A very nice experience. We have been picked up at 6.20am. Then we drove for around 1 hour before stopping for a coffee. At that stop our guide has introduced himself and let us know the plan for the day. Then we have been taken to another hidden gem in the mountains (not mentioned in the itinerary, so it was a pleasant surprise). After we have drove to the dessert in Ksar Ghilane, where we have been given clear instructions and let known what time to be back to the car. You have a choice of choosing whether to ride camels or quads (extra cost) but no one is going to pressure you.
Then we went for lunch, and after we left dor Matmata. Beautiful places, full of history. Our guide has spoken in French but also translated in English for my husband and I, which we really appreciated.
After that we have been taken to another two beautiful view points (again, not mentioned in the itinerary but still beautiful) and returned to hotel around 7PM. A huge thank you to our driver and guide which made the day pleasantly and funny. It was really worth the money and it is highly recommended. Please bare in mind that it will take the whole day but it is a really good experience.

The entire experience was great, starting with the drive to the various stops along the way. Quad biking or camel ride (you can pick either) is not included in the price so that is extra if you want to do some desert activities in Ksar Ghilane camp. There's a water body there too in the camp where you can take a dip - we went for the Quad bike experience and it was great. Two people can fit into one quad and the cost as of September 2023 is 30 euros. Camels can take one person at a time and the cost is 15 euros. The lunch was very good as well, comprising of chicken couscous with a killer sauce and a tasty brick. Lunch ended with watermelon.

It was a very nice day together with our guide-driver. We were able to see everything we wanted and the guide did it in a very professional and nice way. I enjoyed it very much and I learned a lot. Don't miss it when you are in Tunis!

Pünktliche Abholung im Hotel, sehr netter Reiseführer (sprach sogar Deutsch) und Fahrer. Auto war allerdings sehr eng, jeder Sitz war belegt und ich musste auf der Mittelkonsole sitzen, nicht so angenehm…ansonsten aber lustige und kurzweilige Fahrt. Wir haben wirklich viel gesehen und erlebt an nur einem Tag! Haben für 15€ den optionalen Kamelritt gebucht, was auch empfehlenswert ist. Auch das inkludierte Essen war sehr lecker und reichhaltig. Badesachen für die Oase unbedingt mitnehmen!

A excursão é altamente recomendável e completa, saímos do Hotel em direcção a Ksar Ghilane, e pelo caminho contemplam-se paisagens impressionantes, desde planícies desérticas a planaltos montanhosos, passando por tipicas povoações e parando aqui e ali em alguns miradouros para tirar fotos e apreciar a paisagem. Já em Ksar Ghilane, apesar de ter já uma infraestrutura turística considerável, com restaurantes, empresas de aluguer de moto 4, camelos, etc, e lojas de lembranças, não deixa de ser um oásis real no meio do deserto tunisino. Há uma fonte de águas termais a 35 graus que brota do meio do solo e forma uma lagoa natural onde podemos tomar banho, contraponto aos passeios que podemos dar pelas dunas de camelo ou de moto 4. No regresso fomos em direcção a Matmata, e parámos numa casa Troglodita incrível, habitada por uma família berbere, com várias divisões cavadas na própria montanha, tipicamente decorada e com poucas comodidades modernas, onde comemos pão feito na hora no forno a lenha da casa (deixámos alguns dinares de livre vontade, é uma forma de contribuição justa para quem abre a porta para turistas mas não pede nem impõe nada em troca). Em Matmata fomos ainda ao Hotel Sidi Idriss, que foi utilizado como set de filmagens do Star Wars, como a casa do Luke Skywalker, e mantém ainda vários elementos da decoração original utilizada no filme, uma experiência imperdível mesmo para quem não for fã dos filmes. Ainda no regresso parámos um pouco numa vila berbere construída numa encosta montanhosa, com uma arquitectura própria e diferente da arquitectura tradicional tunisina. De mencionar o apoio excepcional da nossa guia Faty, que para além de falar várias linguas, foi sempre simpática, prestável, explicando tudo ao detalhe e sempre nos deu tempo e privacidade para aproveitar todos os momentos do dia. A não perder, vale a pena todos os quilómetros percorridos.

Ein grandioser Reiseleiter, Memo hat ein Höchstmaß an Unterhaltung geboten, so dass die doch insgesamt 6 Stunden Fahrzeit kurzlebig und aufschlussreich waren! Das Beste was man mit dem Quad fahren kann!! Sehr gutes Essen in schönem Anbiente im Camp mit Bad in warmen Quellen! Absolut Empfehlenswert!

Der Ausflug an sich war super ohne jede Beanstandung. Wir haben gute Eindrücke vom Land und Wüste erhalten. Negativ: man wird verleitet, überteuerte Quad oder Kameltouren in Kshar Ghilane zu machen. Essen war gar nicht gut und der Fahrer verlangte auf eine sehr freche Art Trinkgeld nach der Tour und war dann extrem unfreundlich. Die Tour an sich würde ich jedem empfehlen
