This trip has a fair bit of driving with ample time at each destination to explore and enjoy. Jarrod was the perfect driver and guide. He was able to keep track of our group without hovering. Got to see many kangaroos as well as other Australian wildlife.

Paul was a fantastic guide with a great sense of the best order to do things in so that we could take advantage of changing weather conditions. I'd gladly go on a different tour with Paul, but this one was so good that I'd do it again tomorrow is I was still in town. Paul and this tour were that good!

Great tour through beautiful countryside and city

Pam_F, Mar 2026
Lovely tour of the area. Despite the rain the Bonorongo stop was interesting and fun. Beautiful drive thru the countryside and our guide Simon was friendly, informative and cheerful!

Great tour!

deborah_s, Mar 2026
This was a very organized tour. We met in the port terminal (so easy). Our tour guide was Simon who was very informative about so many aspects of Tassie life. We would highly recommend this tour

A great day wandering Hobart!!

Cindy_S, Mar 2026
This was a great way to explore the Hobart area and visit Bonorong animal rescue site. Being able to hand feed kangaroos and view a wide variety of other indigenous animals was amazing. Simon was an exceptional guide and gave us lots of interesting and informative insights into this area. He did a great job adapting to the weather and we were able to enjoy Richmond (charming) as well as make a couple of stops at beautiful overviews. We thoroughly enjoyed our day and it worked seamlessly with our cruise ship schedule.

Excellent day around Hobart

Robert_S, Mar 2026
Despite steady rain it was an enjoyable day. The Bonorong animal sanctuary is a must see. Our guide grew up in Hobart and has travelled around the world and had a terrific perspective on life in Tasmamia

Excellent tour & guide. Jerrod was very knowledgeable and friendly. Met us at the terminal with no problem & answered all questions we gave him.

Wonderful Tour

Lisa_R, Feb 2026
This was a wonderful tour. Our guide, Paul, greeted us at the cruise terminal and transported us up to Mt. Wellington where we enjoyed an amazing view. We then went to Richmond where we found a delicious lunch at the Richmond Bakery which Paul recommended. Finally we went to Bonorong where we were able to feed many kangaroos which was such a treat. Unfortunately many of the other animals were sleeping because of the heat. Paul explained that he had reversed the stops for our tour because the clear morning would allow us to enjoy the view from the mountain which would likely not be possible in the afternoon due to the forecast. Ordinarily he would have taken us to Bonorong first because the animals would be more active in the morning. Paul delivered us back to our ship well before our back on board time. I would recommend this tour.

Great tour!

john_r, Feb 2026
Great day of many first times for us. Wish we had clear weather for top of Mt Wellington. But the rest was awesome.

Must take this tour!

dlszabo, Feb 2026
Great tour, easy meet up, excellent guide Jarrod, he was so knowledgeable, funny and really made alot of effort to ensure we had an excellent tour. Great stops!

Great short excursion

Maria_H, Feb 2026
The entire outing was incredibly well planned. All three stops were awesome. The sanctuary was particularly great as we were able to feed kangaroos and see so many interesting animals. It worked fine as a short excursion off our cruise ship.

A can’t miss experience.

Kyle_B, Feb 2026
We had a wonderful trip through the greater Hobart region. Our driver/guide was fantastic. We loved the wildlife recovery center and Richmond town more than we expected to. The Mt. Wellington experience was literally numbing. The wind, cold, and snow was the price to pay for an incredible view. Hobart is a beautiful place!

Hobart experience

Kathleen_P, Jan 2026
Our guide Paul was very good. He did a good job explaining what we were seeing just one little hitch, the people at the back of the van had a difficult time hearing. The headset was not working properly so only those sitting close to the front could hear. We loved the little town of Richmond however not given enough time to eat and see the cute stores. I would suggest having at least 1 1/2 hours.

The tour was very informative. Our driver, Jared was a gem. He was very knowledgeable about the island.

Great time at Hobart

ChrisJordan_V, Jan 2026
We had a wonderful time in this tour. Our tourguide, Paul, arrived early and luckily we were the only ones in the tour group so we were able to leave early and have ample time on each stop. Paul was very friendly and helpful, he pointed out historic spots and shared lots of info about Hobart, especially useful tips like what food to try, and even let us try the sweet cherries from the market. We would recommend this tour to anyone who is visiting Hobart.

Paul gave us a great tour. He's very knowledgeable about the area. Richmond is a very pretty little town. The view from Mt. Wellington is fabulous! Highly recommend this tour!

Great tour! Jarred was so so good! World of information all along the way! Mt Wellington was spectacular & the wildlife sanctuary was picture perfect! Wonderful day😎

Great trip, accommodating to our schedule

Roxy_W, Dec 2025
Our driver, Paul, was knowledgeable, friendly, and good driver. They were accommodating to our tight schedule. We git bonus fun ride at the end!

Awesome day

Gail_V, Nov 2025
We had an awesome day exploring all over Hobart . Our tour guide Paul was absolutely fantastic . He went above and beyond to show us and tell us all about the beautiful places we visited and more. I have to say thankyou Paul it was a pleasure hanging with you and our group today. Note Tassie devils are cheeky rascals and gave us a little show today round and round the garden 😍 @booryong wildlife park . The park was a great experience as well glad we visited . Thankyou Gail .

Great time in Hobart

EVELYN_F, Nov 2025
It was a very small group which allowed us flexibility in where we went and how long we stayed at each place. Our driver could not have been nicer and went out of his way to ensure we had a great rcperienve

Cruise ship could not dock

Dennis_T, Nov 2025
Our Holland America ship was unable to dock due to high winds. The tour provider was very apologetic and hoped our travel insurance would cover our cost! When I complained, they did say they could cover 50% of the charge. Helpful, but not great. If we had booked with the cruise ship, we would have had a total refund. Obviously, this makes us very reluctant to use your service in the future. We will share our experience with friends and family.

Response from Host, Dec 2025

We were just as disappointed not to be able to welcome you on the day. It's difficult for everyone when the cruise ship cancelled so late. It was due in port at 7am and cancelled at 7:40am. We had hire vehicles and guides waiting to welcome you, already at the cruise terminal. When bookings made through Third-parties, follow their own cancellation terms, which can differ from booking directly with local operator or with the cruise line. Even so, we did our best to offer a partial refund to help in a situation that was outside everyone’s control. We hope that one day you’ll be able to visit Hobart again in calmer weather. We’d love the chance to show you our beautiful part of Tasmania. If you book directly at iWander Tasmania we offer full refunds if the cruise ship doesn't dock.

Hobart wanderer.

Peter was a great guide. We saw everything there was to see. It was a great tour. Boomerong was wonderful. We all had a great time

Hobart shore excursion

Doris_A, Mar 2025
Mt Wellington is not worth the 2 hours of time and driving in the fog. Bonorong is better first thing as the animals are more active. Richmond was worth a drive through it a coffee stop. Over all a 3 star tour. Our Guide Gary was informative and friendly. Bus a bit cramped and warm. I have used I wonder Tasmania in the past and was very pleased with the additional stop at a national park rainforest with waterfalls can't remember the name but it was a highlight of my visit to Tasmania last time. I would recommend this company. Different tour.

Great tour!

George_N, Mar 2025
My wife and I enjoyed our experience on this tour. We had a great tour guide (Paul) who gave excellent commentary over the course of the tour. We got to see much of the countryside as we traveled from the cruise port to a animal sanctuary, a historic town, and Mt. Wellington. We had plenty of time in each stop.

Peter was great and...

Courtney_W, Mar 2025
Peter was great and waited for those of us still stuck on the cruise ship due to the slow immigration process. He provided a local touch to his commentary. This was my favorite excursion so far on our cruise. View from Mount Wellington was great even if it was a little overcast. I enjoyed seeing my new favorite animal the Tasmanian Devil at the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary as well as the Wombat and Echidna. We had enough time in Richmond to check out some shops and get a snack. Really had a good time today and felt that I learned a lot about Tasmania. I was pretty impressed given that Peter is a sheep farmer who is helping out his son - what a great dad.

kenkrupp, Mar 2025
I was disappointed with the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. We saw one Cockatoo, one wombat and one Tasmanian Devil for a split second.

Excellent tour

Josif_B, Mar 2025
Had Excellent experience thanks to our tour guide Paul. He shared with us his passion about Tasmania in genera and wild life there. Beautiful views from a top of Wellington mountain. Lots of Kangaroos and other animals in wild life sanctuary:)

The stop at Mt Wellington...

martynixon, Mar 2025
The stop at Mt Wellington was too short. Stopped for 15-20 minutes on a beautiful day. Not nearly enough time to see all of the views. The animal rescue park was fantastic. Spent about 90 minutes there which gave us lots of time. The visit to Richmond was nothing special. We spent 75 minutes there which gave us time for a quick bite and a walk around a typical small town. Wish we had spent less time in Richmond and more at Mt Wellington. The driver/guide tried his best but found him a bit boring.

If you come to Hobart with short time make this the trip you book

Alison_B, Mar 2025
Brilliant day, Brett our guide was so knowledgeable particularly about the wildlife & about life in Tasmania. Full day but we never felt rushed & time flew by. One or best trips ever & we’ve done a few.

Stephen_S, Feb 2025
The town of Richmond very cute. Also enjoyed Wellington Mountain cold and windy at the top. Rescue Hospital ok animals were lazy that Day. Our guide Brett very knowledgeable and friendly.
