Nice ride!

We stayed a short time in Huatulco and hired Paraiso to take us to Oaxaca by auto via the newer 5 hour route. Our driver, Hugo, was an excellent and well-informed conversationalist with very good English. Topics we covered ranged from local history and life to current worldwide geopolitical events. As a young man, it was also nice to listen to Hugo’s dreams and aspirations as we are on the other side of the age and career spectrum. The ride was comfortable and the time went fast. There are few stops along the newer road. We made one quick stop at a gas station to stretch our legs. Bring $5 MXN and your own tissue paper should you need to use the banos. No complaints at all apart from the wedding processions on the weekend can slow down traffic in Oaxaca but they are a joy to watch!

We needed to get from Huatulco to Oaxaca on vacation and there were limited options. We chose to have a driver to take us. This tuned out to be a great decision as the roads were a mess with construction and traffic. Fortunately we had a great driver Dago who spoke great English and was able to navigate us safely to our hotel in Oaxaca. It was a 5 hour drive with 1 stop in total. Well worth the price for the piece of mind and safety
