This was a really unique way to see the five towns from a speedboat. Our guide was very knowledgeable it was good that the excursion was only four hours The boat tour gives you unique view of the coastline that you would miss if you were taking a train. Be prepared for a bumpy ride as the waves were rolling in the times you can feel dizzy

Originally scheduled a 12 pm trip. The company called two weeks ahead of trip to notify us of a mandatory change to 2 pm due to military operations in the bay. The dock is 5 minutes from the cruise terminal (may change after port repairs) and afforded us a tour of La Spezia. We departed with Niko as captain. He was cordial and provided commentary on each of the villages along the route. We stopped for a swim before staying an hour in the last village. Sea was calm and the trip was great. Good communication ahead of time and from Niko during the trip. We had 3 kids and another separate group with us.

Very nice trip but just know you will only have 1 hour in Monterosso so it doesn't feel a bit rushed.

Our family of 6 enjoyed learning about the Cinque Terre region while being on this small watercraft. As the seas were rather rough and windy, the "thrill" of the boat ride added to our enjoyment. Swimming off of the boat added to the adventure of this activity. The time spent in one of the towns was adequate for us to have a snack and to do some shopping. There are lifejackets available for anyone who wants one. The staff were organized and ready for us on time.

This was a fun and informative trip along the Cinque Terre coast which included free time ashore. Waters were a bit choppy but our guide navigated the waters with expertise. My sons and I really enjoyed this trip!

Beautiful, but HIGH safety concerns. We got on the boat and weren’t told there weren’t life vests on board until after we were well on the water. The waves were very choppy and the boat was shaking at high speeds. We had two kids with us and the boat was miles out from land. Our bodies are still sore the next day. However, the most concerning part was DEFINITELY the lack of life vests. We were holding on to our kids for dear life. Legitimately were scared that our kids were going to fly overboard with how rocky/bumpy the ride was. My phone got bounced out of my pocket. I don’t know how this company can operate safely. Not even close to worth the risk!
That being said, the views were pretty.
Honestly, I’m astonished that a refund was not offered. I wouldn’t pay to go on that again and don’t think that I could be paid to do so again without proper safety gear.

Thank you for your review We're glad you found the coastline beautiful. We're sorry the sea conditions on the day of your tour weren't what you had hoped for.
We do want to clarify the point about safety, as it matters to us and to anyone reading this. Our RIB boats carry full safety equipment on every departure from La Spezia, including 12 life jackets, one for each guest on board. Under Italian maritime regulations for sheltered coastal waters, life jackets are stored below deck rather than handed out before departure, and any guest can ask for one and wear it at any time. The crew is always glad to provide them. They may not have been visible to you, but they were on board throughout your Cinque Terre boat tour.
The sea was choppier than usual that day, which is beyond our control, though it stayed within safe operating limits. Our skippers make the decision on the water, based on the real conditions, and a tour does not leave the dock if it cannot run safely.
Our excursions take place on powerful 9-meter RIBs, so speed and movement are part of the experience. We know this kind of boat is not the right fit for everyone, particularly on a day when the water is livelier. Families with young children join us regularly throughout the season, and their safety is handled with the same care given to every guest.

Our guide spoke English, however, he was difficult to understand. Did enjoy the beautiful views and an hour long visit to Monterosso. Returned promptly at 2 pm when expected.
Overall, we enjoyed the experience.

History of each town explained. 1 hour stop in last town to visit eat and shop.

A perfect half day outing for our family of 4 with 2 teenagers. They loved being able to swim in the Mediterranean. We also had time in 2 ports-PortoVenere and Lerici. Lerici is a hidden gem and very small local town with delicious food. Our boat driver. Matte was delightful and fun and played great music. It has been the highlight of our Mediterranean cruise vacation!

Nice tour to see all the Cinque Terre villages from the sea and Porto Venere. We also had some time on land in Monterosso and Porto Venere.
The music on the boat was very nice.
