Car was new and clean. Driver was very friendly. But he insisted on bringing us to buy tea and kept on saying that the red Mosque is too crowded to go after we finished with the kelaniya temple. In the end we did not even see the Mosque as we wasted 1hr driving to his friend tea shop. Very upset and dissapointed. He mentioned it was the eve of public holiday with rallies in the city. We told him we have lunch from 12pm to 2pm so we wanted to do the 2 main site seeing first but he kept on insisting to go so far to the tea shop. Which was so expensive. After that we rush for our lunch at ministry of crab and after that we had to go back to the ship already. Other passenger saw so many sites and it was not crowded, so I don't know why he keep insisting to go so far to the tea shop.. blue field tea..even further than the Gangaramaya Temple.

Thank you for your feedback and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. Dear Fran, You availed our service on 30th April 2024 between 10 am and 3 pm only. (i.e. the day before May 1st which is World Labor Day). You came to Sri Lanka on a cruise ship on that day. Since there are several major political parties in Sri Lanka, they hold rallies and demonstrations / parade related to the International Labor Day on the first of May centered on Colombo, the main commercial city of Sri Lanka. So for all this, the day before May 1st, i.e. 30th April (on the day of your Colombo City Tour with us), stage construction and other trainings were being done at several places in Colombo city. Therefore, on April 30, several main roads in Colombo city were closed and alternative roads were used instead. Therefore, there was an unprecedented traffic jam in Colombo on this day. When we asked the driver about this incident, he said that you don't want to visit Gangaramaya Temple, you said that you want to go to Kelaniya Temple first. Then you told him that you have reserved a time for your lunch at the restaurant mentioned above between 12 noon and 2 pm. So, if you visit the Red Mosque at that time (after visiting the Kelaniya Temple), you will not be able to reach the restaurant you booked for lunch by 12 noon due to the traffic jams on the alternative routes used to reach that area. Therefore, the driver further said that you agreed not to go to the Red Mosque at that time (before your lunch). He also says that because there is more time to go to the restaurant you booked for lunch at 12 noon, he asked you and took you to the tea shop mentioned above with your wish. and He also says that you bought tea products there. If the price is too high, you might not buy them. No one pressures you. (Apart from that, I must tell you that the tea shop mentioned above is not one of his friends, it is the main branch in Colombo of one of the main and largest tea factories in Sri Lanka. It is a major tea shop in Colombo that directs anyone to buy high quality tea products). He also said that at the end of all this, you told the driver that you should go directly to the ship after having your lunch at around 2 pm, so he took you to the ship. According to the driver, he could not take you to see the Red Mosque because you had reserved a time for lunch at 12 noon and you were going to visit the Kelaniya Temple which is outside Colombo first. and on the occasion of World Labor Day, the grant roads in Colombo city have to be closed and alternative roads have to be used and there is a lot of traffic in it. Finally, if you experienced any inconvenience while receiving our service, we again apologize for that and happily invite you to visit Sri Lanka again (but not for 5-6 hours. At least for 5 days).
