Itinerary
Meet your guide in central Ljubljana and settle into your ride as you set out for two of Slovenia’s most enchanting wonders, Predjama Castle and the Postojna Caves. First, go with your guide to the Postojna Caves and uncovers the fascinating world of an unusual amphibian known as the blind salamanders or referred to locally as “human fish.” Explore this enthralling underground world, while your guide explains the geologic forces that created them.
Next, head to the Predjama Castle, a storybook castle wedged beneath a dramatic stone archway and against cliff. Admire the unique Renaissance architecture of the castle located in south-central Slovenia, in the historical region of Inner Carniola. From the castle, enjoy views of lush, rural Slovenia.
After that, sit back and relax on your ride back to Ljubljana.
Next, head to the Predjama Castle, a storybook castle wedged beneath a dramatic stone archway and against cliff. The ride through the beautiful countryside was a treat and both the palace and caves are fascinating.
Our guide Anya was extremely knowledgeable about the history of these places as well as the region in general.

Didn't get the full time to tour. Due to traffic accident on previous day, driver took an alternate route, which was equally slow, so we only had 1/2 hour to tour the castle, which is not enough. I'm fit and had runners on, so I was fast going through but missed out on some. Someone older/slower would have seen even less. We were allowed 15 minutes for souvenir shopping/snacks, but if you chose to use WC, it meant zero time left.
The caves were fantastic, but no skip-the-line benefits that often come with tours. Again, rushed to leave after the cave tour, so no time to grab a souvenir.
Traffic delays happen frequently. There should be a time buffer so that people don't miss out on anything or a partial refund given when this happens.
Water was provided. The host (Jure) was good and did a great job sharing knowledge of the area and of the castle and caves during the drive. Were it not for the rushed atmosphere at the locations, I would've given 4 stars.

There is quite a bit of walking in the caves and it gets a little chilly…but definitely worth the walk.

It was lovely! I took the 2pm tour and that meant we were the last group at the caves, which make it even better as there was no other group rushing us.
I want to gice a special thanks to our tour guide as he was very nice and make the tour a lovely experience.

I just loved the castle. The cave was beautiful but I mainly enjoyed the escape from the 38 degree heat. I would of just liked a bit more time to look at the shops and have a coffee.

Really underwhelming experience overall. We only spent about 35 minutes at Predjama Castle, which felt rushed and completely inadequate for a site like that. It seemed like the tour simply did not account for traffic, which ate into our time at the actual attractions.
To make it worse, the tour guide spent most of the time talking to the bus driver rather than engaging with the group. For the price you pay, you expect a guide who is present and informative, not distracted.
Postojna Cave was fine on its own but the overall tour felt poorly organized and overpriced for what you actually get. Would not recommend, especially when there are likely better organized options available for the same route

The castle is fantastic, you get a real glimpse into the past- the audio tour is very interesting.
We loved the caves, a great local guide moved everyone along at a good pace. It is busy and touristy in the caves, but that doesn’t take away from the majesty of them. The train inside is really fun too.

This was to be a small group of no more than 8 in a van, it was a group of 16 in a mini bus. This was supposed to include hotel pick up and drop off. It picked up at only 2 hotels in reality. This was to be skip the line and we waited with the masses in the line. So no issues with the sites themselves, just the extra we paid to have the experience we didn’t get.

This was a very fun and well organized excursion. Our guide was knowledgeable on all Slovenian history and we got to see two cool spots in only 5 hours. I would recommend this this day trip.

Great tour, excellent and well-informed driver/guide, everything was pretty well ordered and we got to the right locations as planned, with swift entries etc. For me, I would have preferred to have had a tiny bit more time at the castle but suspect each person has their own limits with that type of thing!

Excellent trip with an excellent host. Castle and cave were brilliant. Something quite magical about the cave. Only small downside was that after the cave visit it felt a little rushed. The cave was busy so had to queue.

Loved this tour of Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle with To Do in Slovenia. Matej was a great guide, and the cave was really impressive, while Predjama Castle was such a unique place to visit. Everything was smooth and well organized, and it was a great way to see more of Slovenia.

The most amazing day, the Caves & Castle are just spectacular as is the Slovenian countryside however the cherry on the top was our guide Luca who shared with us so much of the history of his Country that he is so rightly proud of. A lot of walking in this tour, there is a separate guide so the guide bringing you to the caves is literally a driver and you are paying for transport but with tickets included

Tour was great. Pickup was easy. Trasport and guide were perfect.
We were in an 8seater van and it was great.
Our guide George gave plenty of information on our way to the first stop.

The tour was well organized and ran smoothly. However, I think we had too little free time to explore the castle (40-60 minutes). I also think the tour was too expensive for what it was, but this is probably caused by expensive admission fees that are included.

It was very nice to have a pick up at certain hotel when booking this tour; however, on the day of the booking it was a bit unorganized. There were many different tours at the same time and I had to ask several guides to see which tour I belonged to. We almost missed out tour if our guide didn't scream out loud the type of tour and his many people he's missing. Beside the unorganized picking up the group, the tour was very thorough. The drive was good.
