Itinerary
Meet your guide in central Ljubljana and settle into your ride as you set out for two of Slovenia’s most enchanting wonders, Predjama Castle and the Postojna Caves. First, go with your guide to the Postojna Caves and uncovers the fascinating world of an unusual amphibian known as the blind salamanders or referred to locally as “human fish.” Explore this enthralling underground world, while your guide explains the geologic forces that created them.
Next, head to the Predjama Castle, a storybook castle wedged beneath a dramatic stone archway and against cliff. Admire the unique Renaissance architecture of the castle located in south-central Slovenia, in the historical region of Inner Carniola. From the castle, enjoy views of lush, rural Slovenia.
After that, sit back and relax on your ride back to Ljubljana.
Next, head to the Predjama Castle, a storybook castle wedged beneath a dramatic stone archway and against cliff. This tour started early and transportation was on a smaller bus which we preferred. Going earlier definitely was a plus before crowds got there. Loved our guide Maja. She shared some delightful stories from the past and shared insights into current culture and life in Slovenia. Highly recommend this tour company!!! Far exceeded our expectations.

Luka was absolutely phenomenal! His passion for Slovenia, the caves, and the castle really came through throughout the entire tour. He was knowledgeable, engaging, funny, and kept us entertained from beginning to end. He didn’t just give us information, he made the history interesting and brought everything to life. He kept the day fun, answered questions, and made sure everyone was enjoying themselves. The caves and castle were incredible on their own, but having Luka as our guide made the experience that much better. I would highly recommend this tour, and especially Luka as a guide!
The tour was great. Castle was enjoyable but the tour of the caves was the biggest highlight and not to be missed. Tour Guide Daniel was friendly, welcoming and very willing to answer any questions.
Wonderful and interesting tour. Only slight negative was the cave tour was a little rushed. But the Tour company had no control over this. Mila our tour guide was excellent.
The cave is beautiful but it is a tough walk. Long steep uphill, then steep downhill. You can’t quit in the middle so I wouldn’t recommend it for someone with walking or stamina issues.
This day was very well organized and our experience at each location was lovely. Our guide, Izak, was a real pro. He was so informative and interesting. Despite the fact that I've done this tour in the past, he made it interesting to do a second time. At the end of the day, he even gave use 2 traditional food restaurant recommendations. We've now been to both and they were spectacular. He really knows his stuff!
When we booked we didn’t know this was a small group tour- which is our preference- but we chose it because the tickets were included which seemed like much less of a hassle. It was. Our guide/driver was very well informed and organized. We were the very first people to get to the castle in the morning- which was amazing for photos. The castle itself was very wet and slippery inside because it had rained, which diminished our enjoyment somewhat. The cave was as wonderful as it is hyped to be- a rare thing when traveling. This was a stress-free, well-organized, tour and we would recommend it. While it goes from 8-2 there is no stop (or real time) for lunch so be prepared to bring or buy a quick snack. There is enough walking involved you won’t want to rely on your breakfast lasting until you are through.
If you are tall. Don’t go or require a guarantee bigger chair coz we both are 180+ and full in pain, and we where horribly sitter in the last chairs back, while 150cm tiny people didn’t even wanna switch as we asked.
Skipping line is a lie. We waited all lines or we waited for our guide to wait all the lines.
And no snacks or drink breaks. The rest like staff etc was polite and fine.
We loved this experience. Julien was a great guide! Friendly, knowledgeable, kind, punctual, communicative, etc! I am always hesitant to book organized tours but this was perfectly planned and organized! I loved the smaller group feel, and loved that everything was organized to maximize our time exploring these two unique locations! Thank you to this amazing company for starting our trip to Slovenia in the best way!
The cave itself doesn’t impress me as its history. It was used to be a den of the famous robber who is praised as Robin Hood of Slovenia before becoming the palace. You will enter the beautiful palace before going to the cave where the thieves used to hide and resist attackers being entertained with story of their defence. The caves are out of this world! I’ve never seen anything like it. Totally worth it. The castle is interesting but the caves were outstanding.
You do not want to miss the caves as they are magnificent & unmatched! Clara was an excellent coordinator sharing her knowledge and personal experiences of Slovenia on the drive to and from.
Excellent experience! Definitely a highlight of my stay and not to be missed. The castle in the cave is very unique and everyone is given an audio device for the self-guided tour. Same with the cave tour. Lots of walking but worth it! Warning: Lots of stairs and walking, so those with mobility issues should consider carefully.

Postonja Cave is not to be missed. And the castle is very unique. We’ve traveled a lot and never seen anything quite like either experience. Tour guide was great and shared a lot of info on life in Slovenia. However, Van needed seat belt and air conditioning repaired. Also the van interior was not cleaned after previous days tour.
Credit to Tilen our guide for an entertaining ride. The Castle was quaint but lots of climbing involved. The Caverns were amazing largest and best I have seen.
Wonderful from start to finish! Our guide was the kindest person. She was very knowledgeable and kept us entertained.

Very informative english speaking driver.
The car was very comfortable even though we were full. Timing was perfect between both venues with plenty of time to explore.

You continue to ask me how my tour was. Tour guide was great! Overall the cave was beautiful but extremely hard for me to walk uphill because I have a disability with my one leg.
Again I was charged twice for this trip. When will I get a refund for being charged twice?!
There is a lot of uphill walking in the cave. I have a disability with my leg and found it difficult to walk uphill.
Also, to repeat myself I have been charged twice for this trip. I paid early and obviously it was not honored because an automatic charge came two days before the trip. When will I receive a refund for being charged twice?!?!
Tour operator very difficult to deal with and goes back on their word. They were inflexible and not accommodating.

A must to do in Slovenia. Fabulous Predjama castle built into a cave and probably the biggest caves in the world at Postojna
