Olivier is an incredible guide to this beautiful region. He shared his extensive knowledge so generously and we learned so much from him. He took us to 3 different wineries, each with their own unique characteristics, and we tasted a wide range of wines reflecting each specific terroir. We had a delicious lunch overlooking the Rhone and drove to an incredible viewpoint of the river and the Hill of Hermitage. Along the way we shared great stories and quite a few good laughs. An absolutely outstanding day. Thank you, Olivier.

We had the pleasure of spending a full day with Olivier exploring the beautiful Vallée du Rhône, and it was, without a doubt, the highlight of our trip to the region.
Our tour included visits to three vineyards, two of which were in the famed Côte-Rôtie area. It quickly became clear that Olivier’s relationships with these winemakers run deep—these weren’t standard tourist stops, but personal connections. We had the impression that each vineyard welcomed us as a favor to Olivier, which made the experience feel truly special and exclusive.
Olivier’s knowledge of the Rhône Valley, its history, culture, and especially its wines, was exceptional. I have always loved Côte-Rôtie wines, but seeing where the vines grow—on steep, rocky hillsides, baking in the full sun—has given me a new appreciation for them. I also now fully understand where the name comes from!
Each vineyard was incredibly generous, not only with their tastings but also with their time. They shared insights into their winemaking process, the challenges of the business, and the family traditions behind their bottles. Between the tastings, Olivier brought us to a charming little bistro for a delicious lunch (with, of course, more wine).
The tour was truly a full package: pick-up and drop-off right from our accommodation in Lyon, comfortable travel between locations, and engaging conversation throughout. Time in the car with Olivier was a pleasure—beyond wine, we spoke about French culture, family life, and even shared some laughs about his years living in Montreal, which made the day feel even more personal.
This wasn’t just a wine tour; it was a day immersed in the people, places, and stories that make the Rhône Valley unique. Olivier’s expertise, warmth, and personal connections elevated the experience well beyond our expectations.

Olivier was amazing! 10/10 would recommend this private day tour to the Rhône valley. Coming from the US, know it is not your typical “US wine tour.” The wineries are not open like they are in the US and require advance reservations. We would not have been able to do this our our own without a guide. Olivier knew all of the owners for each winery we stopped at it was his business/personal relationship with each individual that makes this tour so unique. It was one of the best days of our France trip so far and would come back and tour Burgundy with him, if the opportunity presents itself. Bonus is Olivier is a great individual to spend the day with and is super intelligent/knowledgeable about wines. Book now!!

Olivier is not just a wonderfully friendly tour guide. He is a true encyclopedia of wine and the history of the region. He brings the tour to life by giving you the history of the area and how the wine developed over time. Olivier has created personal relationships with each winery and it shows in the type of tasting you get. This is the opposite of mass commercial Napa style, tour bus winery tastings. It is a personalized, private tour where he connects what you are interested in learning with the experience. The wines were incredible and the restaurant was one of our best meals here. We will absolutely be booking again when we come back. Thank you so much Olivier!

Fantastic tour to see the Northern Rhône. Each winery brought something special to the tour and the stop for lunch was delicious. Olivier is super knowledgeable about the wines of the region and wines in general. It was a great to learn from him throughout the day. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to experience the Northern Rhône and learn more about wine.

We absolutely loved our tour of the Norther Rhone with Olivier! During our time with Olivier, we got to explore three different wineries in the Norther Rhone region, where he was both guide and teacher. Tasting with Olivier is an amazing experience because he not only knows the wines, but also the winemaking process and importance of terroir. He was a wealth of information, and it was fun getting to learn about the winmaking process, expecially at the larger wineries.

The best wine tour we have been on. Olivier was friendly and knowledgeable about the region and the wines.
We went as two couples and had a fantastic time.
We visited two vineyards in the morning where we saw toured the vines and production, and then went onto taste a variety of wines. The tour was really generous with the variety and quality of wines we tasted and we learned so much from Olivier about the wines.
We then stopped for a fantastic lunch (outside terrace overlooking the river with classic French cooking) followed by a beautiful viewpoint of the Rhone valley. Before a final vineyard stop before going back to Lyon for the end of the day.
The vehicle was super comfortable, Olivier answered all of our questions about wine (and we asked a lot!) and we got to taste up to 8 wines at each vineyard.

As someone who worked on a vineyard and for a wine importer, I was hesitant to go the tour route. Olivier was excellent! He really knows his stuff, from vineyard work, wine making, wine tasting, etc. And, although this tour focused on the northern Rhone, he has a much wider range of wine knowledge that added to the tour. Besides the wine, Olivier provided historical context and insights that kept things interesting. My family also enjoyed the day. Highly recommend!

Our booking was confirmed in May 2023, payment was accepted and re-confirmed Aug. 2023, about 1 week prior to our scheduled Saturday tour.
9:15am on the tour date, we waited, but no tour operator. Our hotel concierge called the phone number provided, but no answer to multiple calls. Complete no show and no response. We received an email apology from "Olivier," about 6 hours later. He was "stuck in the countryside with a car problem and no connection." He refunded our full price.
Unfortunately, we could not make other arrangement to visit Rhone Valley Domaines due to last minute and many are closed Sunday & Monday (in August). We are from California, USA and we are not likely to return to Lyon, so we were robbed of this opportunity.

Olivier is exceptional-friendly,knowlegable,excellent English and an overall wonderful wine host for the day.Plus a very safe driver of his Mercedes van(very comfortable).He chose both family run and larger wineries to give a full tasting of Cote Rotie,Condrieu and Hermitage wines in the Rhone valley.The areas feature viognier and syrah (we call shiraz in Australia) grapes and we had many tastings of both,blends and other Rhone varietals. Lunch at a local restaurant was delicious.I highly RECOMMEND this tour.

Olivier was awesome! Passionate as well as knowledgeable about wine. We went from small to big as far as wineries go with 3 visits and a tremendous stop for lunch. If you want to get to know the Northern Rhône and its fantastic wines, this is a geat way to get indoctrinated!

A great day with Oliver exploring several great (small med large) wineries in the Rhone valley. While he had a tremendous depth of knowledge, Oliver was really great about walking us through all aspects of wine and wineries that we did not know. Great scenery, great tastings, met a lot of nice producers and their staff, plus enjoyed super day out from Lyon during our stay there. Highly recommended!
