Itinerary
Meet your expert guide in the morning in the center of Ljubljana, at the stunning Baroque-era Town Hall. After an introduction, set off with your guide and the rest of the group for a day of exploring this charming and walkable city. Listen as your expert guide illuminates the sights with insightful history and commentary throughout the day.
Visit the bustling stalls offering local produce and bounties of flowers near the Cathedral of St Nicholas, as your guide informs you about Slovenia’s rich agricultural culture. Stroll over the Art Nouveau Dragon Bridge, named and modeled after the city’s mascot, the dragon. Continue along the river, to Prešernov trg Square, after which you’ll traverse the Triple Bridge, created by famed architect Jože Plečnik.
You will also stop at a traditional restaurant and sample Slovenian food.
Next up, you’ll encounter Ribji trg Square. Here, you’ll learn about the city’s oldest architecture from your guide before continuing on to Old Town. Admire more Baroque facades as you walk through more popular squares taking a break in Novi trg Square, just after the Cobblers’ Bridge.
Pause at other local points of interest, like Church of the Knights of the Cross and Jože Plečnik's Križanke Summer Theatre. Cruise past the Roman ruin walls of Vegova ulica Street on your way to the tour’s crescendo: Ljubljana Castle. Soak in increasingly breathtaking views as ascend up the hill on a funicular ride. At the top, snap some photos of the skyline and choose if you want to go on an optional self-guided tour (additional expense). Make your way back down the hill in the funicular, to Krekov trg Square, where your tour ends.

Our guide was excellent, shared so much background history as we went on our walk. We stopped fairly often to listen to the history, insights into the culture, famous Slovenians, influences on the development of the country. If you like these kinds of information, then this tour is for you. If you're looking for a tour that's mostly walking around, you may feel that you're not moving as much as you anticipated. It's really what you're looking for. My group enjoyed all the information and when we explored the city ourselves after the tour, we could remember what we learned. It gave us a deeper appreciation of the city.

Its a nice way to see the city and a majority of its landmarks and attractions. And learn some of its history
Being a public holiday most of the city is quiet and shut.
Our guide was nice and friendly and kept a good pace and she was professional, but we found her explanations a little confusing and hard to follow.

An excellent tour of key areas in downtown and old town Ljubljana. Tibor was a charming host, who knows his Slovenian food, history and culture and shares that passion with authenticity and good humour. Highly recommended!
Tibor led the most amazing city tour that I have experienced. I have travelled to 77 countries. Hundreds of 1-3 hour city tours. Tibor was the best. We learned about squirrels, orange wine, Napoleon was a good guy 1809-1813, the emotion skulls artwork, singing prisoners in the castle, blueberry schnapps, the pain of Roman history constraining development, and more. Most importantly, it appears that Slovenia and Slovakia count as two different countries. So I can now go to Slovakia as my 78th country. I’m enjoying the moment when Tibors boss reads this. Buy Tibor a beer. Two beers. He is a national treasure like the famous bee man. WhatsApp me 202-297-2393 for more superlatives. I am Terran. So is Tibor.

Barbara was our tour guide she was amazing. She was very competent and taught us so much about Slovenia and Ljubljana. There were so many details we would never have known without her. We had Italian speaking family on our trip and she was very patient with us and allowed us to translate. She also gave us many suggestions on where to eat.

we were scheduled for 10 am but called by our guide to due to weather change to 3pm. the weather was fine at 10 but raining at 3 . it seemed more convenient for the guide than the weather problem.
The city of Ljubljana is one to see and experience. This is a great taster to give you a bearing of the city and then you can go explore further.
