Itinerary
Meet your guide in central Ljubljana and settle into your ride as you set out for two of Slovenia’s most enchanting wonders, Predjama Castle and the Postojna Caves. First, go with your guide to the Postojna Caves and uncovers the fascinating world of an unusual amphibian known as the blind salamanders or referred to locally as “human fish.” Explore this enthralling underground world, while your guide explains the geologic forces that created them.
Next, head to the Predjama Castle, a storybook castle wedged beneath a dramatic stone archway and against cliff. Admire the unique Renaissance architecture of the castle located in south-central Slovenia, in the historical region of Inner Carniola. From the castle, enjoy views of lush, rural Slovenia.
After that, sit back and relax on your ride back to Ljubljana.
Next, head to the Predjama Castle, a storybook castle wedged beneath a dramatic stone archway and against cliff. This was a fantastic half-day tour from Ljubljana to Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle. Everything was well organised, and the experience was both enjoyable and informative. Our guide, Luca, was incredibly kind, helpful, and very patient, making sure everyone felt comfortable and engaged throughout the trip. He shared a lot of fascinating insights about the history of Ljubljana and Slovenia, which really added depth to the experience. It was the perfect half-day tour, highly recommended!

The castle and cave are both well worth the visit. The drive from Ljubljana is also very scenic. Our guide was polite and friendly. He was knowledgeable and professional. However, this tour is very quick and fast paced. There was minimal time to see anything in either place. There was not even time for a bathroom break. Of warning there are a ton of steep stairs in the castle and both require a lot of speedy walking. I think these are 2 places I would have liked more additional time...especially the castle.

It is amazing. The best caves I have ever visited. A comfortable ride to and from the caves and our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable.
You need to be capable of walking about 1.5 miles, some pathways are uphill and in some places steep. You can also stay on the train which is about 1 mile and ride back. Still a cool part of the caves.

Our guide Branko was very enthusiastic and informative. He really made the difference between an average tour and an excellent tour and ours was truely excellent. He gave us loads of information regarding the cave, the castle and Slovenia in general. I highly recommend this tour. Don't worry about finding the bus, once you're at the pickup location they'll find you.

The caves were spectacular and you get to see a lot! Around every turn is another amazing sight! The castle was an added bonus and fascinating to see how it blends in with the hillside and cave. Our guide George gave us lots of great insights into the history of Slovenia on the journey there and back.

This was a great tour! I booked it to see the castle and didn’t have any expectations for the caves, but I’m so glad I saw them too! They were gorgeous! I only wish we had more time between the caves and the castle for a snack and more time at the castle.

The Postojna Cave is beyond amazing, which is one of the best places that I have ever visited. Once you see it you would never forget it. We are lucky as the weather was good and there were very few tourists around. Our tour guide is great, he made our trip easy, smooth, and fun. This is one of the a few best trips that I have booked with Viator. Highly recommend.

Postojna Cave and Predjama castle were both very interesting places and I enjoyed them very much.
I gave to this trip 4 points because the ride was in an extremely uncomfortable minibus. The front seat next to the driver is a slightly wider seat than a regular seat. It`s too narrow for two (stranger) adults. Luckily I didn`t sit in the middle, there`s not enough legroom for an adult person there either.
This front seat would fit an adult with a child but the two children on the trip sat in the back on normal seats.
The price for this uncomfortable seat should have been cheaper than the others.

This trip, encompassing Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle, was truly impressive. The organization was impeccable; timing, transportation, and directions were seamless. The initial train ride through Postojna Cave, followed by the hiking portion, was unforgettable. The cave's size and natural formations are awe-inspiring. Visiting Predjama Castle, built into the rocks, was the perfect culmination of the trip. It's a truly impressive place, both historically and geographically. The guide's explanations were clear and comprehensive. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to see a lot in Slovenia in a short time.

Very fun half day tour to two of the biggest highlights of Slovenia! Good operator and easy drive to both venues. A little more time at each venue would be nice, as there isn't much free time after the cave tour. But overall, a good way to visit these highlights from Ljubljana.

Fantastic trip, Vladimir, out driver and guide was right on time in collecting us from our hotel.
Lots of entertaining information on route to the caves, which were spectacular and well worth a visit.
Then on to Predjama Castle, which was beautiful and we really enjoyed.
Picked up at 8, returned back by 2.30.
Highly recommend this trip!

We arrived at the meeting point and greeted by the really nice tour guide (i forgot his name but people call him the ‘caveman’). He is obviously very experienced and passionate about his country and his job. We were greatly influenced by his energy and I can say this is by far the best trip i’ve ever had! We had a great time on this small tour group. The valley was beautiful, the Tibor is one of the best tour guides out there - he is funny, engaging, knowledgeable, and shared so much of Lju's history with us. Kranjska gora valley was a bit less interesting, can consider switching this part out for something else

I went in November and it was chilly and rainy. Dress warmly and consider boots (depending on the weather) since there is water in the floor on both the cave and the castle.

We met our driver on time at a convenient location. We traveled directly to the caves and arrived a bit before the train to the cave departed. The driver provided some tour guide information on the way with a speaker so we all clearly heard the information. Her (Maia's) english was good and understandable. We were picked up directly after the cave tour ended and transported directly to the castle. We had a clear ending time and the driver departed when the last person arrived (a few minutes late) but we returned to Ljubljana at the appropriate time.
