The day was everything we had hoped. We wanted to get the lay of the land and see as much of the island as we could in six hours. Our driver, Palm, was very friendly and accommodating, customizing our experience as requested. We really enjoyed the rooftop ride through the jungle taking in such sights as temples, waterfalls and viewpoints. We finished the day touring the perimeter of the island, stopping at popular beaches along the way. Palm went above and beyond throughout the day to ensure we had a fun and fulfilling experience. We highly recommend this tour and give a big shout out to Palm for making our day so special.

There must be a better way to see the mountain area of Koh Samui.

The guide spoke hardly any English, which for a guide was unacceptable. The drive through the mountain area was a great experience, to be able to see the other side of Koh Samui, and some of the stops were good. But the lunch stop was very poor and the tour only lasted 5 hours compared to an expected 6 hour trip.

Regarding not having a guide, is because you didnt book a guide, only a driver which is clearly stated in the tour information, im sorry that you were confused by this. Maybe the Booking Platform should be clearer with their customers, or have it highlighted better. We are not responsible for the way VIATOR shows the information on the platform. It states under GUIDE & LANGUAGE no guide is included. Therefore, it is incorrect to add such a comment about any differences. All our drivers are proficient in English and can communicate effectively with customers. This itinerary has been thoroughly enjoyed by hundreds of previous customers without a guide. This particular driver, Johnny, has worked for us for many years and always receives fantastic reviews, so I am unsure why this comment has been made. I have spoken to Johnny about this, and he is confused as to why you did not understand him. At the beginning of each tour, the itinerary is discussed, and at the end, you were asked if you wanted to visit anywhere else since you had spare time. You finished the tour at Namuang Waterfall, and from there, Johnny made his way back. If you had required a guide, you could have requested this at the time of booking, which you did not. Furthermore, the tour does not include a lunch stop (as per the tour information),time is given only for a lunch stop, if time permits. Therefore, if the food was not to your satisfaction, it does not reflect on the tour itself. It also appears that after your visit to the restaurant, you appeared unahppy regarding a large group of people from a particular nationality. We use this restaurant often because it’s very clean, the food is good, and it has a swimming pool for customers to use. However, everyone’s tastes differ, and returants cannot cater to all food preferences, but we follow the many excellent reviews that others have left perviously. As for completing the tour in 5 hours instead of 6, this is because you went through the itinerary more quickly than usual, which is normal. Some customers take longer, and we do not charge extra for that. For those who finish quicker, like you, we always ask if they want to see more. You were asked, and you informed Johnny that you wanted to return to the hotel. Therefore, your comment has somewhat confused us. To summarize, Johnny mentioned that you appeared to enjoy the stops, especially the Secret Garden, where you spent a long time and spoke to him about how cool the place was and the story behind it. Im sorry that you didnt enjoy it as many others do. I will be discussing this with VIATOR that their platform information should show the full information.,

We booked this tour as we liked the idea that it was a private tour just for us both. We were not disappointed! Our tour guide (Kai) was absolutely fantastic! He drove us around the island stopping periodically to show us the beautiful sites and even picked fruit (rambutans, similar to a lychee) from a tree for us to try. We had all the time we wanted at each stop and could tailor make the tour to our liking. Kai was very friendly, knowledgeable, avoided the busy tourist periods and is simply the best 4x4 off road driver. I have to say, this was the best tour I have ever experienced in Thailand. Thank you Kai for making our day so very special.

Our driver Mai was great, very precise. We rode on top of the truck and it was like being on the Indiana Jones ride at Disney but with a much better view and we never felt in any danger.

Nice land tour around sites in Koh Samui

We had the most joyous driver for this tour. Even though English was hard, he was so pleasant and friendly with everyone. The weather was wonderful and I can see how this might make or break it if you want to sit on top. Be aware that is takes a bit of nimbleness to ride on top. Good alternative to marine tours that are closed in November.

Amazing trip with real hidden gems

From start to finish the day was amazing. Being collected and returned from our hotel took the stress out of everything and being a family with young children (8&10) meant we saw places you would normally have to hire a bike to see. We truly were taken to some amazing locations by our amazing guide who, without local knowledge, would never have known otherwise or been unable to get to ourselves so I can’t recommend this enough. Kids approved too and I think the memory of this trip will stay with them forever so worth more to us than the fee of this trip so if you’ve read this far, get it booked already, I have zero regrets!

Bumpy Ride

We enjoyed the activities on this tour, however there was no padding on the seat on top of the vehicle - so a bumpy ride became a painful ride as the bar jammed continuously into your back. The company would do well to invest in some seat padding. Our guide was not really a guide, as his English was poor and he really just drove us to destinations.

Thank you David for taking time to write a review However, i have to say that Im disappointed that you rated it low because the seat on the roof was uncomfoirtable when these seats are for a short duration only NOT to stay for long because theyre on the roof, Furthermore, the capacity for the trucks is 10 persons, but we take only 8 people because the 2 seats are on the roof. This is the preference only for customers to seat there, so you cant expect it not to be bumpy on the top of a roof, therefore, do not include as actual seating !! Also, you state the guide wasnt a guide, more a driver. That's right because that it what you paid for, a driver, not a guide. Please read the tour information correctly before booking tours and to make a review based on information that isnt factual Thank you

Great tour with great guide

It was such a wonderful trip. We did this tour with our two kids (2 and 5 year old) and all were totally excited! A big thanks to our great guide who was very gentle and showed us many things and animals during this tour. He made this trip very special. His English was perfect and he told us a lot about the history and Gabe us lots of background information. Would definitely recommend to book!

Amazing day out with Tokki as our tour guide! Took us to see some amazing spots and had good knowledge to share with us without being over bearing. Great to have a private tour which went at our own pace and allowed us to hog the roof seats which were thrilling! Very well driven and felt safe at all times! Thanks again!!

This was a great trip and would definitely recommend. The jeep was fun, driver was friendly. Only gave 4* because I had expected the guide to give us information about each place. However the guide/driver was the same person and really this is just a driver for the day who drops you at each place with no info at all about the sites. I would suggest that you read up well on each place prior to the trip to get the most out of it. Having said this the driver was friendly and stopped to show us the views, various trees and a huge spider! We went to the treetoo bridge cafe which was really lovely. Had intended doing the zip wire there but we weren’t convinced about the safety of this. The secret Buddha garden is interesting but the waterfall was dry due to the weather. The standing Buddha statue and zodiacs was also interesting. It’s a shame that this hasn’t been maintained but it looks completely abandoned which is a shame. The Nuang waterfall was also good but again, a lot less water than normal. I had enquired the day before about swimming here and had a reply back to say no because it had dried up. However there was enough water at this point to do so and people were which was a shame. There was all so a pool at the lunch stop which we could’ve used. The lunch stop was the sea view cafe which was lovely and we had a nice meal here Overall would recommend the tattoo as it’s a great way to pack a lot of the Koh samui things to do all in one day

Hi Steve thank you for taking the time to write a review. The tour states a driver NOT a guide. A driver by law in Thailand is not allowed to take you around and explain sights, he is permitted only to be a driver. To have a guide take a tour the price is increased and must be requested Previous customers state that they had a guide but they did not, its simply because the driver chats with them and they were more than happy with the information given.. Drivers also mostly dont have the information that you require that a guide would have, because they are there to drive and do not need to know this information whereas a guide must as they are licenced, to guide.and taught this information. I informed you that the water was dry, as in not as as much water as it should and the water is stagnant so i recommend not. If people want to swim in stagnant water than that is up to others. If I do not tell people this then they are not happy but it appears that telling people this also doesnt make you happy. But I will stick to what I believe is correct and safe for my customers. The lunch stop is just one of a few restaurants, that customers can choose to stop at, the pool has no relevance,, because there is no time to swim. Regards Michelle

A wonderful trip around Koh Samui, where our guide packed in so much into the schedule. From temples, to tree-top cafe's to amazing lookout points, secret gardens, waterfalls and grandmother/father rocks this trip was a great experience for our family with two small children. 4x4 was clean and tidy and our guide constantly checked we were okay and provided us with water between rest stops. Although the trip was busy with lots to see we felt the time allocated to each area was just right, we never felt rushed or wished we could move on. The guide was very professional and helped make the trip memorable.

We had a wonderful time on this trip and would highly recommend to anyone! Very reasonably priced and it was just me and my friend and our awesome guide, Toto (unsure of spelling). All the stops on the tour are stunning and we traveled in style on the top of the 4 runner. It was super bumpy but so much fun with our driver yelling that we're getting a free massage. To top it off he also made us grasshoppers out of coconut leaves!

First of all, the German translation of the title can be misunderstood. We had a lovely tour of the island. Our driver also stopped again and again to explain something to us. The best thing, of course, is if you can sit above the driver's cab while driving through the countryside. There is also time to linger at a point, or to enjoy a coffee. You could also do the tour in 4 hours, but the extra time makes you arrive sometimes. We would book this tour again.

"Tok" war ein extrem guter Guide und Fahrer. Hat uns einen sehr schönen Tag beschert. Durch die Tour hat man die Insel mal auf eine andere Art und Weise erkundet...sehr zu empfehlen. Vor allem cool waren die Offraod Abschnitte wo man auf den Sitzen oben auf dem Dach saß...
