Visiting North Qatar and its World Heritage site Al Zubarah fort

AnneMarie_W, Oct 2025
I had a great time with my guide Javid from Falcon Tours checking out North Qatar, including the old fishing village of Al Khor where they still follow an older lifestyle and fishing dhows are not just for tourists. It was cool to visit actual mangroves-not something I expected in Qatar. But the highlight was seeing the World Heritage Fort, which is a reconstruction due to is destruction earlier times. To get the most out of this fort visit, I highly recommend visiting the National museum even prior, which has a comprehensive history of Qatar, including a great review of Al Zubarah and the importance of pearl fishing traditionally. It’s very insightful and interesting. Javid was such a good guide, he helped me take some great videos including some he took and added great tips for improves photos! Very cool guide 🙏🙏

Great tour…Mangroves

Amir was an outstanding tour guide! En route to my kayaking trip, he shared so much knowledge about Doha, from its history and culture to hidden gems along the way. His passion for the city and ability to make the experience engaging made the tour both fun and educational. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a memorable and insightful experience.

Great half day private tour with Javid!

Javid made this tour extraordinary and well worth it! I'd highly recommend if you're limited with a time. It was above expectations and covers all main areas and points of interest in Doha!

Poor!

Our guide was TOTALLY Uninterested in us, the culture, and was NOT knowledgeable RE: the area, the country or culture.. He could NOT Wait to get back to his car. When asked about a subject: "i really do not know!"

Awesome afternoon.

Our guide Ali was amazing. He was thoughtful, knowledgeable and helpful. We were picked up promptly from our hotel. We visited The Islamic Museum of Arts and the Souq Waqif and both were facinating. On the way back to our hotel, we stopped at the water's edge for some more amazing photos.

A highlight of 36 hours in Doha

Amir was a great guide with a clean modern car and terrific knowledge of Doha. We not only saw the sights but heard great stories and learned about Doha. I highly recommend this tour.

Doha City Tour

A quick tour of the city pinpointing the major areas. A few interesting areas, however the new Qatar Art building is worth spending time in.

Not a really enthralling tour. The majority of this tour can be done on your own and if you read up on the sites you wouldn't need the guide

Doha 4 hours
