Your journey to the heart of south Cappadocia begins at your Goreme hotel, where you’ll board an air-conditioned vehicle destined for Derinkuyu Underground City. During the short 30-minute drive, your guide provides history-rich information on Derinkuyu Underground City, the largest excavated city in Turkey.
On a guided tour of the subterranean community, see churches, kitchens, and water wells formerly used to support the existence of more than 20,000 people.
Then, continue to Ilhara Valley and embark on a 2.5-mile (4-kilometer) hike along a route formed thousands of years ago by the Melendiz River. Located in the middle of the Ilhara Valley is the village of Belisirma, replete with ancient churches and restaurants selling fresh local produce.
Here, you'll stop for a traditional Turkish lunch in a recommended restaurant before you continue, revitalized, to Selime. Famed for its churches carved into rocks and the 13th-century Selime Monastery, Selime boasts a plethora of historic monuments.
Return to your vehicle and travel to Pigeon Valley to enjoy panoramic valley views and discover how the valley acquired its interesting name. Your final stop is a lookout point in Goreme, from where you’ll absorb views of Cappadocia’s lunar landscapes and unique rock formations.

I would not recommend this tour for a number of reasons, but as the title explains, primarily because the tour guide nearly left two groups behind on two separate occasions. Both times, the guide made no effort to count the number of persons in the group and only did not drive off because other participants notified her that people were missing.
Additionally, the tour of Ihlara Valley (which was 15 euros per person) was a colossal waste of time and money. The main attraction is the churches that are carved into the valley, but they are closed due to a danger of collapse, which the guide knew ahead of time. Knowing that, this leg of the tour should have been taken out altogether. Instead, the tour thought it was a good idea to take the group on an unimpressive yet expensive 30 minute walk amongst some trees.
The stop to a random jewelry store provided no value to the tour, and was merely a blatant attempt for the tour company to earn a commission. Moreover, that store is steps away from Uchisar Castle, which we would have far preferred to see.
While the tour guide was nice, I would not recommend this tour at all.

This tour has couple of driving on country side hours. The guide provided information on the place we arrived. But he was clearly disengaged between places. Didn't provide an overall background on where we were passing or going. So you couldn’t prepare yourself on what was ahead, or an understanding on the places across the route. He didn’t wait for the group to be together yo start his explanations, and taken into account the size of the group it could be good for him just to at least try.
Considering the time on route, the van as specially uncomfortable. I had taken couple of tours in the area and this van by far was very tight for the number of people.
The route itself was not well planned. We stopped in two high points with plenty of of time while we rushed in the small hiking going to lunch., which included a steep hiking on the middle of day, after couple of hours in the van, and hungry.. this can take away that you admire more where you are.
Also we were talking to a jewelry store.. where thanks to the reviews I didnt buy anything. These tours should stop to support SCAMs for tourists.
BTW to the operator next time you txt someone to write a review at least check what kind of tour they went with you. And don't use tactics such us “I am just stating my business” so you get good reviews.. Clearly you have many tours in the area..

The tour was really really interesting , worth doing the underground tunnels and history of the tunnel was fantastic. Definitely it’s a tour you have to do when coming to Cappuccino.

Did this tour a few days ago, and really like most of what we saw! Only negatives were an unexpected trip to a jeweler (the reason given was to learn about jewelry making / gems native to the area, but was definitely a cash grab. Assuming there’s a relationship between the store and the tour company operators. Same thing happened at the end of the tour, but this time was at a coffee / Turkish treats type shop. This stop at least was more interesting, and not a $$$$ cash grab.
Aside from those two mild irritations, your was really fabulous. Our guide Erin was great, exceedingly knowledgeable about the region, and engaging and interactive. Loved the areas we saw, including an unexpected stop at the pigeon valley overlook! Lunch was delicious, much better than I expected given large group tour food expectations. Some of the stops could have been a little briefer, the bus driver seemed to have friends at multiple locations and so we were on his schedule a few times for the smoking and chatting breaks. Wasn’t the end of the world, just annoying waiting in 100+ degree heat for the bus to get turned on / ac going to leave. Would recommend for sure, just be patient 🙃

Our recent tour experience was unfortunately marred by poor conflict management from our guide, Ada. From Travel Mania
During the tour, my daughter followed the guide’s instructions and placed her belongings on a tour bus seat to reserve it—something Ada had explicitly advised so passengers could return to the same seats after ground stops. Despite this, another traveler family took her seat not once, but twice, ignoring that her items were already there.
The first time, we politely reminded the traveler family that the seat was already taken, and he returned to his own. But shockingly, the second time he did it again—and instead of addressing the issue fairly, our guide Ada chose to bend the rules, allowing him to keep the seat without even checking in with my daughter preferences.
This felt not only unprofessional but also unfair. The guide failed to uphold her own seating instructions and showed no regard for the discomfort it caused. A simple, neutral resolution could have prevented this, but Ada chose to appease one party without considering the full context or ensuring all travelers felt respected.
What should have been a smooth, enjoyable tour instead left us feeling disappointed and overlooked. I hope future tours are managed with better consistency, fairness, and professionalism.

The tour was good but in the end I missed my sunglasses in the bus. When I asked them to return it back they said that they never found it. So someone took it.

I'm currently in the process of trying to get a refund for this tour and am scratching my head at the positive reviews - we did not have a good experience and got scammed out of €30 for 'admission fees' to Ilhara Valley that we didn't actually visit. The guide took us to Belisirma (the lunch spot) through a valley which was not ticketed and not at all the official Ilhara Valley trail, pocketing the cash we paid for entry to the real-deal. We did not get nearly the allocated time for the main sites (for example, 20 mins instead of 50 mins in several places) and Pidgeon Valley was skipped entirely. To make matters worse, the bus broke down before the underground city stop and we were on the road for 1 hour - this is nobody's fault, but nothing was done to make up for this or offer compensation/extra time. I could go on, but the upshot is of all the tours and experiences we did on our holiday this one was the biggest disappointment. Avoid the company Tourmania if you can!

We would like to state clearly that Tourmania does not tolerate any form of misconduct or misuse of entrance fees by guides. Your allegation regarding the Ilhara Valley admission fee is taken extremely seriously and has been escalated for internal investigation with our local operations team and the guide involved. If any irregularity is confirmed, appropriate action will be taken immediately.
Regarding the itinerary, the walk near Belisirma Village is a short scenic section commonly included in the tour before lunch; however, this should never replace the official Ilhara Valley visit if the entrance fee has been collected. We regret if this was not explained properly or if the visit did not match what was advertised.
We also acknowledge your comments about shortened visit times and the missed stop at Pigeon Valley. These deviations are not in line with our standard program and should have been communicated transparently on the day. As for the vehicle issue, while mechanical breakdowns are unfortunately beyond our control, we agree that better communication and consideration for guests’ time should have been provided.
We sincerely regret that this tour was the biggest disappointment of your holiday, as this is not the experience we aim to deliver. We encourage you to continue your refund request through Viator so the matter can be reviewed fully with all booking details, allowing us to address it fairly and properly.

My family took the "Green Cappadocia Underground City and Valleys Tour. Lunch incl." package for touring.
The tour had his pros and cons. I most of the places we visited. I did not like the gift shop and the turkish delight shop we visited. I feel like we could've spent more time at some of the places we visited instead of being rushed to come back. The guy at the gift/jewelry shop falsely will claim you cannot purchase the zultanite outside of Turkey since they are not exported which is NOT true- so do not fall into the trap. My guess is that the two shops have some type of affiliation/commission agmt with the tour company.
Ihlara Valley was closed and we were not able to not into the temple, again this could've been replaced with another site since the tour guides knew they were under renovation.
The lunch is served at the same site as the Ihlara Valley and it wasn't that good except the lentil soup was great way to warm up in the cold.
We were picked up at 9:35 sharp and dropped off at around 5ish. The communication was good.

We consisted of six individuals, including three couples, making a total group size of 12 participants. We were promptly picked up from the hotel and found the car to be quite roomy. The lunch provided was simple and somewhat modest in portion. Our guide, named Ofuk, truly stood out with his exceptional service. He displayed a high level of helpfulness, attentiveness, and politeness, even going the extra mile to capture photos for us upon request. His extensive knowledge and ability to adapt to our group's needs left us extremely content with the trip, particularly impressed by his guidance.

If you want a stress free vacation avoid this group at all costs. They were extremely rude over the phone (when I eventually got through to Murat on the morning of the tour), and made the decision not to pick me up without communicating this to me on the the day of the tour. Sadly, they are only interested in your money with zero service. Save yourself the hassle and rent a car to visit the the beautiful landscapes of cappadocia.

Great experience! The viewpoints are worth, the stop at every stop to visit are wonderful. They have a quick stop in case you want to buy jewelry or local products but only if you want to expend some money. Lunch is good and tasty, at the end of the trekking you can relax, resting your feet into the river.

The tour was well organised. The guide, Ufuk, customised the order in an effort to avoid the crowds; it seemed to work out well. Ufuk was informative, engaging and friendly. The food at the lunch stop was pretty good. Note that this tour actually involves quite a bit of walking, including a little bit of a climb and decline in the underground city and monastery (in total I did 10,000 steps). Good footwear is recommended, as there is uneven, even a little slippery, ground in Uhlara Valley and the underground city.
What was not good: being texted a few times by the tour company (not the guide) to give them a 5* trip advisor rating, even before I'd been dropped back. Once would've been ok.

It was great tour and great guide, we also skipped the onyx workshop tourist trap. What annoyed me is the tour organizer begged me for a 5 star review before the tour even ended. They had to meet some quota and kept messaging me on WhatsApp that evening, until I just blocked them.

Did a tour in Chinese and found Kazim to be very fluent in Chinese and generally a jolly person to be around. Kazim gave us a impeccable explanation on the various sites that we visited. The highlight of the day is definitely the Kaymakli underground city. Strongly recommended!

Hicimos el tour en ingles, eramos 7 personas. Desde el punto de vista del recorrido, lo recomiendo solo si tienes tiempo suficiente en Cappadocia, lo que más me gustó fue el Monasterio de Selime y la ciudad subterránea de Derinkuyu.
Por un lado comentar que a diferencia del tour norte se está mucho más tiempo en el autobus porque evidentemente se esta mas lejos de Goreme.
El el autobus a diferencia del tour norte que hicimos tambien con Tourmania no había agua de cortesía, y aunque se especifica que las bebidas no están incluidas, por 65 euros creo que es un detalle barato para el cliente.
La ciudad subterránea de Derinkuyu está bien, pero sinceramente creo que hay tener un minimo para esta en forma fisica porque tienes que subir escalones y agacharte por los techos tan bajos, es algo claustrobico. Por eso, si no estas en forma o eres claustrofobico no recomiendo entrar porque no es algo espectacular, aunque esta bien. Tambien comentar que nuestro guía Edanur (se le entendía muy bien en inglés) durante la visita a la ciudad subterranea nos tramitió serenidad y seguridad, por lo que no pasé miedo y no tuve ningún problema en subir los escalones.
El monasterio de Selime esta muy bien, y es muy interesante, pero me pareció muy mal que sólo nos dejaran 25 minutos para sacar fotos., una pena por parte de la organización
La comida, lo peor del tour con diferencia. Se come en un restaurante al lado del rio, no lo ví nada de higiénico, la comida estaba regular, pero sobre todo comimos rodeado de avispas. Ademas las bebidas eran carísimas , parecía que estabas en Estambul. Agua 30 liras, Coca-cola 100 liras, el problema no era el precio (también), el problema era el lugar donde lo cobraban.
Valle de Ilhara, sinceramente una gran decepción, se hace un recorrido super corto, por un rio que podría ser cualquiera de cualquier sitio del mundo. Lo que si que era interesante o curioso las casetas que había al lado del rio, con patos, una idea muy interesante y divertida.
En resumen, la excursión podría estar bien, pero a diferencia de la norte, creo que Tourmania debería de mejorar a nivel de organización.

Hay que felicitar la calidad como guía de Ahmet que nos hizo la visita mi fluida , aporto datos interesantes y siempre con una sonrisa. Muy interesante la ciudad subterránea, valle ilhara y el monasterio. Recomendable.
