Stunning Location and Fascinating History!

This was probably my favourite thing I did while in Lanzarote! My day spent at the Salinas de Janubio was very worth the bus trip from Playa Blanca! (10 mins on the number 60 bus) Our guide Yurena was so friendly and informative. I learned so much about this part of Canarian culture as well as some very interesting information about the general history of the island. The salt fields themselves are truly beautiful to see. There is also some lovely bird life around the lagoon. After the tour we were brought to the salt packaging area in the visitor center too so we really got to see the entire process from start to finish. There we enjoyed a salt tasting with some complementary local wine and goats cheese. They also gifted us some beautifully packaged salt to take home! In close proximity there is a black sand beach and an excellent restaurant which are nice to visit in addition. Would definitely recommend!! :)

This is a very in depth tour. While flat, be prepared to walk a lot at a slow pace. It was very windy and sunny….come prepared with water, spf, and a hat! The tour at times felt a little long but our tour guide did the tour in THREE different languages and was passionate. The best part was the salt tasting at the end. It was very educational and ain interesting way to see something different and off the beaten path.

Wir hatten eine wunderbare Führung mit Martin. Er kennt den Herstellungsprozess sehr gut, erklärt die einzelnen Phasen sehr plastisch und ist überaus unterhaltsam. Und das ganze würzt er mit soviel Passion und positiver Energie - einfach zauberhaft. Am Ende der Führung hatten wir das Gefühl, einen neuen Freund gefunden zu haben, mit dem wir bei der abschliessenden Degustation mit einem Schluck Weisswein anstossen konnten. Sehr zu empfehlen!!

La guía fue muy antipatica, contrastando con toda la gente que hemos conocido en la isla. Se limitó a dar información de las salinas sin demostrar la mínima empatia, ni intentar que nos interesaramos y disfrutaramos de la visita. La peor guía que nos hemos encontrado en todos los toures q hemos hecho en la semana q llevamos en Lanzarote.
