Overview

Pedal from Hoi An to My Son Sanctuary on a half-day, small-group bike tour that explores small villages and rural landscapes. You’ll cover roughly 15.5 miles (25 km.) of quiet paths and country roads, getting an up-close look at daily life in the Hoi An countryside, then visit the My Son ruins, a UNESCO World Heritage Site whose temples and towers are surrounded by thick jungle. Wasn't sure I could do it - 27km on a bicycle? But I did and it was a wonderful experience. There was nothing touristy about the day. We really got to experience Vietnam countryside and understand a very important part of the cultural history. Hán, our guide, not only gave us great insight, he looked after us very well.

Love this tour! Our host Tom was brilliant and accommodated us & our daughter well. The bikes were very well maintained, with working gears, helmets and far exceeded any other bikes we used on our tours. The countryside was so interesting, riding through the local villages. My Son is definitely worth the effort!! Lunch on the return trip was delicious!!! Thank you Tom, one of our highlights of our time in Vietnam!

I hesitated booking this experience because it is something I wouldn’t normally do, but I am so glad I did! What an incredible experience! Huy was very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. The heat was a bit intense, so I suggest bringing extra water if possible and plenty of sunscreen. I also chose to wear a cycling chamois which I would recommend for those who are not consistent with cycling. We did stop along the way for an electrolyte drink and bananas which helped. The ride was pretty flat and mellow, which allowed me to really take in the sights. This was by far one of the most incredible experiences I’ve ever had, and I will always remember it. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a different type of adventure and an opportunity to see a bit of real life in Vietnam.

Highly recommended doing a bike tour and can't fault these guys. There's more to see and experience when you're on a bicycle. The ride was very scenic and we felt safe the whole time. Went through villages and interacted with locals going about their daily lives. Talked to villagers in rice paddocks/corn fields, vendors in marketplace etc. Bought fruit from the local market (covered in the tour cost). My Son Heritage is incredible. Our guides knowledge of the area was excellent. It was very very hot but we given everything we needed to be as comfortable as can be. (Ie an umbrella 😀). Lunch at local restaurant was excellent and we had the fruit from the market for desert.

Authentic Hoi An experience by bike with local guide

The whole tour was such a great experience. Our tour guide was lovely and very knowledgeable. Despite some recent floods, they were really understanding and worked around the situation to take us around My Son and Hoi An old town. Our guide even went out of his way to get us some local snacks! Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting for the first time.

We had an amazing day with Thani and Tien of Grasshopper Adventures. The company was only three months old, all the bikes and equipment were excellent. There had been heavy rain for several days with only drizzle on and off on the day we took the tour. Biked out of Hoi An into the rural area, along country lanes and flooded areas. The locals, especially the children, were very friendly and loved having their photo taken. Stopped at a small market, sampled some food, went for coffee, visited Ancestor Temples. Lunch at the end of the cycle was really good. Air conditioned van to My Son. Exceptional day. Thank you Grasshopper Adventures.
