Billy was a great guide. We followed his suggestions rather than the set itinerary and had some nice, off the beaten path experiences. Our favorite part was the Fairy Glen. It's a long day but totally worth it.

We loved our tour through the Scottish Highlands and to Isle of Skye. Our guide Roy was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. We learned so much about Scottish history and culture. We are extremely grateful for Roy’s expertise and navigating us across some tough roads. We covered so much in one day. All of the sights were majestic. What we loved about the private tour is being able to cater to our interests, for example we wanted to see highland cows and Roy found a farm for us to visit along our route. Would definitely book again next time we visit Scotland.

We had a wonderful day with Billy exploring the highlands and the beautiful Isle of Skye. The pace was perfect for our family- we all enjoyed the many stops we made along the way and were able to see so many beautiful places and enjoy ourselves with Billy at the wheel. He kindly customized the start of the tour for us and took us to a perfect local spot for lunch. The tour truly showed us the beauty of the Isle and allowed us to relax and enjoy the incredible landscapes. A fantastic day!

We have spent a huge amount of money for our private one day tour. Nearly INR 120,000 (1.2 lakhs)
In the morning it was very cool when we started but soon it started to get warmer.
We asked Billy, our driver, to switch on the AC but he said that the AC doesn't work as he has not "charged it" (I think he was trying to say that the AC gas needed to be filled).
After spending such an amount, I mentioned to Billy that we are very disappointed that the AC was not working (by the way, the car is also an old model and we did not expect this from Viator).
He stopped the car and threatened to go back if I was going to complain.
He said that he will not go all the way if I am going to complain and asked us to get a refund from Viator.
We had not come all the way from India and be asked to go back from mid way on our private tour to the Isle of Skye...was not an option!
Somehow I kept quiet not wanting to take the risk of him leaving us mid way.
I am asthmatic and cannot travel in a car with windows rolled down due to the risk of dust but there was no option here as it was very hot and the Air Conditioning was not working.
Obviously, this has been very stressing for us as a Family.
Billy also kept telling us (at least 2-3 times) not to go to the Fairy Pools since there is a two hour difficult walk and that it's not worth it...so we decided not to go there, following his advice.
It seems like we have made a big mistake by booking through Viator!

This a great full-day tour. I love the fact that it’s longer because you are not rushed from any of the 10+ stops we made along the way. Our guide Billy was fun, knowledgeable, and made sure we saw the best of sights of Skye and Loch Ness. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to use their time here efficiently.

Absolutely AMAZING experience and worth every penny. Billy was so kind and fun to spend the day with. He certainly brought us to many places we had never heard of and would never have seen if not for him. We also got to visit our bucket list locations and were pleased with the amount of time we were given at each stop. Lots of opportunities to use the washroom, eat, and even a short break to shop. Had an absolutely amazing time with my husband and friends! Billy knew exactly where to go for a full day of the best spots. We fed Scottish Cows, saw castles, ate fresh Skye seafood, viewed breath taking spots, and enjoyed the company of the very funny, professional, and knowledgeable tour guide, Billy! We would absolutely recommend the private tour from Inverness to Skye! (4 of us for the 12 hour tour)

Other reviews said that doing a private tour was the best money they had ever spent and I would have to agree with them. Not only were we able to customer the stops so that we did not duplicate anything with another tour we had scheduled for later in the week, but our tour guide Martin went out of his way to make sure we got in all we wanted to do and got back late because of that. Highly recommend this tour.

We spent three weeks in the UK and Ireland and our day trip to Isle of Skye was, by far, the highlight of our entire trip. Martin provided us with so much information and history, we couldn't have asked for a more knowledgeable and accommodating guide! He took us to all the best attractions and we only wish we could have spent another day with him learning and seeing more. My mom and I visited Scotland for her 70th birthday. The besoke tour with Martin was truly a highlight. He helped to personalize the trip based on our top most wanted activities (Clava Cairns and seeing highland coos) while weaving in the best bits for our mobility (skipping the fairy pools that might have been too challenging for my mom and taken a big chunk of our day. He added thoughtful personal touches like bringing carrots to feed to coos and stopping at a shop to get us the local specialties (fried haggis and blood pudding and the local soda). If you want a truly personalized experience this is the trip for you.

The best tour I have ever taken. Martin was an amazing guide, and an amazing person.
The places we went were stunning and probably had the most breathtaking views in all of Europe.
If you want the little extra, don't hesitate. You will never regret this tour and get a memory for life. We are very very thankful.

Billy took good care of our family and customized the tour for more hiking and scenic parts since our kids were not going to enjoy a distillery tour. Driving through Skye is very challenging and I was relieved to be in a safe vehicle with a skilled driver. We will be talking about the incredible vistas for the rest of our lives. Definitely worth having a private tour for the four of us.

Billy was very sccomodating. He picked us up an hour and a half early so we could make it to our tour at Talisker. He then would bring out the map and give us options for what we wanted to see next. It's a long tour, but worth it for the views.

This was the best thing we have done on our vacation. It was wonderful to be able to sit back and enjoy the scenery with knowledgeable and funny guides who tailored the tour to our needs. We saw so much including Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle, Eilean Donan Castle, picturesque areas of the Isle of Skye including the Fairy Pools, had a whiskey tasting and fed the highland cows! It was a great day. Our guide was so friendly and informative. He was also a lot of fun...quite humorous. He knew the attractions well and gave us his honest opinion as to "that's going to be a long hike, and I'm not sure it's worth it" ... and he was correct. We spent well over 12 hours together and we saw and learned so much about the beauty only found in Scotland.

What a GREAT time we had on the Isle of Skye. Our guide, Michael, absolutely made this trip for us. His knowledge of both the Isle and Scottish history is unmatched. His love of country is inspirational. He took us places that the bigger tour busses were unable to venture too. He was very patient as we navigated the rocky beach looking for the dinosaur footprints, which we found! The stories and tales he told were a lot of fun. We packed a lot into one day and it was all worth it.

The flexibility that the private transportation offers is invaluable. Our guide Michael took our preferences and varying ability levels into account, while making sure that we were able to experience some local gems off the beaten path. He gave great advice on souvenir and whiskey shopping and was an absolute gentleman. Very knowledgeable about the history and truly hilarious. Ladies if you get Michael he will insist on opening the car doors his tours, just lay back and accept his kindness. When we come back we will definitely chose Highland Tours 4 U again.
