This was a very active experience and we loved it. A few notes: Vanja our guide was wonderful...he has lived in Kotor most of his life so provided a lot of interesting information about the area and it's history. He was extremely personable. We did this tour in March..still off season for Kotor. We first walked from the port for about a mile to the bike shop, picked up our bikes and set off to the hike. The bikes are "old school"...pedals, breaks no electric capacity. We road on a narrow road which was fine but I think during the busy season it might be a bit of a challenge due to traffic. The hike was challenging for some...pretty much straight up hill. Once at the top there were beautiful views of the Kotor Bay. The description for the tour said they provided water and a snack. We didn't receive either but we were ok as we brought our own water and sandwiches. I'd suggest if you take the tour, you do the same. I'd definitely do this tour again..just be prepared for an active day! :)

Great experience! The bike ride was scenic and easy. The hike was moderate and ended at a beautiful church and abandoned village with great views of the bay and mountains.

My favorite tour of our trip! What a beautiful place. Our guide (started with a V…can’t remember his name) was the best. The experience was something so different and immersive. Absolutely loved it.

Exercise with a view, history & a local experience - don’t miss this!

What a great way to explore Kotor Bay! I can’t even begin to describe the views and local bent to the experience. Don’t miss it! Before getting too far: I want to set expectations in advance on bike quality- I’ve never done a tourist bike tour that didn’t have a couple lemon bikes in the mix- this tour is no different. The great part is that they pull a ton of bikes out and you can find one that fits/feels good- take advantage of this part. Now that the only negative portion has been shared… on to the outstanding!!! Bike ride is beautiful! It’s relatively flat and on a road with cars, pedestrians, etc so recommend that you only take confident bikers. Total distance is around 3 miles to the hike starting point, took us roughly 45 minutes. The scenery cannot be beat and the experience is magical. Hike is pretty vertical, 0.6miles to the only stop with delicious and cold pomegranate juice and some Montenegrin snacks- prosciutto, cheese, olives and fresh bread provided by a local villager when he’s available. We lucked out and had the full experience! There’s an optional extra leg of hiking after the rest and refreshments up to an ancient (but still used) church - don’t skip this part! The church is incredible and views of the bay are majestic! Let me brag a bit on our guide Luka- he was fantastic, accommodating and super knowledgeable. His mom’s side of the family is local and he loved sharing tidbits of history and knowledge. He helped us work out a big bike swap when one of our teenage kids hadn’t properly assessed their bike and became uncomfortable not long into the ride. Luka is chatty and made the entire experience enjoyable!

    Spectacular views

We took this tour when traveling to Kotor on our cruise in November 2024. The tour guide Venya met us just outside the cruise port gates. We walked a little to get the bikes and Venya told us about the area. Once we got the bikes we made a leisurely pace on flat ground around the bay with a stop at the old church for more cultural talk and great views. We arrived at our hiking stop. It was a bit strenuous of a hike but so worth it for the spectacular views. We were served fresh squeezed pomegranate juice and sat for a while to hear more of Venya's stories and to take it all in. If you want to get away from the crowds and get a little exercise this is the tour for you. We hiked back down to our bikes and made our way to a nice cafe for refreshments. The kitchen was closed so we were not able to get a snack but enjoyed talking with Venya and we had a drink..Absolutely loved this tour, it was one on the best we had on our cruise...

    Great day tour

Luca was our guide for this day in Kotor. He did a great job patiently waiting for our group as our tender was 30 m inutes later than we had planned. Bikes were not in the best shape. With our party of 3 only one of the bikes actually shifted gears. It's mostly flat so not a big deal. The hike is challenging! It was a very, very hot day 102 heat index. The 3 of us in our 60's but accustomed to biking and hiking we had to stop to rest more than I would have predicted. Unfortunately, when we got to the top of the hill, the lunch and cold drink that we were promised were not available. No one was there to provide anything. Luca apologized profusely and offered a refund for our day but it was clearly not his fault. We hiked back down the hill and pedaled on to a stop to get some water. Luca insisted that we stop to get a snack or cold drink. He was very accomodating and was trying to make up for what happened on the hike.He did his best to rectify the situation being very gracious. I would highly reccomend this tour. We had a fun day and a bit of exercise which is always a good thing! Thank you Luca!

    Well worth doing

One of the best tours we have done. We started with a lovely relaxing bike ride along the beautiful coast line to our hiking point. The hike was relatively steep but worth the effort when you get to the top where you come to an ancient village with spectacular views of the bay. We received ice cold cranberry juice and we were able to relax under the umbrellas and take in the panoramic views. Our guide Vanje was a wealth of knowledge and made the tour extremely interesting with historical information and personal stories. He was absolutely fantastic and made the tour a lot of fun. I highly recommend this excellent tour for something a bit different..
