With only a group of 8 people in a small, but comfortable boat we went to 3 different snorkel spots. We got to see many different species of colorful fish, sharks, rays and other sea creatures. The water was very clear with high visibility. Kamei took good care of all of us and pointed out the most interesting marine life. As an extra bonus he took some amazing videos, he sent to each of us. Only after each snorkeling the way back in the boat was a bit challenging. The ladder was quite high and the steps not very comfortable. But all the crew were very nice and helped us to get in. I highly recommend Secret Paradise Maldives and would take them for a tour again.

Saw turtles just about a metre away, sting ray, nurse shark, and uncountable other variety of fishes at 3 different reefs. Also, we were lucky enough to spot a few dolphins from the boat just when we started. The tour guide was a pro and provided all the required info before the start. There was perfect support from the guide and crew during the sessions. The sea was a bit rough on the day but the guide was the the front with another crew memeber at the back during the session to make sure of the safety. Also, they keep the group size low, 5 in our case, which makes the comfort and safety top priority. I don't think there is any other company apart from Paradise which will provide such an experience. Will definitely go for this trip again in the next trip.

It was a wonderful adventure to snorkel between lots of different tropical fishes and rays. We even saw a black tip shark. On the boat we saw a turtle.
The crew was very friendly, professional, helpful, and caring to make it a memorable excursion. The boat brought me to three spots in the northern Male Atoll where we had enough time for snorkeling. It was absolutely an amazing and well-organized adventure.
I can really recommend this excursion to everyone. I wouldn't have wanted to miss it!

Guide Archie was fantastic! Best fish sittings I’ve ever had snorkeling. He was very patient with my getting back to comfortable snorkeling after a number of years. Archie is a real asset to Secret Paradise.

We had such a wonderful experience! At first point we saw stingrays and many colourful fish swimming just next to us. Second point we saw turtles and another reef fish and at the third point we saw sharks and beautiful coral reef. I would like to say spacial thanks to Archi and his team as they approach was very friendly and helpful. We were first time snorkles and we would not see ocean beaty without their help. Would go any day and time with them, loved it!

Our small group had a fabulous time snorkeling. We went to three different stops and saw thousands of fish. Right away we snorkeled on top of large Stingrays - a thrill for every one of us. We saw a lot of very colorful and strange looking fish that I wish I could identified. We did see Needlefish, Parrot Fish, and some very brightly colored iridescent blue fish. And a later stop, we saw Black Tip Reef Sharks, Green Sea Turtles and a Hawksbill turtle.
Our three guides were very attentive and we felt very safe in their presence. They were instrumental in helping us see a variety of fish. They went out of their way to accommodate our needs and help us get in and out of the boat.
We highly recommend this tour!

We didn't have the best day weather wise, but it turned out well. The guys who took us were gentle, kind and patient with me, even though I'm uncoordinated when it comes to getting into the boat. I've snorkeled many places around the world, so I wasn't too impressed with just seeing lots of fish, (mainly butterfly.), and the coral wasn't very colorful. But on our 3rd stop, we swam with some very large sting rays & that was a highlight, for sure. We also got to see dolphins diving and keeping up with the boat. The guys gave us water and watermelon too.

Unfortunately, around the capital area coral reefs are under pressure from development and reclamation, although there are areas if conditions are right where there are good signs of coral regrowth and colour. Happy to hear that Shaa and the crew took good care of you, I am not great either at getting in/out of a boat so completely empathize with you.

Excellent boat in good working order. Archie showed up on time and was a pleasant guide. Fresh watermelon was provided. Saw a large variety of fish including reef sharks, several large manta rays, moray eels, and a large starfish. Only missed the turtles unfortunately.

Thanks to all the staff that took care of us at every moment.
We saw morays, black reef sharks and every kind of fishes.
It is one of the best snorkels done in Maldives.
The only choose to improve are the boat stairs.

The boat was late and I thought it was totally inadequate for the 6 snorkelers, one guide and two crew. It was small and there was little shaded area. The ladder was difficult to use and there weren’t the right fins on board which delayed our start even long. Our guide was very good and the snorkeling was very good. There was no fruit supplied as advertised. The preparation was poor but the snorkeling was very good.

Thank you for your review, I am sorry you were disappointed with the speedboat. Our guide met with you on time at the jetty but unfortunately our boat was delayed by 10 minutes due to be held up refueling at the petrol jetty despite arriving in plenty of time to refuel. Because of this Zaff extended the tour by 30 minutes arriving back at 12:30 an additional 20 minutes.
Our boat accommodates 10 persons plus 2 crew and like many small excursion vessels the ladder can be a little challenging for those used to boarding larger speedboats. Given that for most of the duration of the tour we spend our time in the water and not cruising we feel the shade coverage is more than adequate for this particular tour.
Zaff put's his hands up and apologies for the forgotten water melon. Whilst this is no excuse food is not at the forefront of their minds during Ramadan when they themselves are fasting!

Small group of 10 which was good. Good snorkelling with wonderful fish but the weather was probably a little too rough to completely enjoy the experience. It was difficult to get back into the boat. The boat was not an ideal design for snorkelling - more a passenger carrier. UB looked after us very well.

Thank you for your review, You were unfortunately unlucky at the time of your visit that we were experiencing more wind than we usually do at this time of year and this obviously impacts the surface of the ocean. UB, I am aware briefed the group at the beginning that there would be some swell whilst in the water, in order that anyone who may suffer from motion sickness had the option to cancel the trip. From my own experience I do understand that this can impact how an experience is enjoyed and I am sorry the conditions were not more favorable. If only we could all control the weather :-). However, if the weather conditions had meant it was unsafe to be on the water or snorkelling then the captain and guides would not think twice about cancelling and you are always in safe hands as our team are both Certified Life Guards and First Aid Responders.
The speedboats we use are all excursion/activity boats and are equipped with ladders and a platform at the rear of the boat in order to exit and enter the water ( for those that do not like to jump directly in), I would imagine with the conditions this would have made it a little more difficult to climb out of the water and hence why you feel they were not fit for purpose.
UB will be pleased to learn that you felt well looked after and we hope that you may have a further opportunity in the future to snorkel calmer Maldives waters.
