Cab Ride from BIA Colombo to Kandy

Our Driver Hafeel is good person. However we are not happy with Suzuki Spacia. Not a comfortable journey and it has no boot space. The route he took was not a smooth and comfortable route and we were exhausted after the travel. Also no proper restaurants enroute. Overall it was not a good experience.

Dear Sir / Madam, Apologies about the inconvenience you had faced. Probably it should be a different vehicle model. We do not have Suzuki Spacia in our fleet for Airport - Kandy route. There are enough good restaurants available en route to Kandy from the Colombo Airport. But if you looked for vegetarian options or Indian restaurants, we agree with you that there are no much restaurants available from these types. Thank you.

I had a fantastic experience with Ayub, the driver from Mahaweli Tours & Holidays, during my journey from Colombo airport to my hotel in Kandy. The pickup was right on time, and communication with Ayub was clear and efficient. Although I only had a short time to connect before the pickup, it was very workable, and everything went smoothly. The vehicle, a Toyota Prius, was in great condition and had air conditioning, making for a comfortable ride. The trip itself took about two and a half to three hours, depending on traffic, but Ayub made the drive pleasant and stress-free. I will update you on the return trip to Colombo once I’ve completed it, but overall, this was an excellent start to my travels. Highly recommend Mahaweli Tours & Holidays for anyone looking for reliable and comfortable transportation in Sri Lanka!

Would have been great, but..

Our driver stopped for a king coconut & coffee on the way which we paid for our driver also. We were very tired & just wanted to get to our accommodation in Kandy. Our driver tried to take us via an elephant sanctuary which he said was free (but wasn't), we refused to go in. Would have been a good trip is the driver didn't try & get commissions by trying to get us to go to spice Gardens, tea factories etc, it was just uncomfortable. When you arrive on a late flight all you want to do is get to where you want to go, not used to make extra money. The booking team were very responsive & courteous.

We asked for a transfer from Colombo to Kandy, but we were able to drive safely and without any trouble. What’s more, they stopped right in front of the hotel and called the hotel before they arrived, which made me feel kind. We were a little anxious about our night trip, but we talked a lot, albeit taciturnly, and the nearly three-hour drive didn’t bother us at all. I'm glad I chose it.
