We went on a night when it was pouring torrentially! But the staff went the extra mile to make sure that didn’t dampen our moods.
To summarize: the experience is like you are welcomed into a Fijian village. It is not commercialized or big budget like Hawaiian luaus in big cities, but you are fed and you are entertained and you are educated on the culture.
No issues with pick up from our hotel lobby, we got there 5min before pick up time (which was communicated clearly through the Viator app).
The driver got off the car and used an umbrella to walk each passenger on board so they don’t get drenched.
Upon arriving, you see your assigned seat with your name. You are split into 2 groups: one group gets the cultural lessons and other groups get to tour the village and when done, they swap. They offer huge umbrellas to use when walking around the complex in the rain. This is not a fancy place- this is a cultural village and please be respectful when there. Bathroom facilities was clean and due to the rain, there were slippery areas. Staff members stood nearby to ensure you don’t get hurt.
They offer mosquito repellent and re-iterate to apply, which obliged since I’m a mosquito magnet.
We got to see a kava ceremony, traditional dancing. All very informative and no commercial nonsense.
We got to see the food being pulled out of the lovo oven, then were seated a short amount of time before we got up to self serve, buffet style. Food was quite great! A little sad that palusami ran out before we got to try, but we were overall quite content with the food selection.
After dinner, there is a fire dance and they wrapped up the night by getting everyone to dance, which was so much fun!
There was no pressure to tip, but seeing how hard the staff worked we made sure to leave something generous in the tip box and smaller tips to individuals that helped us. A bit disappointed to see most folks did not even tip. Reminder folks: people here make ~$2FJD per hour. A little something on your end goes such a long way for them. If you keep them comfortable, it will make future visitors have the same great experience that you had!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed and thoughtful review! We're absolutely thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your evening with us, especially despite the torrential rain.
It’s wonderful to know that our team's efforts to keep everyone dry and comfortable made a positive impression—from the umbrella service at pick-up to guiding guests through the village. We truly believe that hospitality is at the heart of our culture, and your kind words about our staff will certainly be shared with them.
We’re also grateful that you appreciated the authenticity of the experience. It means a lot to us that you recognized our goal of sharing Fijian culture in a respectful, non-commercial way—from the village tour and kava ceremony to the lovo feast and meke (traditional dancing). We're glad you enjoyed the food (though we’re sorry the palusami ran out before you got to try it—we’ll do our best to manage portions better next time) and that the fire dancing and group dancing brought the night to a fun close.
Your note on tipping is also deeply appreciated. As you kindly pointed out, our team works incredibly hard to ensure every guest leaves with a smile, and your generosity and awareness of the local economy truly reflect the spirit of gratitude and respect that we cherish here in Fiji.
Thank you again for joining us and for being such wonderful guests.
Vinaka vakalevu (thank you very much)

This cultural tour was very informative and engaging. The village personnel provided excellent details regarding the village culture, their people, and everyday life. Historical details were also provided. The village tour also gave each of us a glimpse of how the village functions and how all of the villagers provide for each other. The food preparation was very interesting to see and it all tasted very good. The cultural show was also enjoyable and tourists were asked to participate alongside the village. Great way to learn about some of the Fijian culture.
Response from Host, Feb 2026

It was very nice. Informative dinner and show were great
The transport driver didn’t count heads before leaving center and was going to leave when there was a lady still in bathroom

Positive and negative aspects of my experience. I contrast this with a similar evening in Rotorua which was far better (and more expensive) than this one.
Negatives: One hour of driving around in a van to pick up other guests after I was picked up at the Sheraton. Thankfully, we were one of the first stops on the return trip.
Half hour wait for other guests upon arrival.
Seated with Japanese couple who did not speak English. At Rotorua I had been seated primarily with English-speaking guests traveling solo.
They offered fish, chicken and lamb as entrees. I am allergic to fish so tried some chicken and lamb. The lamb was quite good but they had run out of it when I went for a second helping.
Positives: People were very nice.
They provided an interesting little tour of some huts and the history of their people.
The show was quite entertaining although a bit repetitive.
They invited the guests to participate in some dancing which nearly everyone did.
Overall, worth trying if this is your only opportunity and you are up to joining in the dancing
Response from Host, Feb 2026
