Ha Long Bay is a stunning destination, lush, magical and peaceful.
We spent a really fun day with a very friendly guide and group of other tourists.
Our guide, Toan, facilitated the trip and ensured we had a very nice atmosphere and enjoyed the day. As we were ahead of time, he even improvised a stop in the nearby pearl museum, which was very interesting.
I will recommend to my friends and repeat myself when i return in Hanoi.

What a great experience! And made all the better by out tour guide, Tony, who I will remember for the rest of my life! So informative and funny and kept us together as a team - much love. The visit to pearl farm on the way was really interesting to see and the half hour we were there was the perfect amount of time. Ha Long Bay is just stunning and we got to see it from comfortable chairs on the boat which had a second open roof floor for even better views. The lunch was so delicious I went back for more! Lots of options to choose from in the buffet set up. First stop was TiTop island which is definitely worth the steep climb as the views are incredible at the top (a much needed ice cream once at the bottom though). Second stop was for activities, I chose kayaking which was a magical experience to kayak through a small, slightly crowded, cave into a beautiful wide opening, and of course I had to get a few echoes in. Tony even got some pictures of me coming back in in my kayak and sent them to me later which was lovely as I am solo travelling so can't get many pics of me doing things. Third stop was the largest cave in Ha Long Bay which really was incredible. Tony was so informative here and pointed out all of the stories and shapes you can see on the ceiling or walls. Overall, 10/10 experience and would definitely recommend.
The only downside to be prepared for is the amount of boats in the bay - there are a LOT. But you will get that with any company you're with.

Trip was well organised, timely pick up and drop. First stop is the Pearl farm( To be honest it's overpriced). Halong Bay also known as Descending dragon is a beautiful place, however it's overcrowded and water is polluted with plastic bottles, garbage. Administration must take care of this issue at earliest to preserve such an amazing place.

The best part of the trip was the energetic guide we had who made the whole trip effortless for us. He had a great sense of humour and the energy levels of a small kid.
The whole package was well timed in that in one day we could relish it all without feeling tired.
Last but not the least, the lunch was a great experience and delicious too.

This was just the right amount of time needed for the visit and a very well put together itinerary.

Booked a private tour and Tony was our tour guide. He was so informative and so welcoming to my group of 4. The private tour is well worth it and a must do for Ha Long Bay. We took a quieter route and was able to enjoy everything more with our tour guide and Tony was very knowledgeable on everything he showed us. Lunch was amazing and fresh and the boat crew was very sweet! My group absolutely loved the private tour and had an amazing time. Would book again!

The day included a Pearl making visit and the only complaint was buying two Vietnamese coffees and being short changed 50$US

Brilliant day. Only about 2 hours from Hanoi. An amazing lunch on the boat and met some great people on the day. Ha Long Bay really did take my breath away. We were luckily it was a clear sunny day. Would totally recommend.

Hiking to the top of Titop Island offers a great panoramic view, chance to catch an amazing sunset over a glass of wine, and kayaking option included. I would say this is the best day trip itinerary for Halong Bay for this price.

Amazing experiece! Everything was smooth. The pick up service at the hostel was on time and very friendly. The guide explained a lot. It takes about 2 and a half hours to get to Halong Bay. After the lunch on the boat (aboundant and tasty) you get to do a hike, swim, go kayaking and explore a cave. You can do all the activities without having to choose.

A good combo of activity and chill. You get off the boat to explore an island/islet and then get back on the boat to relax and enjoy the limestone pillars. You get to kayak, walk through a cave, and take steps to a viewpoint.

Nam was an amazing tour guide! Very knowledgeable about the history of Vietnam and great person all around. The tour was great! Got to see the beautiful caves in Ha Long Bay and the boat cruise was super relaxing as we saw the bay.

I can’t forget the exhaustion, hunger and tiresome itinerary, together with the only 1 available meal the entire 12 hours tour. Horrible. This tour does not detail the whole itinerary. It does not say that for the entire trip there is only 1 meal you can get. This is for younger tourists and this requires really good fit to climb a total of 600+ 90degrees steep stairs. Trip is boring and superrrr hot in everywhere during summer. We were stuck in a boat ride for hours.

Halong bay is beautiful and we had a great time cruising through the bay.
If you don't want to wait around in the bus while they pick up passengers then you should pay for a private car to the halong bay port. After all the passengers are picked up the ride is pretty smooth. They make 2 pit stops. The last pit stop at the pearl farm was at least 30 minutes which was too long. The pearl farm was boring and a waste of time.
The time spent on tip top island was too short. They expected us to hike to the top in 15 minutes and swim for another 15 minutes. I think they should at least give us an hour on this island not just 30 minutes. Meanwhile they made us wait around for 30 minutes at the pearl farm.
The food on the cruise was not good but not terrible. I barely ate. Although some people enjoyed it.
The boat itself was fine. If all the windows are opened and fans are on then you get some what of a breeze. The top level of the boat needs more chairs. The bathroom was clean.
Our tour guide was friendly and chatty and helpful.
The tour started at 8am and ended around 9:30 pm. It was a long day but fun. I enjoyed it.

Phoung was a wonderful guide. Cruising through the bay was truly amazing. But the places we stop (Ti Top Island & kayaking) is for such a short time (25-30 minutes). Also it's where everyone stops. In such a huge area, I'm surprised everyone goes to the same place at the same time. Kayaking we got very limited time. It's a very long drive but the bus was comfortable. I do think it's worth the drive.
The lunch was truly horrible though. Truly just terrible.

Very good tour and excellent tour guide, you see some amazing things but the seafood buffet was awful. I'd still recommend the tour but take your own lunch!

All went well tour guide met us at the terminal as arranged.
The trip lasted 4 hours . Only did 10 minutes on bamboo raft trip very disappointing 1* knocked off because of this.
The mist & bit of rain spoilt what would have been a super trip.

Did a day tour of Ha Long Bay with this company yesterday.
The limestone caves were a pleasant surprise, and the karsts were simply amazing. The tour company did a great job ensuring that the travel involved was as smooth as possible, helped in no small measure by Toan, our chirpy and entertaining tour guide. Our only complaint was that the tour bus was a little cramped for the size of our group, but understand that there are limitations and you will be fine.

I visited Ha long bay in November. It was little rain on the way to Ha long bay, but I could see beautiful scenery and sunset. The trip was reasonable price.
I recommend to visit in dry season because upper deck on the cruise ship has small roof. If it rains, you can't enjoy bamboo boat either kayak.
Only disappointment was a driver. The driver was handling his smartphone and watching Youtube during driving (over 90km/h!) on expressway. Bus often ran on traffic lane boundary!
