      Horrendous experience

      Joanna_P, Jan 2025
The description and photos are deceptive. The stables are run from a shanty shack ghetto next to a high class stables called Diabat Ranch. This tour offered no safety equipment. The stables were of an appalling quality made from junk and pallet wood. It was a ghetto. The horses looked very thin and hungry. The horses were being hit and beaten by men all around us. The horses had zero energy and it was very difficult to even get them to move. The men broke thorned branches from nearby bushes and asked us to carry them with us and to hit the horses with them to make them walk. I refused which meant the horses hardly walked. We were then told to kick the horses hard, not a tap but repeatedly heavy kicking the whole way. We had only moved about 10 m. This was just not an option. Horses should not be treated like this. We refused to repeatedly heavy kick the horses. Our guide swapped his horse with mine when I complained. He had no more luck than I at getting g it to move any faster unless he hit it repeatedly. It was an exhausting miserable experience. I had signed us up for the 5 hour trek with picnic, which said we would visit, beach, forest, dunes, old ruins, and picnic with a fire. On the Viator booking form it even asked what dietary requirements we had. When I asked the guide how we could ride for 5 hours at this excruciating slow pace and achieve the whole tour he said we would simply tude to the top of the beach which would take about snd hour and ride back to the stables where we would not have a picnic but be given a tagline in the filthy run down cafe near to the ghetto stables. This cafe had been the meeting place for the beginning of the tour, I knew how filthy it was and did not want to eat there. So no forest, no picnic, no 5 hours tide. About 4 horse tours passed us or I should say overtook us on the beach from Diabat Ranch. The horses were strong and healthy and everyone in the groups were laughing and having fun, my friend and I decided it was kinder to the horses to just stop, we asked to return to the stables. On the return journey it was faster for us to get off the horses and walk beside them. Our guide was angry with us. He got a boss on the phone who was telling me it was our fault not the horses. I have ridden all my life and owned my own horses in the uk. My friend is a confident rider also. I asked for a refund, we had been with the horses for about 45 mins then. There followed abuse on the phone from the boss who said he did not want to talk to a women and it would be better to talk to my male friend. Then a string of messages were sent to me via the Viator platform where he told me if I cared about animal welfare I should not tide horses. How ridiculous coming from someone that runs a riding your company. I wish animal welfare in his country existed. He and all the other shackghetto operators should be shut down. So stressful, such an awful experience from start to finish.

      Great riding day out!

What a wonderful day! Beautiful scenery-miles of untouched Beach, sand dunes, and shrub forest, a gorgeous Arabian stallion, a super guide, two nice companions, and a super picnic-who could ask for more? This is one of the best tours I've ever gone on. A friendly, knowledgeable guide, great weather, amazing scenery, and almost no other people. Be aware it is 5 hours of riding, though. I can't rate this tour any higher!

5 hours on horseback + picnic

I would like to thank Muhammed warmly for the quality of his instructions. His calm and kindness allowed me to gain confidence quickly and enjoy the experience to the fullest. The walk was simply incredible: between the beach, the forest and the dunes, the landscapes are beautiful and offer a real sense of freedom. Being able to steer your horse at your own pace makes the experience even more unique and galloping provides unforgettable sensations. The group I was in had an advanced level. Being intermediate myself, I was able to follow, but I recommend that less experienced people choose a shorter duration, as the ride can be demanding. An experience I highly recommend!
