Fantastic day exploring the highlights of Hobart! Got to Salamanca Market, Mount Wellington, fed kangaroos, visited Richmond for lunch, and stopped at several lookouts. Despite the ever-changing weather, this was a great trip while in port! Highly recommend.

If you want to know about Hobart, this is the tour for you.

Allison_C, Mar 2026
Enjoyed the day in Hobart, views from Mt Wellington were amazing. Saw tasmanian devils and other wildlife at the animal sanctuary. Richmond was interesting, the bakery is not to be missed if you like savouries or cakes. Our tour guide was so informative. I would recommend this tour. Just make sure you're not left behind at Mt Wellington.

Julie_G, Mar 2026
The weather didn’t cooperate (lots of mist and rain) but we had a fun day anyway. I wish the tour guide (Skye) would have provided a commentary during the drive so we got more information on what we were driving past. I also think the tour organizers should have a rainy day plan as it was somewhat unorganized.

Hobart adventure

Carol_S, Mar 2026
Skye what a sweetheart very knowledgeable great driver had a super good time. She was part of the reason.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

We appreciate your lovely feedback. It is great to hear Skye made the day enjoyable. Hope to welcome you back to Tassie again!

Great way to see the region

Marie_d, Mar 2026
Mount Wellington is a highlight, but unfortunately the weather was uncooperative for our visit and we had to make other plans... Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary is interesting. The town of Richmond is lovely! Our guide, Skye, did her best to keep us all entertained and engaged while she had to go shift from plan A to plan B to plan C. All due to weather and one option being mysteriously closed on a weekday. I would probably have given this tour a higher rating if we had seen what we hoped to see ... it's not ideal in poor weather. I would recommend this excursion on a good weather day only.

Hobart view

Skye is the BEST

Corinne_M, Mar 2026
We had very bad weather and our driver offered to improvise to improve our experience and she was EXCELLENT. We got to see a platypus in the wild, had a lovely lunch, an incredible trip experience at Bonorong and she finished it up by getting us back to the ship in a timely manner. She did it all with a delightful sense of humor and a lot of knowledge. Exactly the experience I was looking for

Response from Host, Mar 2026

We appreciate your lovely feedback! It is great to hear Skye made the most of the day despite the weather and created such a memorable experience. Hope to see you again on another Tassie adventure!

Susan_P, Mar 2026
Make sure to bring a jacket. If weather is rainy with cloud cover you will see nothing at the summit of Mt. Wellington. No backup plan. It would be nice if the Richmond Goal Museum was included in the tour price. Richmond itself is quaint and historic. The Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary is a great nod to Tasmania and their wildlife preservation

Not a guided tour

Larry_B, Mar 2026
This was not a guided tour. But more of a bus that dropped us at 3 locations. There was very little guiding. We received occasional comments during the 2 hours of driving (maybe 20 minutes total). There was no guiding at the stops. Maybe I misunderstood, but I was hoping for more than a bus ride.

See it all in a day!

Tracey_K, Mar 2026
Great pace to see all the highlights - Tasmanian devils, Mount Wellington, Richmond and beautiful countryside. Mark was knowledgeable, kept it light, and fun.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Thanks for your kind words. We are glad you enjoyed the highlights and that Mark kept the day fun and informative. Would love to have you back at Tassie!

Great tour - lousy bus.

David_W, Feb 2026
The itinerary was great! We really enjoyed all the places we went. It was the middle of the summer and in the park it was cold and rainy. Our biggest complaint would be the bus we were in - the inside of the windows fogged up completely. We told our guide/driver but he said that there was nothing he could do. It was almost impossible to see the sites as we were driving.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Thank you for your honest feedback. We are glad you enjoyed the itinerary, and we are sorry to hear about the issue with the bus windows. We appreciate you raising it and will look into this. Hope your next visit to Tassie brings more great memories.

Tour good, transportation uncomfortable.

Glenn_S, Feb 2026
Good tour, knowledgeable driver/guide. The instructions of where to meet could have been clearer and on the ticket. The bus seat space was not very good for anyone over 6 feet. Also the bus seemed overloaded, as the suspension bottomed out frequently.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Thank you for your honest feedback. We are glad you found the tour informative and we appreciate your comments about the meeting instructions and bus comfort, we will certainly take this on board. Hope to welcome you back to Tassie in the future.

Oh my gosh we had the best tour guide Pascal. He was so informative and had so many interesting facts about Hobart. He really loves his town and all it has to offer. He went above and beyond to make sure we were not disappointed. Just a fabulous day

Exceptional Tour - Exceptional Tour Guide Jodi Alexander

Kalinga_W, Nov 2025
The tour covered variety of interesting places in and around Hobart. The tour guide, Jodi Alexander was exceptionally good. When we went up to Mt Wellington it was exceptionally cold and my wife decided not to go out as she did not have a jacket. Jodi insisted that my wife wore her jacket as she wanted my wife to go out and experience the beauty. Beneath her jacket Jodi was wearing a short, sleaved T-shirt. Jodi treated every member of the tour exceptionally well, was very knowledgeable of the places we visited. I highly recommend this tour, and tour guide Jodi Alexander

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Thanks for joining us! We are glad you enjoyed the variety of stops and Jodi’s guiding throughout the day. Would love to have you back on another Tassie adventure!

Unfortunately because the weather would not allow us to dock, we were not able to do our tour. The staff at Viator and Tasie Tours were awesome! We will definitely go on a tour with them in the future!

Response from Host, Nov 2025

Thanks for your kind words about the team. We are glad your group still enjoyed the tour even with the change in plans. Hope your next visit to Tassie brings more great memories!

Great Shore Excursion

BRYAN_L, Mar 2025
Great tour with limited time. Our guide Rick was very informative throughout. We enjoy the fact the tour provides transportation and lots of information about each stop but then you can spend time on your own based on the guide's recommendations.

Fabulous tour!

Jeremy_T, Mar 2025
A fabulous tour to give you a taste of the area. We were out for a little over six hours. The coach was small and our guide was extremely knowledgeable. All in all it was excellent value for money. We would have liked a little more time at the stops, but this wasn’t possible due to the ships schedule.

Excellent tour, but remember that it might be cold and windy up at Mt. Wellington. Tour guide ,Peter, was very friendly and helpful.

Really Good Tour

Great way to see the city and experience the local animals. Tour was well organized and had really good pacing. Highly recommend.

Great Tasmanian adventures!

Ernst_D, Mar 2025
Beautiful experience in Tasmania with much information by our guide and driver. Interesting visit at Bonorong Sanctuary! We could see the Tasmanian evils and feed kangaroos. Magnificent views from Mountain Wellington. And the beautiful city of Hobart. A great excursion.

Fun tour of Hobart

Philip_D, Mar 2025
Great way to see the sights of Hobart and the surrounding area in a relatively short time. Our guide (Peter) was great. He adjusted the schedule based on the weather and provided us with lots of local knowledge.

Michelle_S, Mar 2025
Andrew was a great tour guide. We got to experience some extreme weather at the top of Mt. Wellington - what a view. The highlight of the day was the visit to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary where we got to feed the kangaroos.

Excellent tour! Glad we took this tour. Thank you very much.

Estrella_W, Mar 2025
Had a great time. Super knowledgeable of topics and great background to stories. Knew just so much about area and its history. Very friendly. Highly recommend this tour with him.

It was a great ship...

Michael_K, Mar 2025
It was a great ship excursion. It was easy to find the tour just outside of the terminal building. The twenty person van was comfortable and was driven by Mark, our capable and entertaining guide. Mark elected to take us first to Bonorong the animal park in order to beat the cruise ship tour buses. We enjoyed walking the grounds and observing the various indigenous animals and petted the free roaming kangaroos for about an hour. We left driving through the scenic countryside to Richmond, an old English style village. We had an hour in Richmond which was not enough time to have a proper lunch but was enough to have a snack. There wasn’t much of interest in Richmond to see or shop. Leaving Richmond we drove to a park for pictures from an overlook of Hobart and the port where our ship was docked. Our drive to the final stop, Mt Wellington took us back through Hobart and up the winding road to the summit. The scenery was beautiful and Mark’s commentary was funny/informative. At the summit we had sufficient time to enjoy the 360 degree spectacular view of the surrounding countryside. If you do this tour take something warm for Mt Wellington is windy and significantly cooler than Hobart. Overall the tour was great and Mark’s commentary was an excellent tour guide.

The tour stops were very...

Della_H, Feb 2025
The tour stops were very good. The guide could have been more informative. Chatted about sports most of the time. Also there really wasn’t time for lunch as the restaurants needed about 40 min to prepare food.
