This was an absolutely fantastic tour! Billy was an amazing tour guide. He’s obviously very knowledgeable, and shared interesting historical insights about the places we visited. We spent three days with Billy, and enjoyed every bit of our time with him. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to visit the Isle of Skye! We had Graham as our guide and driver. He had lively and interesting commentary on the places we visited, including some extra locations along the way. He was an excellent driver, which was important on some of the one way roads in remote areas. We enjoyed the tour very much.

We had the most incredible experience with Highlander Private Tours, traveling as a family of three with our energetic three-year-old. From start to finish, everything was seamless, thanks to the fantastic coordination by Lawrence and the exceptional hospitality of our guides, Billy and Kevin.
We booked a three-day tour, and every moment was filled with warmth, excitement, and breathtaking sights.
Day 1: Isle of Skye – Billy was our guide, and he was absolutely fantastic.We went from Inverness via North of Loch Ness to the Eilean Donan Castle and onwards to Sligachan, Portree, Uig bay and looped back via the Quiraing. Weather was great so we got to see the Old Man of Storr. His deep knowledge of the area's history, combined with his infectious enthusiasm, made the journey even more special. It felt like he was just as excited as we were! He covered our entire itinerary effortlessly, ensuring we had an unforgettable experience.
Day 2: Loch Ness & Chanonry Point – Kevin led our tour, and he was brilliant! He was full of energy, engaging, and even took us to hidden gems beyond our planned itinerary. His friendliness and passion made the day extraordinary, and our little one had an amazing time playing with both Billy and Kevin—they truly treated us like family.
Day 3: Falls of Foyers – Once again, Kevin was outstanding. He was incredibly patient and allowed us to explore at our own pace, never making us feel rushed. This was something we deeply appreciated throughout the trip—both Billy and Kevin ensured we could soak in every moment without ever feeling hurried.
Highlander Private Tours made this trip truly unforgettable, and we cannot recommend them enough! If you're looking for a personalized, family-friendly, and genuinely heartfelt tour experience, look no further. We’d book with them again in a heartbeat!

We did a day sightseeing trip of the isle from Inverness because we only had one day. We did Eilean Donnan castle, then we crossed to Skye, went up to Portree and up to Quirang then came back from the other side of the island. Billy, our guide was very accommodating and crafted the perfect itinerary to see the main sights and took the best pictures od us. Additionally, he stopped at the right spot for pictures and explained the sights. He was extremely serviceable, kind and patient with our toddler. Highly recommended for families!.

Amongst many available options, I opted for this highest rated tour with Viator without regard for the expenses.
Unfortunately, Lawrence (who operates the tour company) when asked for tour itinerary asked me to go and check on the website and ultimately outsourced our trip to another tour operator.
Ken Mackinnon was great and knowledgeable who went out of his way to make the trip informative and fun. We went from Inverness via North of Loch Ness to the Eilean Donan Castle and onwards to Sligachan, Portree, Uig bay and looped back via the Quiraing. Weather was great so we got to see the Old Man of Storr. On the way back, Ken brought us back from a different route so that we got to see more of the Highlands before approaching Inverness from the North.
Summarizing, I hope I knew about Ken who goes by "Highland tours and transfers" and had booked directly with him rather then paying extra to Viator and another tour operator who outsources jobs to others anyways.

Thank you for your review , I am so pleased you had a great tour with our driver Ken who has worked with us on a number of occassions and we specifically ask Ken to take tours with small children as he has access to baby seats and booster seats. The statement that we outsource is not correct , we work with a number of excellent driver / guides.
i actually informed you in advance that your driver would be ken , if you remember you wanted to cancel your Tripadvisor booking and book direct with us. This is quite unethical and is not something we do.
I cannot understand why you would only give 1 star when you state that you had a great day with Ken. Maybe you are unhappy that I would not take a direct booking from you after you had booked through Tripadvisor .
I have challenged this review through the Viator Content Integrity Team as I feel it is unfair because as I said we do not outsource , we work with a number of different excellent driver / guides as all our other reviews show.

If looking for a general feel of Skye in one day, this is an excellent and comfortable tour. Jim was a great guide, funny and knowledgable. A lot of driving to get to places but the fantastic scenery makes up for it. Quiraing and Portree were majestic and picturesque respectively, absolute highlights for us. Talisker distillery too!

Lawrence was fantastic!! We had a lot of fun and laughs. He was here a little early, which was great, very knowledgeable.
He was very helpful to my Mom who had broken her ankle a couple months and needed extra help. He then brought us to order our dinner so it could be delivered when ready.

Billy was an awesome guild. Super knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. The roads were pretty narrow so it only made sense to have him drive us around and show us the areas. We would have missed out on so much if we did it ourselves!
