We were picked up at our hotel by our guide and taken to the tea hills where we picked our own tea. The guide provided much information about the history and methods for tea picking/processing, it was a very good time! Would recommend wearing long pants as you may be walking between tight tea shrubs.

We had a great experience! Pick up is at your hotel and once you get to the location you can even do the tour through the tea plantation in a traditional costume. Everything is explained very well and you can even buy the fresh local tea! Definitely recommend!

Flexible pick up time and private transfer were amazing. We knew a lot when on the way to the tea plant. Kids were very exited to wear traditional clothe for tea picking and overall the process. It’s very hard to show for kids all the steps of tea production that they were interested and guide did it 100%. We’ve known that we can: not only drink tea, but even eat leaves from tea. And super bonus that price for this tour with English speaking guide was cheaper than for a group trip (from 10to 40 people) that made our experience ten times better)) thank you very much for the tour

We had a great time learning about Hangzhou and experiencing Chinese tea culture! Forrest was a great guide and we learned a lot from him. Would definitely recommend this tour to others visiting Hangzhou.

Fun experience, and very friendly and knowledgeable guide. Very picturesque landscape. Probably better in spring.

Such an enjoyable and memorable experience – highly recommend! Forrest was very knowledgeable and shared so many interesting facts. He also showed us some lovely spots in Hangzhou. Thanks to him and the team for such a great day!

Fun and informative tour. Even in the rain we were able to pick our own tea leaves and see the mixing process. Forrest was a great host and gave us a lot of information about the history of tea in China and Hangzhou.

This is a very local and amazing experience! Forrest was a phenomenal tour guide. He picked me up at the train station, and chauffeured me to a tea farm about 30 minutes away. at the farm, I was able to wear traditional clothing, pick tea leaves and process the tea leaves. The green tea here is phenomenal and I think I’m converted into a tea drinker. The only reason I would deduct 0.5 stars is because it seems a little sales pitchy at the end. During the tea tasting the woman leading the tasting was trying to sell me on medicinal green tea tablets for health which I was not at all interested in. I did end up purchasing loose leaf tea which was quite expensive but it can last up to 5 years in the freezer.

The guide was kind and knowledgeable about tea history in China. We really enjoyed the trip and the tea picking and tasting experience. Thanks, Forest.

The trip was amazing. We had Mr. Forest Gan as our personal guide. His knowledge about Hangzhou and Chinese tea made the trip even more interesting. We definitely recommend this tour for those who wanted to learn about Hangzhou and Chinese Tea especially Longjing green tea.

Amazing experience! I can truly recommend it for those who are interesting in the story about tea and trying the original Hangzhou green tea. I had very sympathic driver Forest, who sopke amazing English and was very talkative and friendly. We are very happy we had this opportunity to be part of this Asian adventure.

The tea tour with Forest was hands down one of the best things that we did during our trip in China! Forest was the best guide who provided an extremely authentic and honest insight into Chinese culture and history which was so fascinating. Forest is extremely knowledgeable on tea culture (including both the production and tea history) and is also an extremely friendly guide with a brilliant command of English. On the tour we managed to learn how Chinese tea is made from root to source (quite literally as we picked our own tea leaves in the field!) and the influence that tea has on Chinese culture. Amazing!!

Forest was a great tour guide, the plantation was beautiful, and the tea was great. Seeing, tasting and learning all about the tea was definitely worth every penny.

This tour was excellent. We picked some tea leaves, watches the drying process and had a tea ceremony. What made the tour so great was our guide, Forest. Because he sometimes picked tea as a young boy. He is very knowledgeable about tea. Forest also shared a lot about Hangzhou’s history with tea and it was very interesting.

My little sister and I loved learning about tea and picking the tea. We could've been out in the field for hours. Forrest (our guide) was lovely and accommodating, as well as informative. The experience when we went was short, and there was a bit of a sales pitch for the tea at the end. But overall, it was fully worth it. Highly suggest!

Great experience with Forrest. He was very flexible on timing and when we needed to make changes to the reservation. He provided great background information on the drive and showed us where the tea is processed. My family is local and told me that the location and company is well respected. Note that the tea drinking session was informative, but they are also selling their products. However, they also gifted us 2 small canisters of tea.

I booked this tour and the Yongfu Temple tour. Forrest is an amazing guide and I was not disappointed. He is very knowledgeable (I learned so much about Hangzhou and the history there) and accommodating, even helping store my luggage after the tour when I had extra time before my flight! I will definitely book another tour with Forrest the next time I am in Hangzhou!

Dear Celia,
Thank you very much for your review.
I had a good time with you and look forward to meeting you again someday.

Forrest is very nice and prepared. He promptly answered all our questions.
The tour is nice and is composed as follows:
A few minutes spent picking tea on the plantation (which is very beautiful and scenic) then you go inside where they explain the steps and show you the drying, then they make you try green tea. And finally a last mini walk in the plantation. (2 hours more or less)
I put 4 stars because the price seems a bit high for the business but it was still nice for me who had never seen a plantation

We visited a real tea plantation, accompanied by a very knowledgeable guide, who spoke excellent English and was also kind in picking us up.
The experience, however, proved to be a bit limited compared to the cost, especially for a small group of four people: about 15 minutes dedicated to picking leaves on the plantation, another 15 to observe the production process and about 50 minutes for tasting tea.
Overall, I recommend the experience only to large groups: in my opinion, it does not justify a price above 20 euros per person.

Forest's English guide was easy to understand and we had a great time! I learned a lot about the process of making Ryujing tea and the recent situation of tea production. Also, the beautiful tea plantations in the terraces are amazing! They dropped us off at the desired location and we were comfortable on the train.
