We had the good fortune to have Fanis as our guide/driver for the day and he was amazing! Not only did he share the robust history of Corfu and the surrounding areas, but he gave us strong insight into what day to day life was like today. Amazing private tour

Xenofon, our driver and guide was wonderful! He was very flexible and tailored our tour to our needs and desires! We visited a farm where we had the most delightful hostess. She had prepared wine tasting, olive tasting and olive oil tasting. All delicious!! We then went on to the monestary. Then we went on a private boat ride to the caves! So beautiful! We then traveled to the Old Town where we were able to do some shopping! Xenofon went over and above as my mom is handicapped and needed extra assistance! Take this tour and ask for Xenofon!!

For the most part we enjoyed the tour. The driver was nice and very informative about the island. It had a little bit of everything we wanted to do - a visit to a local producer of olive oil and honey, a visit to a monastery, quick photo stop overlooking the beach and a drop off/pickup at old town. The only complaint is that we thought there might be another food stop since the name of tour is “Taste of Corfu.”

Exceptional Tour and Staff

Very good trip, personally had a great time in Corfu! This tour is perfect for a half day excursion as you will get to see the countryside, historical places and breathtaking vistas. The beautiful place was greatly complimented in great part with our driver, Makis. He drove safely and our vehicle was exceptionally clean and nice. He also served up useful information such as the history and industry of Corfu (we now know that Corfu has about 4.3 million olive trees and is a key olive oil and olive exporter)! The owner of the Carburi Estate, while very funny yet informative, displayed her homemade specialties and told the story of each one. Overall, a 10/10 experience!

Our guide Paulina was terrific. Very knowledgeable, interesting and friendly. The food/ drink tastings were delicious local selections. (Skip breakfast beforehand). Going to the top of the fortress is a great way to see the city. Highly recommend.

The way to see Corfu

Capo Greco contacted us by email a few weeks prior to our Cruise to check everything was ok. Advising the places we would visit and asking if there was any amendments or add ons we would like and they would do their best to accommodate us. We were picked up outside the terminal as advised, our Guide/Driver holding a sign with our name. We immediately felt relaxed and in safe hands. We felt this was the best way to see as much of Corfu in the time we had. We were not disappointed. Our Guide was very informative. We were given 2 hours free time at the end to walk round the old town. All in all a very pleasant experience. We are a couple in our 70’s and we would recommend this company and tour without reservation. Thank you!

We thought we would spend a short time at the beach, but we just drove by it. The monastery was very nice. The tasting was at a little place, run by a very nice family, but we dipped bread in his olive oil outside on the porch. Very good olive oil. The wine tasting was of 2 wines. Served in a small plastic cup like cough syrup cups. We got 1 sip each of the two wines. We had a nice time but we thought we were going to see how olive oil was made and to a real winery.

One of the reasons that someone is booking a tour privately is that he/she is free to change the itinerary as much as he/she wants. You just had to tell to your driver that you wanted some time at the beach, as we are actually very very flexible. Regarding the tasting, you have visited a family owned place with many different kinds of local olive oil, wine, kumquat sweets and more exactly as it has been described. We think that it's better for a visitor to taste many different local products than just Olive Oil and in 4.5 hours that this tour lasts, it was impossible to visit an olive oil mill or a winery (and still do the Monastery & the Old Corfu Town). It's a pleasure to read that you had a nice time & if you ever come back to Corfu we would be very happy to arrange a custom full day tour for you including Olive Mills & Wineries. Absolutely the BEST private tour experience!!!

This tour was exquisite!!! The van was spacious and air conditioned and the driver was SO friendly and knowledgeable!!! We will never again book an excursion through the cruise ship. For the same money you can book a private tour with these folks and be treated like kings and queens. No lines and you can tailor your tour to see anything you want. I highly recommend adding a boat excursion to see the sea caves!!!! There’s nothing else like it!!!! Perfect!! They heard it was our daughter’s 21st birthday and they concluded our tour by giving her 2 bottles of Corfu’s finest wine!!! So special! Trust these folks to give you a once in a lifetime experience!!!

Not worth the money

We were supposed to see a monastery, the beach and do a food and wine tasting. We spent 80% of the time at the monastery which was beautiful, but never made it to the beach, other than driving by it and the guide pointing it out. The food tasting was bits of bread to dip in olive oil, and sticks to dip in honey. 2 wines and a couple of olives. Tour was not as described and not worth the cost. Felt like a complete waste of time. So disappointing. Most of our tours were wonderful but I would steer clear of this one

Almost all of our reviews for the "Taste Corfu Private Tour" are 5 star reviews, so we clearly want to see what went wrong with your group. Spending 80% of your time in the Monastery is extremelly too much! We usually give 20-30 minutes there so there will be always more time for the beach, the tasting & the Old Corfu Town and according to our GPS tracking system, you stayed there 30 minutes. I will personally speak with the guide for that issue though to see what happened. Regarding the tasting, it is an old school local products tasting and NOT a food & wine tasting. In this table you can find 13 different kinds of local olive oil, olive paste, sundried tomatoes, 5 local honeys, 6 different local marmalades, local sweets, 3 different wines, local kumquat products, local limoncello, ouzo & tsipouro. It was a traditional local products tasting & it was exactly as it was in the description. Most of our guests love this place because it's actually the only place in Corfu that you can taste so many local products all together. Also the tour was private so you were actually free to choose how much time you can spend in each place... Why didn't you tell to the guide that you would love to see the beach & spend some time there? Our tours have an itinerary, but we customize them according to everyone's needs (that's the main reason of booking a private tour anyway). An amazing taste of Corfu

One of the best tours ever . If on a cruise and have a short time to explore I suggest this excursion. Fannis our driver was the best. Took us to the most amazing tasting of wine, olive oil, olives, honeys and marmalade’s. The lady that owns it makes everything herself and was truly the most hospitable. We could have stayed all day. The tour was just ok. Our driver was super sweet and such a nice guy, who was flexible enough to incorporate what we wanted to do. The disappointing aspect was the tour description that said, “ relax during a wine tasting and visit an olive oil producer.” This was more or less a visit to a store with a display of olive oils and sweets set up. It was nice and everything was delicious, but I expected to visit the actual olive oil production facility or something similar. Also the wine was just an offer by the shop owner, “would you like a glass of wine?” It wasn’t a visit to a winery of any sort. You will have an awesome time, once these are not the expectations.

Not the best choice for CORFU

Our guide met us and he was a very nice guy, John. Unfortunately there was a language barrier and he didnt seem fully engaged in telling about CORFU. The olive oil tasting seemed a bit of a scam and tourist trap. In retrospect I wished we would have spent our time in old CORFU. By the time we got to the area we had less than 1.5 hours to have lunch and see anything. John did not seem encouraging of adding any time on to our visit, as we have had with other guides through VIATOR.

We are very surprised that the olive oil tasting seemed a bit of scam and tourist trap to you as it is an old school, traditional olive oil tasting with more than 10 olive oils (all from Corfu!). Also the products there are all home made and it's one of the places that everybody loves to go because the tasting is actually so full like a breakfast... In Corfu Town our clients usually spend approx. 1 hour but even if you really want to enjoy the town and see everything and also have a lunch, you need approx. 3 hours there. You have booked a 4.5 hours tour and our driver John did it 5 hours and 15 minutes for you, so actually there was some more time without any extra charge as we always do to our clients. Value not worth the cost

The best part of the tour was actually not part of the tour- it was a private one hour boat trip that our guide arranged for us when we asked. Otherwise the tour was more of a driver instead of a guide. Silence in the car the entire time- didn’t tell us at all about Corfu and dropped us off and picked us up from locations. Food tasting was standing around a table for 10 mins with 3 other groups and then getting shuffled inside to buy items. Honestly not worth the money for what you get.

Absolutely an amazing day! We arrived early and the owner made arrangements for our guide, Fonis to arrive early. We started out with a delicious tasting of local olives, oils and preserves from a local estate called Campari! Come hungry because you will eat many local delicacies! Then off to the monastery with its scenic views. Amazing! Then finally in the old town for shopping. I highly recommend this tour company. Our guide, Fonis was amazing!
